DELORD XO BAS ARMAGNAC
AC

457671 750mL $88.00

The Delord story began in 1893 when Prosper Delord travelled from farm to farm with his alambic, a traditional copper still. Four generations later, the family oversees a product sold around the world. From humble beginnings to global renown... what a story! The XO Bas Armagnac will offer aromas of vanilla bean, honey, nougat, tobacco and rancio. Expect a creamy and textured mouthfeel with intensely sweet flavours of honey, toffee and cocoa.

THOMAS HINE TRIOMPHE GRANDE CHAMPAGNE COGNAC

292888 700mL $1,009.00

TASTING NOTE: Triomphe is an exceptional cognac created in 1888 by Edouard Hine in celebration of the man's victory over the phylloxera epidemic, which destroyed most of the vineyards at the time. Made from a blend of 50 rare, old cognacs (again exclusively from Grande Champagne) that have been aged for an average of 45-55 years. Sweeter on the nose with caramel notes and more oak, it is the most expressive of the Hine's floral Cognacs. Incredibly smooth and lingering on the palate. (May 25, 2012)

CHATEAU DE LAUBADE XO ARMAGNAC
In Gift Box, AC

470914 700mL $408.00

TASTING NOTE: The rich topaz color nods to the smooth fruit-and-honey character of this Armagnac. A blend of Baco, Folle Blanche, Ugni Blanc and Colombard grapes yields aromas of butterscotch and fresh apricots, with ethereally light, fruity notes on the palate that are reminiscent of some honeyed Speyside Scotches. Score: 93 (Kara Newman, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 31, 2012)

CHÂTEAU LA MISSION HAUT-BRION 2012
AC Pessac-Léognan, Cru Classé

349787 (XD) 750mL $349.85

TASTING NOTE: As for the 2012 La Mission Haut Brion, this wine (41% of the total production) continues to perform as it has for nearly a century. At first-growth levels of quality, this is s stunning wine that is full-bodied and very concentrated with notes of graphite, subtle charcoal embers, crème de cassis, blackberry and underlying subtle earthiness. The wine is full and powerful, rich and concentrated. And sure enough, the alcohol level tips the scales at 15% from a blend 62% Merlot and 38% Cabernet Franc. This is a big, blockbuster La Mission Haut Brion that should age effortlessly for 30-40+ years. However, the tannins suggest that this wine should not be touched for another 5-6 years, as its one of the more backward of the 2012 Pessac-Léognans. Bravo! Drink: 2020-2060. Score: 97 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, April 2015)

CHÂTEAU PONTET-CANET 2012
AC Pauillac, 5e Cru

349753 (XD) 750mL $149.85

TASTING NOTE: This impeccably run, biodynamically farmed estate of Alfred Tesseron goes from strength to strength. The 2012 triumphs once again with its notes of dark plum, blackcurrant, licorice and almost a hint of truffle, its full-bodied, supple tannins, and beautiful, expensive mouthfeel. Complex and deep, this dense ruby/purple-colored wine may not be at the level of the 2009 or 2010, but it is a successful wine in this vintage, and a significant wine in 2012. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2035. Score: 93 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, April 2015)

CHÂTEAU COS D'ESTOURNEL 2011
AC Saint-Estèphe, 2e Cru

294827 (XD) 750mL $249.85

TASTING NOTE: This is really excellent for the vintage with currants, dark berries and minerals on the nose and palate. Full body, firm tannins and a long finish. It's a bit linear but racy and superb. One of the best of the vintage. Better in 2020. Score: 95 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Oct. 29, 2015)

CHÂTEAU BRANAIRE-DUCRU 2010
AC Saint-Julien, 4e Cru

260679 (XD) 750mL $152.00

TASTING NOTE: This rich, full wine shows the chateau to be at the top of its form. It's finely balanced, pushing both its fruit and acidity, with the tannins taking the supporting role. With its power leashed, this shows the stylish side of Saint-Julien, although it will certainly age for many years. Cellar Selection. Score: 95 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Feb. 2013)

CHÂTEAU FOMBRAUGE 2010
AC Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

594218 (XD) 750mL $64.00

TASTING NOTE: This has a really nice graphite frame that drives the core of fig, plum and boysenberry fruit authoritatively, with dense ganache, espresso and tar on the finish. The grip is keeping things tight now, but this should meld in the cellar, as the underlying feel is energetic. Best from 2015 through 2025. Score: 92 (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, March 31, 2013)

CHÂTEAU LATOUR 2000
AC Pauillac

470658 (XD) 750mL $2,239.00

TASTING NOTE: Latour has made truly great wines in the past two decades?and this is one of the best. It has fabulous aromas of black truffles, currants, raspberry and dried flowers. Mind-blowing on the palate, it's an emotional and soulful red. Score: 100 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, April 28, 2014)

DOMAINE TAUPENOT-MERME AUXEY-DURESSES 1ER CRU 2013
AC

435545 (XD) 750mL $65.00

TASTING NOTE: Since Romain Taupenot took over this domaine in 1998, quality has been progressing continuously, making him one of the rising stars in Burgundy. The Auxey-Duresses appellation is a source for some inexpensive Pinots and Romain's style of wine is elegant rather than powerful. This has lovely, precise and delicate red cherry and violet notes. The fine-grained tannins are in balance with the aromatic red fruit palate and it's fresh on the finish. Drink: 2018-2025. Score: 93 (Christelle Guibert, decanter.com, June 8, 2015)

DUBREUIL-FONTAINE CORTON CLOS DU ROI GRAND CRU 2013
AC

383646 (XD) 750mL $100.00

TASTING NOTE: Here too there is just enough wood to warrant noting though it is sufficiently subtle that the expressive aromas of earth, game, smoke, forest floor and dark berry fruit aromas have no trouble being appreciated. There is excellent size, weight and power to the full-bodied flavors that possess excellent punch and ample minerality on the balanced, complex and solidly persistent finish. Note that this will require patience. Drink: 2025+. Score: 92 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, April 15, 2015)

TAUPENOT-MERME GRAND CRU MAZOYÈRES-CHAMBERTIN 2013
AC

401414 (XD) 750mL $275.00

TASTING NOTE: This is aromatically quite similar to the Charmes though the earth and sauvage elements are a bit more pronounced. There is good punch and plenty of minerality to the broad-shouldered and powerful flavors that deliver first-rate depth and length on the moderately rustic and overtly austere finale. Once again patience will be required for this very serious effort to mature as the supporting tannins are prominent and notably firm. Drink: 2028+ Score: 94 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, Jan. 15, 2016)

ANTONIN GUYON LES CRAS CHAMBOLLE-MUSIGNY 2012
AC

436089 (XD) 750mL $87.00

TASTING NOTE: This is also attractively perfumed though not quite as high-toned in character as the fruit is darker. The middle weight flavors are notably richer and possess more volume and mid-palate concentration as well with plenty of minerality present on the dusty and mildly austere finish that delivers fine length. This is more obviously structured and should age well over the better part of a decade. Drink: 2019+. Score: 88-91 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, April 15, 2014)

BARRAUD LES CHATAIGNIERS POUILLY-FOUISSÉ SUR LA ROCHE 2014
AC

470997 (D) 750mL $39.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2014 Pouilly-Fuissé Sur La Roche has a more reticent bouquet than its siblings this year, and needs more encouragement from the glass before it reveals apple peeling, flint and light sea spray aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with a waxy opening, very well balanced and nicely poised, although I hope that it develops a little more complexity towards the spicy finish. Give it a couple of years in bottle. Score: 91+ (Neal Martin, robertparker.com, Jan. 2016)

REMOISSENET PÈRE & FILS CHASSAGNE-MONTRACHET 2014
AC

433375 (XD) 750mL $77.00

Founded in 1877, Remoissenet is a truly historic producer with a long-standing reputation for crafting some of the greatest of white Burgundy. As if to further emphasize the point, the cellars of Remoissenet are home to an unparalleled collection of vintage Burgundy, including many wines that date from between the two World Wars. This collection is the largest in the world. The vineyards of Chassagne-Montrachet are the most southerly of the Grand Crus sites in Burgundy, and are renowned for both their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The Chardonnay from Chassagne-Montrachet are notably powerful and offer suggestions of apple, honey and toasted nuts.

WILLIAM FÈVRE BOUGROS CÔTES BOUGEROTS CHABLIS GRAND CRU 2014
AC

391268 (XD) 750mL $118.00

TASTING NOTE: Once again, based on the nose alone, this could be nothing else but Chablis with its mélange of tidal pool, mineral reduction, citrus blossom and discreet spice nuances. There is fantastic detail to the focused, mineral-driven and powerful middle weight plus flavors that do a slow build from the mid-palate all the way back to the explosively long, balanced and bone dry finish. This too should amply reward longer-term cellaring but be approachable after only 6 to 8. In a word, wonderful. Don't Miss! Drink: 2021+. Score: 93-96 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, Oct. 15, 2015)

BOUCHARD PÈRE & FILS MONTRACHET 2013
AC

402040 (XD) 750mL $895.00

TASTING NOTE: This is still showing some post-bottling sulfur and not surprisingly the nose is reduced. If for some reason you're tempted to try a bottle in the next year I would strongly suggest that this be decanted for 30 minutes first. Otherwise there is excellent intensity, muscle and power to the concentrated, mineral-driven and broad-shouldered flavors that already display superb complexity and simply huge length. At the same time this is presently very tight and the austerity of the linear finish confirms that this is very likely to require 12 to 15 years to realize its full potential. Don't miss! Drink: 2025+. Score: 95 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, June 15, 2015)

JOSEPH DROUHIN MONTRACHET MARQUIS DE LAGUICHE GRAND CRU 2013
AC

670323 (XD) 750mL $852.00

TASTING NOTE: A dense and tight white with a compressed palate and super refined texture. Full body plus bright apple and pear with hints of vanilla cream. Goes on for a long, long time. Tiny production, about half of normal. Better in 2017. Score: 95 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, June 19, 2015)

DOMAINE JEAN-MARC MOREY CHASSAGNE-MONTRACHET LES CAILLERETS 1ER CRU 2012
AC

205955 (XD) 750mL $96.00

TASTING NOTE: A ripe but airy nose features very fresh aromas of ever-so-mildly exotic dried apricot, peach, mango and jasmine hints. There is exceptional richness to the suave and concentrated medium-bodied flavors that possess both good volume and plenty of minerality on the seductively textured and citrus-inflected finish. This is a big wine by the standards of the appellation yet it remains harmonious and well-balanced plus it should drink a few years earlier than it usually does. Worth considering if you enjoy big but stony Chassagne. Outstanding. Drink: 2017+. Score: 91 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, June 15, 2014)

MARCHAND-TAWSE BOUGROS CHABLIS GRAND CRU 2012
AC

468967 (D) 750mL $67.00

The Marchand-Tawse partnership continues to move from strength to strength, creating wines of great interest and quality across their portfolio. This one comes from 1 of the 7 climats that form Chablis' Grand Cru. Bougros is situated at the northwestern edge of Chablis' Grand Cru hillside. The soil here is much richer with a higher proportion of clay than is found elsewhere among the Grand Cru climats, in part due to Bougros' proximity to the small but important Serein River. These wines are typically well-balanced, with good fruit and precise mineral tones, and are crafted in a relatively approachable and easy-to-enjoy style.

CLOS SAINT JEAN TRADITION CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE 2012
AC

70888 (XD) 750mL $56.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape is a beautifully Provencal effort that gives up loads of black licorice, savory spice, leather and sweet black cherry aromas and flavors. Medium to full-bodied, elegant and already approachable, it nevertheless has the tannic structure and concentration to evolve for 10-15 years. Score: 92 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Oct. 2014)

DOMAINE TOUR SAINT MICHEL FEMINESSANCE CHÂTEAUNEUF DU PAPE 2012
AC

469106 (D) 750mL $81.00

TASTING NOTE: One of the top wines in the vintage, the 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape Feminessance checks in as a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah that spent 12 months in 50% new French oak and 50% in 1-year-old barrels. Made in a modern, yet incredibly polished, seamless and ultra-pure style, it gives up fabulous black raspberry, cassis and creamy licorice in its medium to full-bodied, perfectly balanced, concentrated style. There's certainly hints of vanilla and integrated oak here, but it's subtle, and I suspect, will be soaked up by all of the fruit in another couple years. This knockout Châteauneuf will have 10-15 years of longevity. Drink: 2016-2027. Score: 94 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Oct. 2014)

DOMAINE WEINBACH FURSTENTUM GEWÜRZTRAMINER 2013
AC Alsace Grand Cru

120691 (MS) 750mL $80.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Furstentum is a great wine! Exotic fruit aromas on the very clear, precise and quite coolish nose lead to a rich, powerful, complex, highly elegant and subtle palate with a long, piquant and tension-filled, almost dry finish. Very expressive and highly recommend. "Limestone and clay is taming the Gewurztraminer, which is like a wild horse that needs to be ridden," Catherine Faller says. Drink: 2015-2035. Score: 95 (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, Oct. 2015)

RENÉ MURÉ CLOS SAINT LANDELIN RIESLING 2013
AC Alsace Grand Cru

75929 (XD) 750mL $54.00

TASTING NOTE: Incredible clarity and brilliance in the nose with sliced apple, pear and mineral plus hints of chalk. Full-bodied, intense and deep with a phenolic texture, yet balanced and long. So much intensity. Phenomenal quality. Competes with Clos St. Hune. Drink now. Made from biodynamic grapes. Score: 97 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Sept. 25, 2015)

DIRLER-CADÉ KITTERLE GEWURZTRAMINER 2012
AC Alsace Grand Cru

470559 (D) 750mL $48.00

TASTING NOTE: Bright golden yellow. Rose and peony nuances on the captivating nose, complicated by honey and mineral notes. At once plump and juicy but also pristine and penetrating, with very clean, palate-staining flavors of tropical fruits and candied rose petal. Strikes me as being in between the Kessler and Saering Gewürztraminers in style. Drinking window: 2016-2030. Score: 94 (Ian D'Agata, vinous.com, April 2015)

LOUIS ROEDERER NATURE BRUT CHAMPAGNE 2006
AC

440891 (XD) 750mL $105.00

TASTING NOTE: After much anticipation, the 2006 Brut Nature makes its debut with a bang. All of the classic Roederer signatures are in place, especially in its utterly beguiling, expressive bouquet. Hints of lemon peel, pastry, wild flowers and Chamomile linger on the pointed, crystalline finish. The Brut Nature emerges from estate-owned parcels in Cumieres and Hautvillers, so it is a unique blend, totally different from any of the other wines in the range. Chef de Caves Jean-Baptiste Lecaillon plans to make the Brut Nature only in vintages that give him the natural ripeness he is looking for. The blend is 60% Cumieres Pinot Noir and 40% Hautvillers Chardonnay. Drinking window: 2014-2026. Score: 93+ (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, May 2014)

NICOLAS FEUILLATE PALMES D'OR BRUT ROSÉ CHAMPAGNE 2006
AC

470484 (D) 750mL $177.00

TASTING NOTE: Deeply hued, this graceful Champagne is delicate and creamy in texture, with seamless integration of the rich, smoky underpinning and vibrant acidity. The palate offers abundant steeped raspberry and fruit cake notes, accented by hints of oyster shell and bergamot. Drink now through 2030. Score: 94 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, Dec. 15, 2015)

VEUVE CLICQUOT LA GRANDE DAME BRUT CHAMPAGNE 2006
AC

38802 (D) 750mL $265.00

TASTING NOTE: Bright and graceful, this seamlessly knits a subtle streak of smoke-tinged minerality with flavors of almond financier, poached pear, candied kumquat and crème de cassis, focused by vibrant acidity and a refined, creamy mousse. Disgorged January 2014. Drink now through 2030. Score: 94 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, Dec. 15, 2015)

BOLLINGER R.D. EXTRA BRUT CHAMPAGNE 2002
AC

933606 (XD) 750mL $282.00

TASTING NOTE: Super fresh, this is striking given the 10 years in the cellars; it has a fine citrus nose - plenty of lemon, grapefruit, yellow chalky notes, some lighter floral elements too. The palate is super dry (dosage at 3-4g) and there's a silky, sherbet-like texture, smooth, fine and long. The citrus flavours give way to the driving surging acidity, thunderous acidity, really driving and powerful. The finish twists very slowly through to light-toasted cashew fruit flavours, but lemon citrus prevails. This is thrilling Champagne. Disgorged 22nd October, 2013. Drink from 2016. Score: 99 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, May 9, 2014)

KRUG BRUT CHAMPAGNE 2002
AC

68395 (D) 750mL $327.00

TASTING NOTE: A blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 39% Chardonnay, 21% Pinot Meunier from a warm, dry, generous, homogenous year, with 11 years' ageing on the lees. This was tasted immediately after Krug 2003 and was so much more discreet and savoury than the 2003 on the nose. It is chock-full of acidity and life, is really muscular and much more intellectual. For the moment the 2002 is less obviously fruity than the 2003 - clearly a champagne for long ageing - like many other 2002s - but much more backward than any I can think of immediately. There is nothing in excess; a great example of the Krug art of assemblage. Very solid and concentrated but not heavy at all. The finish is notably dry. This may be an intellectual wine but it's certainly not hard work! For Julie Cavil of the Krug blending team, this wine is 'a racehorse'. 'You were still riding regularly then', winemaker Eric Lebel reminds her with a smile. For them '2002 is about the generosity of Nature. We had to work hard to limit the yield a bit. There was lots of richness in the base wines; each sample had great generosity'. I look forward very much to following the development of this exceptional wine. When to drink: 2016-2030. Score: 19 (Jancis Robinson, MW, jancisrobinson.com, Jan. 25, 2016)

KRUG BRUT ROSÉ CHAMPAGNE
AC

38703 (XD) 750mL $440.00

TASTING NOTE: Pale orange. A highly perfumed bouquet displays scents of blood orange, redcurrant and gingerbread, plus spicy oak and floral nuances. Juicy, dense and spicy on the palate, with a smoky mineral quality lifting and sharpening the sappy citrus fruit and red berry flavors. Shows noteworthy intensity on the finish, which leaves notes of orange zest, candied rose and toasted notes behind. This Champagne's balance of power and vivacity is pretty impressive. Score: 94 (Josh Raynolds, vinous.com, Jan. 2015)

RUINART R DE RUINART BRUT CHAMPAGNE
AC

189878 (D) 750mL $82.00

TASTING NOTE: A classy, elegant and very refined example of champagne from Ruinart, replete with almond, hazelnut, white chocolate and fresh baked croissant-type aromas and flavours. Excellent length and depth; crisp and dry palate. Very fine. Score: 93 (John Szabo, MS, winealign.com, Oct. 17, 2013)

DOMÄNE WACHAU ACHLEITEN SMARAGD RIESLING 2014
Wachau

351379 (D) 750mL $43.00

TASTING NOTE: Lifted, notes of pure lemon zest fill the nose while the palate follows up and throws in some riper notions akin to plump, little, yellow mirabelle plums. There is a wonderfully textured midpalate that lends more body to this slender figure. The purity of the fruit expressed here is thrilling, as is the lemony freshness that pervades everything. Score: 94 (Anne Krebiehl, MW, Wine Enthusiast, March 2016)

EGON MÜLLER SCHARZHOF RIESLING 2015
QbA

468934 (S) 750mL $51.00

The Müller family have been overseeing the Egon Müller estate since 1797. Dating to the Roman period, the Scharzhofberg vineyard, of which they own nearly 30%, is perhaps one of the most famous in the world, let alone in Germany's Mosel region. The reputations of both the Müller family and the Scharzhofberg vineyard have been created almost symbiotically, as both have played a role in defining how the world perceives the other. Across the portfolio, the Rieslings of Egon Müller are defined by acidity and precision.

HANS LANG WISSELBRUNNEN DRY RIESLING 2011
VDP Erstes Gewachs

462150 (D) 750mL $42.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2011 Hattenheimer Wisselbrunnen Riesling GG shows a brilliant pale yellow with a greenish shimmer. Very clear, pure, precise and intense on the nose this full-bodied, juicy, intense and elegant wine reveals well-concentrated flavors of super-ripe and and dried pineapple aromas and a lingering salty finish. Already drinkable, but it will surely gain even more complexity over the next years. Drink: 2015-2030. Score: 92 (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, May 2015)

CESTE BARBARESCO 2012

MASSIMO RIVETTI BARBARESCO SERRABOELLA 2012
DOCG

472191 (XD) 750mL $49.00

MAURO MOLINO VIGNA CONCA BAROLO 2012
DOCG

305540 (XD) 750mL $95.00

TASTING NOTE: Insane aromas of fresh roses and crushed strawberries. Full and velvety textured. Loads of fruit yet the serious tannin backbone of the wine gives it form and tension. Superb. Better in 2020 but who can wait to taste this? Score: 97 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, March 10, 2016)

BREZZA CASTELLERO BAROLO 2011

TASTING NOTE: Red berry, aromatic herb, blue flower and baking spice aromas emerge on this firmly structured wine. PRODUTTORI DEL BARBARESCO MONTEFICO RISERVA BARBARESCO 2011
DOCG

355222 (D) 750mL $69.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2011 Barbaresco Riserva Montefico is another of the highlights in this range from the Produttori. Imagine the precision of Ovello, but with slightly darker fruit and more density and power through the middle. That's the Montefico. A regal, towering Barbaresco, the Montefico should provide thrilling drinking for the next several decades. A rush of dark cherry, plum, smoke, licorice and tobacco add nuance on the powerful, structured finish. Drinking window: 2021-2036. Score: 95 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Dec. 2015)

CAVALLOTTO VIGNOLO RISERVA BAROLO 2009
DOCG

317958 (XD) 750mL $124.00

TASTING NOTE: Cavallotto's 2009 Barolo Riserva Vignolo delivers less floral definition compared to the Riserva Bricco Boschis Vigna San Giuseppe. This a slightly more austere and masculine expression with broader brush strokes of dark fruit, spice and grilled herb. Barolo Riserva Vignolo's structure is important and compelling. The wine definitely promises a long aging trajectory of 15 years or more. Drink: 2016-2030. Score: 94 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, June 2015)

VALLANA GATTINARA 2006
DOCG

467282 (XD) 750mL $43.00

TASTING NOTE: Alpine herb, underbrush, pressed rose petal, dried berry and a balsamic note are some of the aromas you'll find in this elegant Nebbiolo. It's still remarkably youthful, with bright red cherry, fresh raspberry, clove, white pepper and mineral flavors accented by notes of rosemary and sage. It's impeccably balanced, with tightly wound but fine-grained tannins and bright acidity that support the bright flavors and vibrant edge. Drink 2018-2031. Cellar Selection. CURTO FONTANELLE ELORO NERO D'AVOLA 2010

TASTING NOTE: A medley of pretty aromas, including blue flower, perfumed berry, carob and Mediterranean herb all mingle in the glass. On the smooth, almost creamy palate, savory notes of clove, orange zest, white pepper and licorice add depth to the juicy blackberry core, while polished tannins provide the framework. TENUTA SETTE PONTI CROGNOLO 2013
IGT Toscana

228098 (XD) 1500mL $75.00

TASTING NOTE: Lots currants, blueberries, vanilla and floral character on the nose and palate. Full body, fine tannins and a fresh finish. Edgy contrast of acidity, ripe fruit and wood. Stylish, savory and delicious. A blend of sangiovese and merlot. One of the best values amongst Super Tuscan reds. Drink in 2016. Score: 95 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Aug. 5, 2015)

FONTODI FLACCIANELLO DELLA PIEVE 2012
IGT

963744 (D) 750mL $120.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2012 Flaccianello della Pieve, a selection of the estate's best fruit, presents a darker, more virile expression of Sangiovese. Here, too, the purity of the flavors is truly striking. Cinnamon, cloves, new leather, licorice and plums are some of the notes that soar from the glass. The 2012 is full-bodied and voluptuous, in classic Flaccianello style, but the new French oak is much better integrated than it often is at this stage, the result of a move to lower toast levels over the last few years. This is one of the finest young Flaccianellos I can remember. Simply put, the 2012 Flaccianello is a real stunner. Wow! Drinking window: 2020-2032. Score: 97 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Sept. 2015)

ALTESINO MONTOSOLI BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2011
DOCG

92247 (XD) 750mL $109.00

TASTING NOTE: Complex aromas and flavors of macerated cherry, plum, eucalyptus, tobacco and mineral are the hallmarks of this sweet yet structured Brunello. Balanced and approachable now, yet this should develop well. Fine length. Best from 2018 through 2030. Score: 93 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, June 15, 2016)

CASTELLARE DI CASTELLINA I SODI DI SAN NICCOLÒ 2011
IGT Toscana

987966 (D) 750mL $76.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2011 I Sodi di San Niccolò offers tremendous depth, power and intensity. The richness of the vintage comes through loud and clear in the wine's sweet fruit and glycerin, but then the firm tannins and Malvasia Nera kick in to give the wine its sense of proportion, while a host of savory and floral notes accompany the opulent finish. Deep, dark and dense on the palate, the 2011 should not be opened before age ten. I imagine the 2011 will always remain opulent, but is a real stunner. Ideally, readers should give the 2011 a few years to allow some of the baby fat to melt away. Drinking window: 2021-2036. Score: 95 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Sept. 2015)

CASTIGLION DEL BOSCO PRIMA PIETRA 2011
IGT Toscana

466391 (D) 750mL $69.00

TASTING NOTE: Wonderful purity of cabernet sauvignon fruit to this wine with blackcurrants, wet earth and pomace undertones. Full body, velvety and softly textured tannins and a long and flavorful finish. A wonderfully balanced Bordeaux blend of cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot from the Tuscan hillside coastline. Drink or hold. 472290 (D) 750mL $88.00

TASTING NOTE: The purity of fruit in this is very impressive with cherry and raspberry character. Full body, chewy and rich yet ultra-fine tannin texture and a long, long finish of focused and subtle fruit. Loving this. Drink or hold. Score: 97 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Feb. 28, 2016)

CASTELGIOCONDO BRUNELLO RISERVA RIPE AL CONVENTO 2010
DOCG

472324 (XD) 1500mL $272.00

TASTING NOTE: Tightly wound, with brisk acidity driving the flavors of cherry, plum, leather, iron, earth and eucalyptus. Hangs together beautifully, allowing vivid acidity to corral the endless finish. Best from 2019 through 2036. Score: 95 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, June 30, 2016)

LISINI BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2010
DOCG

105395 (XD) 750mL $90.00

TASTING NOTE: One of the stand outs of the vintage, Lisini's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino fleshes out in all directions with gorgeous, expansive richness. The flavors are dark, bold and incisive, yet backed up by notable freshness. A crescendo of incredibly pure dark red and black stone fruits builds on the huge finish. The 2010 is dazzling, but readers will have to be patient. Drinking window: 2018-2035. Score: 95+ (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Feb. 2015)

SOLDERA SANGIOVESE 2009
IGT Toscana

402271 (XD) 750mL $748.00

TASTING NOTE: Soldera's next release is the 2009 Toscana Sangiovese, which is still in cask. The raciness, warmth and overall intensity of the year come through in a powerful, structured wine that still needs time to fully come together. The tannins remain quite imposing, but I am inclined to think the 2009 will open up earlier than is typically the case here. We will see. I remember visiting Case Basse in the summer of 2009, a few weeks before this fruit was harvested. It is fascinating to taste the 2009 again from cask, a few months before it goes into bottle. Drinking window: 2017-2039. Score: 92-95 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Feb. 2015)

TABARRINI COLLE ALLE MACCHIE MONTEFALCO SAGRANTINO 2011
DOCG

406371 (D) 750mL $68.00

TASTING NOTE: Raspberry coulis and dried fig notes are rich and ripe in this well-knit red. Defined by sleek tannins, this is full-bodied and dense, but the notes of fruit, dried thyme, leather, bergamot and coffee are accessible and aromatic, lingering on the lasting, minerally finish. Drink now through 2026. 250 cases made. Highly Recommended. Score: 94 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, April 30, 2016)

SAN RUSTICO GASO AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO 2009
DOCG

958108 (D) 750mL $54.00

This wine was ranked no. 78 on the 2015 Wine Enthusiast Top 100 Wines.

TASTING NOTE: Baked plum, fragrant blue flower, sweet baking spice, eucalyptus and a balsamic note are just some of the aromas you'll find on this bold, delicious wine. The round, smooth palate delivers layers of ripe wild cherry, raspberry compote, mocha, vanilla, star anise and a hint of raisin alongside velvety, enveloping tannins that give it a silky texture. Despite the big structure, it has an almost weightless feel. Score: 94 (Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 31, 2015)

QUINTA DOS MURÇAS RESERVA 2011
DOC Douro

427229 (XD) 750mL $42.00

TASTING NOTE: Made from old vines, this is a powerful wine that is reminiscent of a dry Port. This gives the wine density and richness, along with firm tannins and flavors from the wood aging. The black fruits are still developing, showing youthful freshness. This intense wine has plenty of development ahead of it; drink from 2018. Score: 94 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 2015)

EL PUNTIDO 2011
DOCa Rioja

470609 (D) 750mL $69.00

TASTING NOTE: Grown at the upper limits (600m-630m) for Tempranillo, this single vineyard of 25ha is situated just below the town of Laguardia on bony soils. It's a very chalky, mineral wine that combines power with acidity. Complex, spicy and refreshing, with skilfully handled new oak and great ageing potential. Drink: 2017-2030. Score: 97 (Tim Atkin, MW, decanter.com, Feb. 16, 2016)

ALIDIS GRAN RESERVA 2006
DO Ribera del Duero

466227 (D) 750mL $69.00

TASTING NOTE: This is earthy, cool and foresty on the bouquet, with a coconut note that accents the wine's deep berry aromas. It feels smooth and nicely balanced, with modest tannins and toasty, oaky flavors of spiced blackberry and licorice. Smooth and subtle on the finish, this is ripe, stylish and ready to drink now. Score: 93 (Michael Schachner, Wine Enthusiast, Nov. 2012)

VIÑA TONDONIA RESERVA 2004
DOC Rioja

356337 (D) 750mL $52.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2004 Viña Tondonia Reserva is a completely different story. It is a worthy follower of the 2001, the greatest of the Viña Tondonia Reservas of recent times. It has the usual blend and usual levels of alcohol and acidity, bottled after six years in oak barrels. The nose feels savory (if that's possible-umami?) and developed, with tertiary aromas and good balance between spices, leathery notes, cherries and balsamic notes of cigar box and incense. The palate is both round and crisp, with refined tannins. It has very good balance with subtle acidity and very good persistence. Drink: 2015-2024. Score: 94 (Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com, April 2015)

TAWSE MERITAGE 2012
VQA Niagara Peninsula

111963 (D) 750mL $59.95

TASTING NOTE: This represents the top Meritage from the renowned Tawse. Hand-harvested, this offers suggestions of dried cherries, blueberry, red licorice, raspberry, cassis, earth and mineral notes on the nose. The palate is firm, ripe, elegant and long, with lively purple fruit and more cassis, earth and mineral notes throughout. A robust and terrifically impressive wine. (VINTAGES panel, April 2016)

QUAILS' GATE STEWART FAMILY RESERVE PINOT NOIR 2014
BC VQA Okanagan Valley

639658 (XD) 750mL $54.00

The Quails' Gate Stewart Family Reserve Pinot Noir is sourced from volcanic soils of the Mount Boucherie bench, which play a large part in imparting the complexity and refinement that have become benchmarks of their flagship offering. Crafted in a style that favours complex ripe fruit with underlying spices and herbal notes, this is made from vines averaging between 12 and 29 years of age, and will exhibit superb richness and power while maintaining a silky elegance.

QUAILS' GATE STEWART FAMILY RESERVE CHARDONNAY 2014
BC VQA Okanagan Valley

639641 (XD) 750mL $44.00

The vines for Quails' Gate's flagship white wine were planted in 1996 on Mount Boucherie Bench, where their flagship red wine, the Stewart Family Reserve Pinot Noir is also sourced. Quails' Gate owns a tremendous reputation for the artful integration and balanced application of oak in this intense and concentrated Chardonnay. Crafted in a wholly New World style, it will offer a complex and butter mouthfeel with impressive peach, melon, spice, smoke and vanilla tones. This will be a wine worth following, as it will certainly develop even more complexity over the next 5+ years.

TORBRECK THE FACTOR 2012
Barossa Valley

97378 (XD) 750mL $160.00

TASTING NOTE: The fragrance and poise of the 2012 Factor shiraz are exciting. This is arguably the best they've made with fine, complex spices and tar. Some toasty oak asserts itself but doesn't dominate and there's a tarry, black-fruit element with some graphite. This has richness and balance. Super-concentrated blackberries and sweetly spiced plum-fruit flavors combine with fine tannins. Very dense, super fresh, muscular, lithe, sturdy and assertive. This has all the makings of a modern Barossa classic. Drink in 2020. Score: 96 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Jan. 27, 2015)

CLARENDON HILLS LIANDRA SYRAH 2009
McLaren Vale, South Australia

702332 (XD) 750mL $89.00

TASTING NOTE: Very deep purple-black colored, the 2009 Liandra Vineyard Syrah displays aromas of warm plums, black cherry compote and yeast extract over notes of dark chocolate, toast, licorice and bacon. Concentrated and full bodied on the palate, it has a good level of crisp acid and medium-firm, grainy tannins, finishing long and savory. Approachable now, it should drink to 2022+. Drink: 2012-2022. Score: 94 (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Feb. 2012)

TORBRECK DESCENDANT 2009
Barossa Valley, South Australia

97329 (XD) 750mL $167.00

TASTING NOTE: Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2009 Descendent has 8% co-fermented Viognier in the blend which lends lovely floral, peach blossom and violet aromas to complement an intense blueberry preserves, dark chocolate and star anise aromatic core. Very full and rich, it has a lovely acid vibrancy alongside medium to firm, very fine tannins and a long finish. Drink it from 2015 to 2025+. Score: 97+ (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Feb. 2013)

VILLA MARIA SINGLE VINEYARD SOUTHERN CLAYS PINOT NOIR 2014
Marlborough, South Island

466060 (XD) 750mL $60.00

TASTING NOTE: Exciting bouquet - immensely floral with wild flowers, wild red berries, warm summer air and intensely mineral. Fresh, crunchy, juicy palate, dry stone, dusty clay, abundant tannins, complex, long finish. Drink: 2017-2025. Score: 95 (Decanter, Dec. 2015)

MAIN DIVIDE PINOT NOIR 2013
Waipara, South Island

57752 (XD) 750mL $33.00

TASTING NOTE: With a dark cherry and chocolate nose here, this has deep ripeness and an alluring, seductively spicy set of aromas. The palate is sturdy with a good frame and deep tannin drive, fruit flesh coats the entire length and the balance is good. A lot of pinot here - terrific value. Drink now. Score: 93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, May 5, 2015)

ZUCCARDI ALUVIONAL ALTAMIRA MALBEC 2012
Uco Valley

468058 (D) 750mL $80.00

TASTING NOTE: The aroma to this is etheral with dark berries, flowers and hints of salt and chalk. Full body with incredible texture and purity. Dark berries and blueberries but superb mouthfeel. Amazing quality from relatively young vines. Silk. Drink now or hold. Score: 96 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, June 11, 2014)

ERRÁZURIZ DON MAXIMIANO FOUNDER'S RESERVE 2013
Aconcagua Valley

501247 (XD) 750mL $80.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Don Maximiano Founder's Reserve, sourced from a cool vintage, is a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec, 6% Carménère and 5% Petit Verdot; it fermented in small stainless steel vats and matured in French oak barrels (65% new) for 22 moths. It has a very classical nose, a Bordeaux blend with aromas of blackberries, faint balsamic notes, cedar wood, graphite, cigar box, cracked peppercorns and tobacco leaves. It has a lot less new oak than the vintages of yesteryear. The palate is medium to full-bodied with the telltale Cabernet tannins, juicy fruit, and tension keeping the freshness balancing the sweet fruit. One of the finest versions of Don Maximiano. 73,800 bottled in March 2015. Score: 93 (Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com, Dec. 2015)

KOSTA-BROWNE PINOT NOIR 2014
Sonoma Coast

359034 (XD) 750mL $162.00

The 2014 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir was sourced from a number of ocean cooled vineyards, specifically chosen for the cooler temperatures they experience as a result of the Petaluma Wind Gap and the influence of San Pablo Bay. The vineyards used were Gap's Crown, Goldrock, Griffin's Lair, Kanzler, Klopp and Walala. The resulting wine will offer lifted floral aromatics with herbs, earth and wood notes anchoring the nose. You can expect this to be poised and fresh, in keeping with where it was sourced, with the bright and prominent ripe fruit typical of the vintage.

KOSTA-BROWNE PINOT NOIR 2014
Russian River Valley

359026 (XD) 750mL $162.00

The 2014 vintage was, for many in California, as near to perfect as you could hope for. Kosta-Browne sourced their Russian River Pinot from a number of vineyards, including Castaldi, Gantz, Giusti, Jenkins, Keefer Estate, Koplen, Laguna Valdez, Lucky Well, Martinelli Moonshine and Zio Tony, capturing the essence of the spectacular 2014 growing season as expressed by some of the finest sites available. You can expect a structured and broadly textured wine with impressive floral and fruit tones. The Kosta-Browne Russian River Valley Pinot Noir's are notably ageable and this should prove to be no exception, rewarding cellaring up to 2022+.

CLIFF LEDE POETRY CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2013
Stags Leap District

14209 (XD) 750mL $399.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Poetry reveals a rather inky, bluish/purple color. A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot, this wine is super-youthful and still tastes somewhat like a barrel sample. It's bursting with upside potential. Inky purple to the rim, with notes of crème de cassis, black cherry liqueur, licorice, spice and a touch of vanilla, this is a full-bodied, concentrated and an utterly profound wine that may represent the greatest wine that Cliff Lede has made to date. Forget it for another 5-6 years and drink it over the following 30 years. Drink: 2016-2046. Score: 100 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Dec. 2015)

KATHRYN HALL CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2013
Napa Valley

331140 (XD) 750mL $259.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Kathryn Hall from their Sacrashe Rutherford Vineyard delivers a relatively profound set of aromatics even for a wine that's only 11 months of age. With almost unreal richness of blue and black fruits, spring flowers, graphite and spice, this is a sensational inky, full-bodied wine that will come close to being a perfect wine when bottled after its full élevage in barrel. Spectacular! Drink: 2014-2034. Score: 98-100 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Oct. 2014)

QUINTESSA 2013
Napa Valley

391086 (XD) 750mL $230.00

TASTING NOTE: This is really fantastic on the nose with blackberry, blueberry, lavender, and violets. Even sage. Full body plus extremely integrated tannins that are polished and refined. The balance and harmony is phenomenal. Goes on for minutes. Beautiful now but will satisfy for decades. Score: 98 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, May 3, 2016)

KAPCSANDY FAMILY WINERY CABERNET GRAND VIN 2012
North Coast

470922 (D) 750mL $750.00

TASTING NOTE: The perfect 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Vin State Lane Vineyard is 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot aged 20 months in 100% new French oak. I think this is the third perfect score I've given to this wine, which is the essence of their vineyard, representing about 13% of the total production, or a mere 320 cases. The wine has a gorgeously opaque purple color and a beautiful nose of camphor, charcoal, blackberry and cr?me de cassis with licorice and truffle. It has unbelievable richness, great texture, tremendous finesse, precision and delineation. Very intense, full-bodied and super-pure, the length of the wine must be at least 50+ seconds. This is a gorgeous wine and one of the great superstars of this fabulous vintage. Drink it over the next 25-30 years. Score: 100 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Oct. 2015)

AUBERT LARRY HYDE & SONS VINEYARD CHARDONNAY 2014
Carneros

390831 (XD) 750mL $190.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2014 Chardonnay Larry Hyde and Sons is a bigger wine, no doubt the alcohol slightly higher, but the acids are present. The wine reveals terrific white peach and honeysuckle notes along with some quince and marmalade. Rich, full, powerful and long, it is a stunner that should drink well for 10-15 years. Drink: 2016-2031. Score: 95-97 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Dec. 2015)

STONESTREET UPPER BARN CHARDONNAY 2013
Alexander Valley, Sonoma County

253542 (XD) 750mL $115.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Upper Barn, a vineyard that Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer made famous, spends 11 months in 49% new French oak and is fermented with indigenous yeasts. This is all Old Wente clone material, planted in 1982, so it's among the older Chardonnay vineyards in Northern California. This wine always seems to have great acidity and loads of orange blossom, marmalade, honeysuckle and lemon blossom characteristics. The 2013 Upper Barn Vineyard (963 cases) is a beauty and certainly one of my favorites of this group. Drink: 2015-2021. Score: 93 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Oct. 2015)

PHELPS CREEK CUVEE ALEXANDRINE PINOT NOIR 2013
Columbia Gorge

462895 (XD) 750mL $80.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Pinot Noir Cuvee Alexandrine was cropped at 23.8 Brix and saw 25% new French oak. The bouquet is very well defined with bright red cherry and strawberry fruit, subtle tertiary notes and woodland scents that are imbued with a very Burgundian sensory profile. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, a grainy texture, tensile red and black fruit with superb focus and delineation on the finish. This is a superb Pinot Noir: classic in style, sophisticated and intellectual. Drink: 2016-2026. Score: 93 (Neal Martin, robertparker.com, March 2015)

RÉSONANCE PINOT NOIR 2013
Yamhill-Carlton

467696 (XD) 750mL $90.00

TASTING NOTE: The eagerly anticipated first release from Maison Louis Jadot's Oregon project does not disappoint. Long time Jadot winemaker Jacques Lardière has put all his heart and expertise into this wine, sourced from a much-loved vineyard recently acquired by the firm. Concentrated raspberry purée comes through in both aroma and flavor, with laser focus. It's a magical combination of finesse, silkiness and strident youth, with 20 years of aging potential. Drink now through 2035. Cellar Selection. Score: 94 (Paul Gregutt, Wine Enthusiast, April 2016)

DUCKHORN CANVASBACK CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2013
Red Mountain

467795 (XD) 750mL $59.00

TASTING NOTE: Ripe and smooth with dense fruit and spice; dark, lush and long with lovely depth and style; balanced and deep. Score: 92 (Anthony Dias Blue, tastingpanelmag.com, Feb./March 2016)

MOULIN TOUCHAIS 1996
AC Coteaux du Layon

457721 (S) 750mL $52.00

TASTING NOTE: The most recent release of Moulin Touchais (for more about whose unusual operation, see my report in issue 172) is a 1996 Coteaux du Layon that illustrates the striking combination of mineral and nobly sweet characteristics that were possible in this unusual vintage, though its notoriously high acidity is scarcely noticeable thanks to the balance lent by high sugar and the harmony conveyed by time in bottle. Alkaline and wet stone aromas here approach the effect of sticking one's head down a moss- and algae-covered cistern, accompanied by scents of lily, narcissus, quince preserves, stale bread, musk, and sweat. The rich quince character is carried and complimented by a juicy and not at all heavy palate impression, and this finishes with remarkable refreshment and pronouncedly alkaline and stony minerality, as well as snuffed candle wick smokiness and bitterness of quinine. Prices for these wines continue to be quite reasonable considering their combination of quality and late release that permits access to mature nobly sweet Chenin. Such access was still nearly universal in the early '80s, when Terry Theise first piqued my interest in nobly sweet Loire Chenin, but gradually the art of holding old stocks died, along with the fashion for these wines - indeed, along with many once-renowned domaines. Score: 90 (David Schildknecht, robertparker.com, Aug. 2010)

QUINTA DO PORTAL VINTAGE PORT 2009
DOP

374827 (S) 750mL $55.00

TASTING NOTE: Suave, with plenty of grip to the fresh and focused flavors of wild plum, salted almond and wild berry. Hints of marzipan show in the pepper- and spice-filled finish. Drink now through 2035. Score: 93 (Kim Marcus, winespectator.com, 2013)

TAYLOR FLADGATE 30-YEAR-OLD TAWNY PORT
DOP

540252 (S) 750mL $183.00

Though this release will be a different bottling than that that reviewed by John Szabo, MS, the key components of his notes will remain true to form in this release.

TASTING NOTE: This release of Taylor Fladgate's 30 year old tawny was bottled in 2014, and shows clear and evident maturity. At this stage, virtually all of the fruit has shifted into the fully dried/rancio spectrum or disappeared altogether in favour of purely nutty, treacle, caramel, old wood, old canvas, caramelized orange peel notes, and so much more. Where this port really excels, however is on the palate. The texture is absolutely beguiling, firm yet silky, taught yet giving and generous, with a finish that rivals War and Peace for sheer length. This is truly an extraordinary tawny, which admittedly, even at this price, is a remarkable bargain considering that there is some wine from the 19th century included in the blend. Sheer elegance. Outstanding barely begins to cover this wine. Score: 98 (John Szabo, MS, winealign.com, Aug. 28, 2014)

TAYLOR FLADGATE 40 YEAR OLD TAWNY PORT
DOC

540260 (S) 750mL $245.00

TASTING NOTE: The best age designation for tawny port is a matter of much debate, with many preferring 20 or 30 year-olds over the 40s, much like similar discussion in the Scotch world where you reach a point of diminishing returns with time. This is evidently reaching into the depths of dried and caramelized fruit character, to the point where fruit is really no longer a dominate element. Aromatic potency is curtailed at this age, and while the aromatics are beguiling, this is a wine that beguiles more on the palate with the inimitable texture that can only evolve with significant extended ageing. Personally, I enjoy a touch more vitality, while volatile acidity and alcohol vapors tend to dominate the finish. I suspect the spirit used to fortify the majority of these wines was more rustic than what has been used in more recent times. In any case, this is an amazing wine, and still a relative value in the context. Tasted August 2014. Score: 96 (John Szabo, MS, winealign.com, Aug. 28, 2014)

GONZÁLEZ BYASS DEL DUQUE VORS AMONTILLADO
DO Jerez

694331 (XD) 375mL $40.00

TASTING NOTE: The NV Amontillado del Duque VORS is Palomino of at least 30 years of age from the Tio Pepe solera. The color is dark amber, with a very powerful nose of old wood, candied fruit and walnuts. The sharpness of the palate is somehow balanced by an off-dry feeling which makes it very drinkable. Drink 2013-2019. Score: 94 (Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com, Aug. 2013)

LUSTAU PATA DE GALLINA ALMACENISTA OLOROSO SHERRY
DOP

471110 (S) 500mL $39.00

Founded in 1986, today Lustau is one of the leading producers of Sherry. This example will be filled with the characteristic nut tones, think hazelnut and almond, beloved in Sherry. Do not be surprised to discover notions of baked fruits, chocolate, coffee and caramel with fine saline tones. The Almacenista Oloroso Sherry will be complex and fresh with a fine acidity and an elegant disposition.

THE MACALLAN 1824 SERIES NO. 6 HIGHLAND SINGLE MALT

414284 750mL $4,999.00

The Macallan 1824 Series was created with an eye to highlighting the range of colours, all naturally created, of Macallan whiskies. The collection moves from lighter expressions to darker, perfectly matching the type of casks and aging regimens applied. The No. 6 was aged in handcrafted, first fill Spanish sherry-seasoned oak casks created in the Jerez de la Frontera cooperage. These casks play a huge part in creating the rich spice, dried fruit and citrus tones of this silky smooth, sumptuous and soft Macallan.

THE MACALLAN REFLEXION HIGHLAND SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY

414250 750mL $1,599.00

This was aged in both first fill sherry and American oak casks. A significant percentage was aged in smaller hogshead casks, which allow for more direct contact between the whisky and the wood, and impart even more complexity and nuanced colour, aromas and flavours. You can expect to uncover notes of orange citrus, chocolate, caramel, aniseed and sweet oak aromas. The palate will suggest citrus, cinnamon and ginger spice, along with notes of dried fruit and smoke.
