CHÂTEAU HAUT-BERTINERIE ELEGANCE

TASTING NOTE: This ripe wine is dense with firm

tannins and bright with red-berry fruits. Dominated

by 60% rich Merlot, it’s structured while never losing

sight of its fruit and spice. The wine is still developing,

CHÂTEAU TEYSSIER 2012

AC Montagne-Saint-Émilion

TASTING NOTE: Newwood shows strongly in this

perfumed, Merlot-dominated wine. It is structured

and still very tight and tannic at this stage. The chalk

soil of the vineyard has given a strongly mineral

character to the wine. That, along with the tannins,

gives powerful support to the black currant fruits.

Drink from 2018. Score:

and dark berry scents are complemented by hints of

candied flowers and allspice. Bright and juicy on

the palate, offering gently sweet black raspberry

and cherry flavors given spine by juicy acidity. Closes

smooth and long, leaving a suggestion of floral

pastilles behind. Drinking window: 2017-2021.

from the Saget estate, this is a rich and structured

wine. Its apple, citrus and yellow fruit flavors are just

beginning to integrate with the tight, steely texture.
