CLOS DU MARQUIS 2005
AC Saint-Julien

462218 (XD) 750mL $140.00

TASTING NOTE: The superb second wine, the 2005 Clos du Marquis, reflects the utter brilliance of the 2005 grand vin. It boasts an inky/ruby/purple color along with a sweet perfume of lead pencil, ripe cherries and black currants, and hints of earth and vanillin. Dense, chewy, fleshy, and full-bodied, this beauty will be drinkable in 3-4 years, and should keep for 15-20. Score: 91 (Robert Parker Jr., erobertparker.com, April 2008)

CHÂTEAU GISCOURS 2000
AC Margaux, Grand Cru Classé

462192 (XD) 750mL $238.00

James Suckling awarded this wine a rating of 93 points on Feb. 14, 2011. (jamessuckling.com)

TASTING NOTE: Probably the finest Giscours made since the 1975, this black/purple-colored 2000 offers up terrific notes of camphor, creosote, blackberry, and cassis jam intermixed with notions of smoke and earth. Spicy, with low acidity, a big, rich, fleshy, full-bodied palate, outstanding texture, and a long, pure finish, it is, to reiterate, one of the best Giscours produced over the last 25 years. A sleeper of the vintage, it is still available for a realistic price. Drink 2006-2020. Score: 92 (Robert Parker Jr., erobertparker.com, April 2003)

BOUCHARD PÈRE & FILS CORTON-CHARLEMAGNE GRAND CRU 2013
AC

974758 (XD) 750mL $238.00

TASTING NOTE: A fabulous Corton Charlemagne with an impressive density, yet the bright acidity gives this white agility. Full body, compressed and layered mouthfeel. Salty and minerally finish. Drink now or hold. Score: 96 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, June 19, 2015)

CHAMPY PULIGNY MONTRACHET 2013
AC

448712 (XD) 750mL $65.00

TASTING NOTE: This is long and gorgeous with very pretty sliced green apple, mineral and oyster shell character. Some flint too, plus a full body. Nice contrast of ripe fruit and bright acidity. Drink now. Score: 92 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, June 19, 2015)

JEAN DAUVISSAT LES PREUSES CHABLIS GRAND CRU 2010
AC

453159 (XD) 750mL $84.00

TASTING NOTE: Here the wood is also discreet but still a bit more obvious compared to the old vines Vaillons. The ripe and exceptionally pretty nose of lime, anise, white flowers and mineral reduction complements perfectly the concentrated, serious and wonderfully refined medium weight plus flavors that also enjoy a plenitude of dry extract that buffers the firm acid spine on the gorgeously long finish. This also displays impressive development potential. Drink: 2016+. Score: 91-94 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, Oct. 2011)

MICHEL GASSIER LOU COUCARDIE BLANC 2012
AC Costières de Nîmes

406249 (XD) 750mL $35.00

TASTING NOTE: Even more rich and layered, the 2012 Costieres De Nimes Lou Coucardie is a blend of 59% Roussanne and 41% Viognier. Aged in 10-15% new 500-Liter barrels, it offers up a spectacular array of ripe golden fruits, lemon curd, flowers and hints of vanilla that flow to a medium to full-bodied, voluptuously textured white that builds in the glass, yet never seems heavy or cumbersome. It too should be purchased by the case and consumed over the coming 2-3 years. Score: 93 (Jeb Dunnuck, erobertparker.com, Dec. 2013)

ZIND-HUMBRECHT CLOS SAINT URBAIN RANGEN DE THANN GEWURZTRAMINER 2009
AC Alsace Grand Cru

51904 (XD) 750mL $84.00

TASTING NOTE: Hints of smokiness combine with a perfumed character in this wonderful wine. It has richness, with lychee and spice flavors, while adding the extra complexity of a touch of toast and green tea. Wonderful now, but will age for five years and more. Cellar Selection. Score: 95 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 2011)

PERRIER-JOUËT BELLE ÉPOQUE BRUT CHAMPAGNE 2007
AC

135798 (D) 750mL $189.00

TASTING NOTE: For Perrier-Jouët the symbols of the Belle Epoque are the house calling card. This prestige cuvée, in its stylish flowered bottle, has been released with good maturity, offering toast as well as fruit and a crisp, tight and mineral backdrop. There is an elegant style to the wine, fresh and with poise. Drink now. Score: 95 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 2015)

GOSSET GRAND MILLÉSIME BRUT CHAMPAGNE 2006
AC

596973 (XD) 750mL $108.00

TASTING NOTE: This is a dry style of wine, with great acidity and a tightly wrought texture. As with many Gosset Champagnes, this wine has had no malolactic fermentation, enhancing the freshness and crispness as well as the structure. Full of lemon zest, crisp grapefruit and delicious acidity, it will still age for many years. Drink from 2017. Cellar Selection. Score: 94 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 2015)

DOMAINE DU CLOS DES FÉES VIEILLES VIGNES 2012
AC Côtes du Roussillon-Villages

461863 (XD) 750mL $42.00

TASTING NOTE: Bizeul's 2012 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Vieilles Vignes is a beautiful wine that does everything right. Made from 45% Grenache, 40% Carignan and the rest Syrah, aged all in concrete, it has terrific concentration and mid-palate depth to go with superb notes of blackberry, blueberry, peppery herbs, leather and spring flowers. Perfumed, exotic and complex, with the purity that's the hallmark here, drink it anytime over the coming 5-7 years. Score: 94 (Jeb Dunnuck, erobertparker.com, April 2015)

JOH. JOS. PRÜM GRAACHER HIMMELREICH RIESLING KABINETT 2009
Prädikatswein

333021 (MS) 750mL $58.00

TASTING NOTE: Sinewy and lithe, with tightly packed flavors of peach, apricot and mango, which are accented by minerally, herbal notes. The racy finish packs plenty of punch. Drink now through 2024. Score: 90 (Kim Marcus, winespectator.com, March 31, 2011)

JOH. JOS. PRÜM GRAACHER HIMMELREICH RIESLING SPÄTLESE 2009
Prädikatswein

402065 (S) 750mL $58.00

TASTING NOTE: Very racy and powerful, with lots of mineral and sea salt notes to the fresh and vibrant flavors of nectarine and lemon-lime. Pure and long on the finish, with hints of licorice and savory herb. Best from 2012 through 2022. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. Score: 93 (Kim Marcus, winespectator.com, April 30, 2011)

CAVALLOTTO BRICCO BOSCHIS BAROLO 2011
DOCG

579276 (XD) 750mL $88.00

TASTING NOTE: Dark berry, mint, menthol and a balsamic note are just some of the aromas you'll get on this gorgeous wine. The full-bodied palate delivers ripe black cherry, clove, ground pepper and anise alongside firm, refined tannins. Give it time to fully develop. Drink 2019-2026. Cellar Selection. Score: 95 (Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, Oct. 2015)

PIO CESARE IL BRICCO BARBARESCO 2011
DOCG

730275 (XD) 750mL $126.00

TASTING NOTE: Lots of dark berries and flowers plus hints of fresh mushrooms. Full body with ultra-fine tannins and a finish that lasts for minutes. Dense and racy. Perhaps the best Il Bricco ever? Score: 96 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Oct. 19, 2015)

SILVIO GRASSO BRICCO LUCIANI BAROLO 2007
DOCG

365338 (D) 750mL $80.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2007 Barolo Bricco Luciani is one of the most beautiful wines I have tasted here in quite some time. Dark berries, flowers, minerals and spices are some of the nuances that emerge from this sexy, well-delineated Barolo. The 2007 possesses more depth than has been the norm over the recent past and also less new oak, a combination that has yielded a fabulous result. The wine's inner perfume carries through gracefully to the long, silky finish. This is a hugely enjoyable Barolo from Grasso. Drink: 2015-2025. Score: 94 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Feb. 2011)

CASTELLO DI BOSSI GIROLAMO 2011
IGT Toscana

63586 (XD) 750mL $70.00

TASTING NOTE: This is a first rate Merlot from Tuscany. The 2011 Girolamo is soft, yielding, pleasurable and extremely plump. The texture is outstanding as the wine glides clear over the palate like a silk sheet. It is persuasive, enduring and long lasting. Aromas of dark cherry, cinnamon spice and chocolate stands to attention and the wine continues to evolve and gain momentum as it warms in the glass. This is a truly beautiful effort that offers immense drinking joy. It should also hold well over the coming decade. But you might not be able to wait that long. Drink: 2015-2026. Score: 94 (Monica Larner, erobertparker.com, Oct. 2015)

SERGIO ZINGARELLI GRAN SELEZIONE CHIANTI CLASSICO 2011
DOCG

419820 (XD) 750mL $100.00

TASTING NOTE: Very dried strawberry and light plum aromas with hints of roses. Full body, round and rich tannins and a beautiful texture. Excellent depth and length. A wine with so much to offer. Drink or hold. Score: 95 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Aug. 21, 2015)

POGGIO AL TESORO DEDICATO A WALTER 2010
IGT Toscana

109553 (XD) 750mL $80.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2010 Dedicato a Walter is one of the very finest versions of this 100% Cabernet Franc I have ever tasted. Deep, powerful and packed to the core with fruit, the 2010 boasts stunning richness and pedigree. Mocha, espresso, blackberry jam, graphite and smoke all round out this magnificent effort from Poggio al Tesoro. An exceptionally well-balanced, harmonious wine, the 2010 should drink well for another decade, perhaps longer. Score: 95 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Aug. 2013)

CELLER DE L'ENCASTELL MARGE 2013
DOCa Priorat

462077 (XD) 750mL $30.00

TASTING NOTE: From hillside vineyards in another section of Priorat, called Porrera, the 2013 Marge is a blend of 50% Grenache, 20% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Carignan and 5% Syrah aged eight months in a combination of French and American oak. The year 2013 was considered a great vintage in Priorat, which is not the case in many other areas of Spain and France. This wine, the 2013 Marge, has stunning richness, a deep ruby/purple color, loads of blueberry, black raspberry and black cherry fruit, crushed rock, and again, floral notes that are so obvious in many Priorats. The dense, ruby/purple colored wine offers up plenty of intensity and richness and should drink well for another 4-6 years. Score: 93 (Robert Parker Jr., erobertparker.com, July 2015)

VALDUERO RESERVA 2010
DO Ribera del Duero

270249 (XD) 750mL $50.00

TASTING NOTE: Evidence of expensive oak here with a full-throttle but perfumed nose of toast, creamy chocolate and lush dark fruits. It's polished and rich in the mouth, full in body with fine tannins and great acidity able to match the breadth and intensity of the glistening fruit. Score: Gold Medal (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2015)

PERSEUS INVICTUS 2013
BC VQA Okanagan Valley

462887 (XD) 750mL $49.00

Invictus, which means "unconquerable" in Latin, is the flagship wine from Perseus Winery. Based on the grand vins of Bordeaux's Right Bank, the wine is designed as a showcase for the heights that Cabernet Franc - at the core of the blend, along with 38% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Malbec - can reach in the Okanagan Valley. Stylistically big and bold, the 2013 Invictus promises concentrated black cherry and berry fruit, chocolate and spice wrapped in velvety tannins.

ZAHA TOKO VINEYARD MALBEC 2013
Altamira, Mendoza

441691 (XD) 750mL $35.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Zaha Malbec is co-fermented with a little Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, all of them from an Altamira vineyard called Toko, which in Huarpe means stone. It has notes of blackberries, violets, damsons, scorched earth and some licorice. It's powerful and fleshy, with very fine tannins, great balance and freshness. A structured and layered Malbec that is still a baby and that should develop more complexity with time in bottle. Score: 94 (Luis Gutierrez, erobertparker.com, Aug. 2015)

MAURICIO LORCA GRAN POETICO BLEND 2007
Mendoza

441683 (XD) 750mL $44.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2007 Gran Lorca Poetico is a special cluster selection: a blend of 70% Malbec, 20% Syrah and 10% Petit Verdot aged for 12 months in French and American oak. The nose is very expressive; the oak neatly enmeshed with the vibrant black cherry, Dorset plum and black olive aromas that are very well-defined. The palate is medium-bodied with a saline note on the entry and indeed, there is something reminiscent of the sea throughout this wine. It is very crisp and taut with black fruit that sings on the finish. Excellent. Drink now-2022. Score: 93 (Neal Martin, erobertparker.com, Oct. 2012)

DIERBERG PINOT NOIR 2012
Santa Maria Valley

460915 (XD) 750mL $70.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2012 Pinot Noir Dierberg Vineyard shows the darker side of Pinot with its earthy, forest floor, red and black fruit and spice aromas and flavors. Coming all from sandy loam soils and aged 18 months in 35% new oak, it's beautifully balanced, has solid mid-palate density and a terrific finish. Enjoy it over the coming 4-6 years. Score: 93 (Jeb Dunnuck, erobertparker.com, Aug. 2014)

MACPHAIL SUNDAWG RIDGE PINOT NOIR 2012
Russian River Valley

460949 (XD) 750mL $72.00

TASTING NOTE: One of the darkest colored Pinot Noirs from MacPhail Family is the 2012 Pinot Noir Sundawg Ridge, which saw 43% new French oak and spent 11 months in wood. Its clonal material is Pommard, Calera and Dijon clone 115. Another stunning Pinot from MacPhail, it exhibits a deep ruby color, a big, sweet kiss of red and blackcurrants, black cherries, earth, spice and background bouquet garni and roasted meats. Chewy, fleshy, succulent and opulent, this French-styled Pinot Noir should last for 5-6 years. Score: 93 (Robert Parker Jr., erobertparker.com, Dec. 2014)

PRIEST RANCH COACH GUN RED BLEND 2012
Napa Valley

460923 (XD) 750mL $122.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2012 Proprietary Red Blend Coach Gun is a blend of 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Malbec, 11% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Franc and 26% Petit Verdot, which is certainly one of the most original blends I've seen from California. It is 15.2% natural alcohol, so it's a big, chewy proprietary red that shows lots of lard, pepper, bouquet garni and aged beef smells. It is full-bodied, heady, and Rhône Ranger-like. At 15.2% natural alcohol, it's got some kick to it. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. Score: 93 (Robert Parker Jr., erobertparker.com, Oct. 2014)

EVENING LAND LA SOURCE SEVEN SPRINGS VINEYARD CHARDONNAY 2013
Eola-Amity Hills

240010 (XD) 750mL $120.00

TASTING NOTE: Taut, focused, complex and immediately inviting, deftly layering pear, nectarine, citrus, loamy earth and floral aromas and flavors as the finish plays on. Shows good tension between the fruit and savory notes. Drink now through 2023. 390 cases made. Score: 94 (Harvey Steiman, winespectator.com, Feb. 29, 2016)

FEATHER CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2013
Columbia Valley

64766 (XD) 750mL $106.00

Made by iconic California winemaker Randy Dunn, this wine is a perennial darling with collectors and critics alike - the 2010 and '11 vintages were each awarded 94 points from erobertparker.com, while the most recently reviewed, the 2012, scored a 95. Expect a massive-yet-polished, structured, spiced and earthy effort from this most recent edition.

SPRING VALLEY VINEYARD FREDERICK 2012
Walla Walla Valley

462903 (XD) 750mL $73.00

TASTING NOTE: Slightly darker in color than the Uriah release, the 2012 Frederick checks in as a blend of 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc, 8% Malbec and a splash of Petit Verdot. It's another classically styled, age-worthy wine from this estate that offers lots of tobacco leaf, lead pencil, currants and damp earth-like aromas and flavors. Elegant, ripe, medium to full-bodied and with fine tannin, enjoy it anytime over the coming 15 years. Score: 94 (Jeb Dunnuck, erobertparker.com, June 2015)

TORO ALBALA DON PX CONVENTO SELECCIÓN 1946
DOP Montilla-Moriles

368829 (S) 750mL $374.00

TASTING NOTE: The 1946 Don PX Convento Seleccion produced with Pedro Ximenez grapes dehydrated under the sun at the time of the Second World War, was only bottled in September 2011. This is an extreme wine, my first descriptor was ultra-mega-super concentrated. It is unbelievably powerful, both in the nose and the palate, full of umami, with sweet cinnamon, Christmas cake, camphor, petrol, lemongrass, Belgian chocolate and butter. Incredibly complex and rich, sweet, balanced and smooth in the palate, it is both very sweet and somehow salty, and with time it develops a black olive note. It combines the texture of the 1962 and the elegance of the 1949. It is as decadent as it gets. 825 bottles were produced. This wine will survive all of us. These wines are kept for generations and offered in very small quantities, but it's amazing that you can still buy and drink something so old, and I'm even tempted to say that it might represent good value for what it is. A real tour de force sweet wine. Drink it if you ever have the privilege to do so from 2013-2060. Score: 100 (Luis Gutierrez, erobertparker.com, Aug. 2013)
