The wines of Burgundy are revered as

perhaps the most elegantly expressive

and reflective-of-their-origins of any in the

world. This one is grown in a stony vineyard

perched atop a fossil-rich limestone ridge in

Saint Aubin, a tiny appellation tucked away

to the west of Chassagne-Montrachet.

AC, Burgundy

The cool-climate vineyards of Chablis, with

their distinctive ancient marine limestone,

are the source of incredibly fine, focused,

mineral Chardonnays. This wine was grown

in Bougros, one of seven grand cru vine-

yards in the heart of the region.

in Marlborough, the riverside vineyards

of France’s Loire Valley grew the original

grassy, crunchy-green-fruited wines made

Alsace, situated in northeastern France

just across the Rhine River from the Black

Forest, is home to the prototypical dry style

of Riesling. This wine is grown in the sunny,

granitic grand cru vineyard of Brand, which

overlooks the medieval town of Turckheim.
