BLACKWOOD'S PREMIUM NORDIC VODKA
Shetland, Scotland

Please note that this product has been moved to the April 15 release.

Blackwood uses Shetland Islands pure spring water. They triple distill the wheat grain spirit, filter it over Nordic Birch charcoal and then ice filter the final product, an innovation unique to this producer. Take note of the front panel of this bottle - the ship's sails turn from frosted to viking red in the refrigerator or freezer signalling that the vodka is properly chilled. Blackwood plans to build the first whisky distillery on the Shetland Islands.

It is dry with good aroma replays, soft tannins, medium full-body and a lingering, fruit-forward finish. Enjoy with meat-based pasta sauces, grilled steak.  (VINTAGES panel, May 2005)
