CHÂTEAU
CESSERAS MINERVOIS LA LIVINIÈRE 2002
AC
(Jean-Yves & Pierre-André Ournac)
This new AC, Minervois la Livinière, separated from
the larger Minervois AC in 1997. The rationale was that the 'terroir'
was a step above the bigger region. Grapes better suited to
the area like Syrah, Mourvèdre and Grenache now dominate
the vineyards. Every wine and every vintage must go through
a rigorous tasting process before being allowed to use Minervois
la Livinière on their labels. Producers, such as Château
Cesseras, have thrived under the new AC, creating explosive,
balanced delicious wines that are excellent for rich beef dishes
or for maturing, short to mid-term, in a cellar (2-5 years).

appellation applies only to this type of wine made in Bordeaux. (www.chateau-lamothe.com)
