RHÔNE

BROTTE LES HAUTS DE BARVILLE

CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE BLANC 2015

AP

(Aimé et Pascal Fayolle, prop.-récolt.)

TASTING NOTE: This has a lovely mix of yellow apple

and white peach fruit flavors inlaid with verbena,

quinine and lemon shortbread notes. The richness is

offset by a stony echo. Drink now through 2018.

CÔTES DE LECHET CHABLIS 1

CRU 2003

AC

TASTING NOTE: Aweird and wonderful Chablis

offering rarely seen maturity in a current release. An

abundance of character is offered with a compelling

breadth of flavours. Notes of honey and wax are

notable but don’t dominate. Fruit and a light nutty,

almond element are the most overt flavours on the

palate. Immensely complex and revealing enhanced by

tertiary flavours (developed in bottle). All components

nicely meshed resulting in a harmony of flavours.

Intriguing, evolved to near perfection. Ready to drink

now. A contemplative find that is dinner party ready.

Highlymemorablewith exceptional length. Perspective

changing. Score:

CRU 2014

AC

TASTING NOTE: A fine example of white Burgundy

in a richer, more robust style, this wine opens with

fabulously complex aromas of buttered toast, yellow

apple and plum, nectarine, lemon drop, pineapple

and meringue. It’s bright and juicy on the palate with

oaky overtones, a subtle touch of apple cider vinegar,

and a chalky mineral feel on the finish. Savour it

through 2030 with pork tenderloin stuffed with

cabbage and apples in a white-wine-and-mustard

sauce. (Vintages panel, Oct. 2017)

LOUIS JADOT MARSANNAY 2011

AC

TASTING NOTE: The 2011Marsannay is a gorgeous,

texturedwine. White peach, almond, dried flowers and

mint all flesh out in a generous, textured Burgundy

full of near-term appeal. This is an especially generous,

resonant Marsannay. According towinemaker Frederic

Barnier a clonal mutation of Chardonnay in this parcel

yields wines of unusual textural depth and structure.

Drinking window: 2013+. Score:
