HENNESSY RICHARD XO COGNAC

438929 750mL $6,585.00

TASTING NOTE: Richard Hennessy is the masterpiece of the Hennessy collection of cognac. Even the bottle itself is a hand-crafted crystal decanter that takes 40 hours to create. Richard Hennessy is a blend of 100 eau de vie aged up to 200 years, with the youngest 45 years old and the oldest 200 years. This is a more savory cognac, with slightly floral and savory, mushroom notes on the nose. There is some heat on the palate, with a more savory flavor with hints of mushroom, subtle vanilla, and some grape notes in the finish. (Heather Kleinman, drinkspirits.com, March 14, 2011)

HENNESSY PARADIS EXTRA RARE COGNAC

208298 750mL $1,540.00

TASTING NOTE: It's made from several hundred eaux-de-vie aged 25 to 130 years and on the decadence scale is like crème brûlée made with foie gras. Words kind of fail, but I'll try: lavishly creamy, with a floral-citrus fragrance and slowly unfolding layers of caramelized sugar, chocolate, orange, banana and spice cake. Or maybe a rhyme is best: First pass the Courvoisier 21, then pass the Paradis and I'm done. Score: 96 (Beppi Crosariol, theglobeandmail.com, Nov. 29, 2011)

RÉMY MARTIN LOUIS XIII GRANDE CHAMPAGNE COGNAC
In Gift Box, AC

650085 1500mL $7,000.00

The Rémy Martin Louis XIII is as close to magic in a bottle as one could hope for. Though the Wine Enthusiast review below is from 2007, it does reflect the enchanting assortment of floral, spice and fruit notes that will be found here. Long live the King, indeed.

TASTING NOTE: The aroma features fig, prune, pastry dough, honey and maple scents. On palate, Louis XIII offers long and intensely woody flavors; additional layers of flavor, including figs, dates, prunes, dried apricot and vanilla, are featured at midpalate. Finishes elegantly, warm, smooth and more oaky than fruity succulent. Only minor rancio. Score: 92 (Wine Enthusiast, Oct. 2007)

CHÂTEAU BOURGNEUF 2014
AC Pomerol

300392 (XD) 750mL $63.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2014 Bourgneuf is round, supple and expressive, with lovely nuance. Succulent black cherries, plums, smoke, spice and licorice notes blossom effortlessly in the glass. The pliant finish and suave tannins both suggest the 2014 will drink well relatively early, yet it also clearly has the stuffing to develop beautifully in bottle for many years. This is an especially silky, finessed style. Score: 90-93 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, April 2015)

CHÂTEAU CLINET 2011
AC Pomerol

478354 (XD) 750mL $202.00

TASTING NOTE: Clinet has produced a blockbuster wine, even in the lighter, less consistent vintage of 2011. It reveals a dense purple color as well as an abundance of black cherry, black currant and blackberry fruit intermixed with licorice, incense and a touch of camphor. Full-bodied, opulent and fleshy with a substantial finish, this showy, dramatic 2011 should drink well for 15-20 years. Brilliant! Drink Date: 2013-2033. Score: 95 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, April 29, 2014)

CHÂTEAU D'ARMAILHAC 2010
AC Pauillac

473298 (XD) 750mL $128.00

TASTING NOTE: Dense, juicy and inviting, with bouncy briar, blackberry, steeped black currant and melted black licorice notes framed by roasted apple wood and graphite notes. The finish courses along with good definition. Energetic and tempting, but the gripping, iron-laden finish will benefit from cellaring. Best from 2017 through 2030. Score: 93 (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, March 31, 2013)

CHÂTEAU ROUGET 2010
AC Pomerol

473306 (XD) 750mL $106.00

TASTING NOTE: An absolutely stunning example from this up-and-coming estate, which has been performing on all cylinders of late, the 2010 Rouget has a dense plum/purple color, a beautifully sweet, expansive nose of spice box and a touch of toasty oak as well as copious quantities of black currants, cherries and plum. Supple and full-bodied, with a powerful mouthfeel and a hint of graphite, this is a deep rich, full-throttle, very sexy and opulent Rouget to drink over the next 15 or more years. Score: 93 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Feb. 27, 2013)

CHÂTEAU RAUZAN-SÉGLA 2008
AC Margaux

300616 (XD) 750mL $157.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2008 Rauzan-Segla (62% Cabernet Sauvignon and 38% Merlot) was made from 45% of the production. It is a beautiful wine in this vintage, not nearly as powerful and structured as the 2010, but it has complex notes of sweet red and black fruits, unsmoked cigar tobacco, spice box and a hint of very subtle wood. The complex perfume is followed by a dark ruby/plum-colored wine with beautifully sweet tannins, a silky, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, and a long finish. This outstanding Margaux should drink nicely for 15-20 years. Drink Date: 2010-2030. Score: 90+ (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, May 1, 2011)

LOUIS MAX NUITS SAINT GEORGES LES DAMODES 1ER CRU 2014
AC

469080 (D) 750mL $94.00

TASTING NOTE: This is powerful and very rich. Quite spicy and intense. Wonderful character. Score: 92-93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, June 19, 2015)

DUPONT-TISSERANDOT MAZIS-CHAMBERTIN GRAND CRU 2012
AC

473264 (XD) 750mL $217.00

TASTING NOTE: This is spicy, with underlying flavors of cherry, plum, mineral, earth and tobacco. Saturated midpalate, this combines power and finesse, showing harmony and a long, complex aftertaste. Iron and graphite details linger. Best from 2019 through 2035. Score: 95 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, Oct. 31, 2015)

MARCHAND-TAWSE NUITS ST. GEORGES LES DAMODES 1ER CRU 2011
AC

469403 (D) 750mL $93.00

TASTING NOTE: This is intensely floral with the typical mineral and game nuances on the red currant and blue berry aromas that are suffused with plenty of earth influence that continues onto the firm, serious and mouth coating flavors. This is very Nuits and has plenty of finishing rigor with moderate austerity as the stems are quite perceptible here though this character usually fades with bottle age. Outstanding. Drink: 2021+. Score: 90-93 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, Jan. 14, 2013)

RENÉ BOUVIER ÉCHEZAUX GRAND CRU 2011
AC

473314 (D) 750mL $242.00

TASTING NOTE: A wine with power and structure from one of the great Grand Crus of Burgundy. The wines have weight with generous red fruits and a great sense of depth, and are very firm at the end. The vines are managed by Bernard Bouvier. Score: 94 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Sept. 2014)

LOUIS JADOT POMMARD RUGIENS 1ER CRU 2010
AC

47860 (XD) 750mL $124.00

TASTING NOTE: Here the very toasty oak aromas presently dominate the otherwise ripe underlying fruit. There is good freshness and verve to the exceptionally rich, powerful and concentrated broad-shouldered flavors that exude a finer minerality that continues onto the gorgeously long finish. There is so much density of material that it seems reasonably certain that the strong toast will be successfully integrated in time. A very impressive showing though again I underscore that this is only for the patient. Outstanding. Drink: 2025+. Score: 91-94 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, April 2012)

LOUIS JADOT CHAPELLE-CHAMBERTIN GRAND CRU 2006
AC

124842 (XD) 750mL $300.00

TASTING NOTE: Medium red. Pungent red berries, rose petal, gingerbread and musky underbrush on the nose, with a sappy suggestion of raspberry liqueur emerging with air. Silky and light on its feet, with penetrating red berry and spice flavors given energy on the back end by powerful minerality and captivating floral lift. The liqueur-like raspberry quality seemed to come and go as I drained this bottle to the dregs over a period of 48 hours. Has the tannic spine to support a leisurely evolution in bottle. Score: 93 (Stephen Tanzer, vinous.com, March 2009)

CHÂTEAU DE LA MALTROYE CHASSAGNE-MONTRACHET MORGEOT 1ER CRU 2014
AC

473918 (D) 750mL $97.00

TASTING NOTE: Very reduced aromas and flavors of lemon, lime and crushed stone. Quite dense and ripe, but with excellent energy and delicacy on the mid-palate. The taut citrus flavors are joined by saline minerality on the finish, which is youthfully tight but already conveys sneaky length. Cournut noted that this wine is always closed in barrel, then opens quickly in bottle, whereas it's the other way around for the Santenay La Comme. Score: 90-92 (Stephen Tanzer, vinous.com, Sept. 2015)

REMI JOBARD MEURSAULT LES NARVAUX 2014
AC

975870 (XD) 750mL $88.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2014 Meursault Narvaux comes from the lieu-dit of "Les Narvaux-Dessous" from vines planted 55 years ago. The nose displays fine mineralité with light granite scents infusing the citrus fruit and tinned apricot. This is tightly wound at the moment and will need three or four years to open. The palate is medium-bodied with a harmonious opening, hints of almond and spice informing the entry, sedate almost yet with fine tension on the finish. This is one of the domaine's best offerings in 2014 and should reward several years in bottle. Drink 2016-2027. Score: 90-92 (Neal Martin, robertparker.com, Oct. 12, 2015)

DOMAINE CHANSON CORTON VERGENNES GRAND CRU 2013
AC

288324 (XD) 750mL $187.00

Domaine Chanson has been producing wines in Burgundy since 1750 and is one of the most readily recognizable names from this storied region. Vergennes is a climat within the Corton Grand Cru. Only about 5% of the wines produced in Corton are Chardonnay, the rest being Pinot Noir. This will be a rich, tight and structured wine with the flinty mineral tones for which the region is noted.

DOMAINE LOUIS MICHEL & FILS FORÊTS CHABLIS 1ER CRU 2013
AC

231936 (XD) 750mL $45.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Chablis Forêts is a little richer and more powerful than the Montmains owing to the slightly warmer microclimate. At the same time, the heavy presence of limestone in these soils yields a wine with bright, saline-infused minerality and considerable steely tension. Drinking window: 2015+. Score: 90-92 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Aug. 2014)

BILLAUD-SIMON VAUDÉSIR CHABLIS GRAND CRU 2009
AC

328336 (D) 750mL $92.00

TASTING NOTE: The estate's 2009 Chablis Vaudésir is one of the more understated selections in this lineup. It is less minerally intense than some of the other wines, but makes up for that with its generous fruit and warm, radiant personality. This is another excellent choice for nearer term drinking, although I don't exclude the possibility that it may also age quite well given the freshness of the finish. Score: 93 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Aug. 2011)

PASCAL MARCHAND CORTON-CHARLEMAGNE GRAND CRU 2009
AC

469387 (XD) 750mL $156.00

"Pascal Marchand must be one of the most envied men in Burgundy...as a winemaker he is able to get his hands on grapes from 14 different grand cru vineyards and...now makes about 60 different burgundies every vintage ..." (Jancis Robinson, May 3, 2014, Jancis Robinson.com). His 2009 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru will be a ripe and floral wine with impressive acidity and minerality.

VINCENT GIRARDIN BÂTARD-MONTRACHET 2009
AC

473322 (D) 750mL $400.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2009 Bâtard-Montrachet is wonderfully layered, fresh and vibrant. It possesses remarkable tension and focus, with layers of fruit that flow effortlessly from its focused, mid-weight frame. All sorts of slate and crushed rocks wrap around the intense finish. DOMAINE DU VIEUX TÉLÉGRAPHE CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE 2013
AC

951475 (XD) 750mL $105.00

TASTING NOTE: The top cuvee is the 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape, and it's always a rough blend of 65% Grenache (mostly not destemmed), 15% each of Syrah and Mourvedre, and the rest Cinsault and other permitted varieties. Aged all in foudre, it offers classic rolled-stone-like minerality, spice, licorice and dark fruits to go with medium-bodied richness and depth, integrated acidity and fine tannin. This will be a classic Châteauneuf du Pape that will evolve nicely for 10-15 years. Score: 91-93 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Sept. 20, 2014)

DOMAINE LES PAILLIÈRES LES RACINES GIGONDAS 2012
AC

473991 (D) 750mL $49.00

TASTING NOTE: Full ruby. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes ripe red and dark berries, potpourri and minerals, with a hint of star anise in the background. Stains the palate with intense black raspberry and floral pastille flavors that deepen and become sweeter with air. Fine-grained tannins build on the strikingly long, focused finish, which leaves notes of cherry compote and licorice behind. Drinking window: 2019-2024. Score: 93 (Josh Raynolds, vinous.com, May 2015)

M. CHAPOUTIER LE PAVILLON ERMITAGE 2012
AC

702043 (XD) 750mL $733.00

TASTING NOTE: Sharing some similarities to the le Meal (yet its from a very different terroir), with its full-bodied, decadent, heavenly profile that somehow stays pure, poised and elegant, the 2012 Ermitage le Pavillon (767 cases) offers an extraordinary perfume of cassis, raspberries, crushed flowers, powdered rock and smoked earth. Coming all from the granite soils of the les Bessards lieu-dit, which produces some of the most muscular, concentrated wines on the planet, this serious 2012 is more approachable than either the 2009 or 2010, yet certainly is at the same level of quality. Give it 6-7 years in the cellar and enjoy it through 2042. Score: 100 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Nov. 7, 2014)

M. CHAPOUTIER LE MÉAL ERMITAGE BLANC 2012
AC

328252 (XD) 750mL $365.00

TASTING NOTE: A wine that seems to pack more and more quality with each vintage, the 2012 Ermitage le Meal Blanc is borderline perfection, and didn't lose a beat being served beside the de l'Orée and l'Ermite. Flamboyant, ripe, honeyed and decadent, with thrilling white currants, buttered citrus, orange blossom and licorice, it too is a massive wine that will have decades of life. Make no mistake though, it's gorgeous even today. Score: 99 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Nov. 8, 2014)

BOECKEL BRANDLUFT VIEILLES VIGNES RIESLING 2013
AC Alsace

469718 (D) 750mL $29.00

TASTING NOTE: Yellow plum, sweet apple and juicy pear form an appetizing, aromatic trinity. Those apple flavors, some of them fresh, some bruised, some baked, become the central theme of the lemon-focused palate. With some time, honeyed notes come to the fore and suggest that many things still lie hidden in this fruit-laden Riesling. The finish is dry, the entire wine is focused and still taut. It's delicious now but will reward cellaring. Drink 2015-2025. Score: 92 (Anne Krebiehl, MW, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 31, 2015)

DOM PÉRIGNON BRUT CHAMPAGNE 2005
AC

461145 (XD) 1500mL $653.00

TASTING NOTE: I believe that the 2005 DP is the best since 2002, which remains the best recent vintage and is probably only eclipsed by the amazing 100-point 1996. The 2005 is a full-bodied DP with so much richness and loads of ripe fruit such as pineapple and papaya. It has a wonderful, creamy texture and a long and intense finish. It's a Champagne that fully satisfies but at the same time challenges you with its strength, depth and persistence on the palate. Score: 97 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, July 9, 2015)

DOM PÉRIGNON BRUT ROSÉ VINTAGE CHAMPAGNE 2004

TASTING NOTE: There's power to this vivid rosé Champagne, harnessed by a silky texture and a sense of finesse. POL ROGER SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL BRUT CHAMPAGNE 2004
AC

958678 (XD) 750mL $247.00

TASTING NOTE: Sir Winston is looking particularly dignified and refined in 2004, with a surprisingly primary, youthful air, yet all the understated poise that one can expect of this classic cuvée. A cascade of impeccably refined acidity swirls into a river of minerality that flows deep and swift all the way to the distant horizon. Effortless grace and youthful vigour lurk under that distinguished exterior. Drink: 2015-2034. Score: 98 (Tyson Stelzer, decanter.com, Nov. 11, 2015)

TASTING NOTE: A lovely, lacy Champagne, with ripe apricot, fennel seed and espresso aromas. This caresses the palate with a finely detailed mousse and expansive flavors of pineapple pâte de fruit, toasted brioche, fleur de sel and grated ginger. Long and chalky on the finish, this is a prima ballerina, showing power cloaked in grace. Disgorged winter 2015. Drink now through 2032. Collectibles. TASTING NOTE: Offers precision and finely detailed form, powered by an expansive palate of flavor. The layers of ripe crushed blackberry and glazed apricot fruit complement the saline-tinged minerality and oyster shell notes, graced by hints of pastry, honeycomb and exotic spice. DOMAINE DES BAUMARD CLOS DE SAINT YVES SAVENNIÈRES 2014
AC

16717 (XD) 750mL $34.00

TASTING NOTE: Florent Baumard grows this chenin on 15 acres of shale and sand over sandstone. The flavors touch on cool apple notes and soil-driven earthiness, but the wine is mostly about texture, luscious and deep, integrating some residual sugar so that it feels round but tastes savory. A pleasure to drink now, this will age well over the next five years. Score: 90 (Tasting panel, wineandspiritsmagazine.com, April 2016)

TASTING NOTE: This exotic wine is starting to show burnished, mature flavors of citronella and lanolin, along with marzipan, date, creamed papaya, ginger and dried apricot. TASTING NOTE: The 2012 Minervois La Ciaude, which is mostly old-vine Carignan with smaller parts Syrah and Grenache, also has serious minerality to go with tangy black cherry, black fruits, leather and violet aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied, tight, energetic and elegant, it will have a decade of longevity. Drink Date: 2013-2023. Score: 91 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, April 29, 2014)

473926 (D) 750mL $44.00

TASTING NOTE: Blueberry, blackberry, smoke and white pepper unite to create a mysterious, almost brooding impression. This is still tightly coiled, but the flowing, silky-smooth palate with its slender poise and core of freshness suggest that with a little bottle age, this will emerge as a supremely elegant, subtly fruited wine. The finish turns away from darker fruit and ends on ripe, red cherry. Score: 93 (Anne Krebiehl, MW, Wine Enthusiast, July 2015)

EGON MULLER-SCHARZHOF SCHARZHOFBERGER RIESLING AUSLESE 2015
QmP

469361 (MS) 750mL $559.00

The Egon Müller-Scharzhof Scharzhofberger Riesling Auslese will be a traditionally styled Riesling. Auslese is a term that denotes a wine made from particularly ripe grapes. This results in a wine that it typically sweeter and more concentrated than those designated as Spätlese. Auslese wines cannot be produced in every year. This one is from one of the most storied vineyards in the world.

EGON MÜLLER-SCHARZHOF RIESLING SCHARZHOFBERGER SPÄTLESE 2015
QmP

116269 (MS) 750mL $189.00

When one speaks of German winemaking, few names stir such passion as Egon Müller. Established in 1797, this producer is considered to be Germany's most illustrious, having built an unshakable reputation upon the quality and ageability of the wines they produce. Indeed, the steep-sloped vineyards of Egon Müller are responsible for many of the most astonishing wines ever produced. The area in which the famed Scharzhofberger vineyard is situated is documented as an area renowned for producing remarkable wines as far back as 1314.

CANTINE DEL NOTAIO IL SIGILLO 2010
DOC Aglianico del Vulture

477158 (XD) 750mL $49.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2010 Aglianico del Vulture Il Sigillo is slightly tighter and more streamlined than the 2009 vintage before it. The quality of fruit here is compact and focused with a very precise bouquet that offers equal billing to dark fruit, spice and dusty volcanic tones of ash, mineral and smoke. The wine is distinctive and profoundly beautiful and will appeal to those who are predisposed to the authentic and sometimes rustic expressions that Aglianico from the blackened slopes of the Vulture volcano. I really could not be more enthusiastic about the Il Sigillo family of wines. The 2010 vintage also differs from the 2009 in terms of its firmness and structure. The 2009 vintage appears more immediate and slightly softer. But the 2010 vintage shows an even greater potential for aging. This is a wine to be enjoyed in time. Drink: 2017-2030. TASTING NOTE: More than a wine, the 2007 Taurasi Riserva Vigna Cinque Querce is an experience. Dig your nose deep into the glass, and you feel as if you are absorbing the aromas from a fistful of moist volcanic earth. Dark fruit, cola, mineral tones, blackberry, spice, licorice, tar and candied chestnut all lift from the beautifully intricate bouquet. The complexity here is truly outstanding and the wine evolves slowly with each additional minute in the glass. It boasts a super smooth texture, with enormous richness and persistency. TASTING NOTE: A deep, sensual wine, the 2013 Barbaresco Bric Balin is shaping up to be a real jewel. Hints of orange peel, mint, spices and white pepper make an appearance on a bouquet that is full of intrigue. The 2013 is deep, powerful and structured. Fruit comes from one of the coolest growing spots in the appellation, expressed here thanks to one of the hottest recent vintages. The results are nicely balanced. CASTELLO ROMITORIO RISERVA BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2010
DOCG

391169 (XD) 750mL $179.00

TASTING NOTE: This is the finest wine I have tasted from Sandro Chia's fairy tale Castello Romitorio. The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a stunning creation and it excels on any number of levels. The vineyards are now at their full potential and the winemaking team has amassed enough experience under its belt to show greater confidence in terms of its stylistic philosophy. I love the fullness and the generosity of the bouquet, and I relished in tasting those delicious layers of dark berry, spice, dried herb and dark chocolate. The mouthfeel is equally satisfying with opulent richness and impressive flavor persistence. Castello Romitorio has set a new benchmark. Drink Date: 2017-2035. 107508 (XD) 750mL $130.00

TASTING NOTE: There are plenty of bass notes here, augmented by plum, licorice, spice and chocolate hints, along with cherry and floral flavors. DONA MARIA GRANDE RESERVA 2010
Vinho Regional Alentejano

478503 (XD) 750mL $44.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2010 Grande Reserva is a blend of 50% Alicante Bouschet (from 60-year-old Estremoz vines), 25% Syrah and 25% Petit Verdot, aged for one year in new French oak. If you wonder what you get for stepping up from the Amantis Reserva reviewed this issue, that's easy: far more concentration, better structure and far more complexity. With that typically beefy nose (the Alicante in full flight), this a gorgeously focused Tinto that has impeccable balance. The controlled but quite noticeable tannins match the fruit perfectly. It finishes with grip and intensity of flavor, seeming graceful and carefully crafted all the while. This is a gorgeous Grande Reserva that does everything wonderfully well while never becoming obvious or bombastic. Note: this qualified as a Grande Reserva this year and replaced the regular Reserva. It's the same wine. In the past, the winery didn't bother changing the branding, no matter the designation granted. Owner Júlio Bastos said, "Before, to be Colheita Seleccionada, Reserva or Grande Reserva [wines] had the same requirements at the CVRA, which was really strange ... nowadays there are different demands and requirements." ALTO MONCAYO GARNACHA 2013
DO Campo de Borja

396358 (XD) 750mL $51.00

TASTING NOTE: Bright violet color. A complex, expansive bouquet evokes ripe dark berries, candied flowers, vanilla and incense, with a smoky mineral overtone. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering concentrated boysenberry and cherry-cola flavors that show surprising vivacity and a touch of back end spiciness. Finishes very long and energetic, with supple tannins building slowly and in harmony with the wine's intense fruit. This suave bottling, which is sourced from vines that were planted between 1910 and 1967, was aged in new French and American oak barrels for 22 months. Drinking window: 2019-2025. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it delivers an already complex nose of sandalwood, mineral, espresso, pencil lead, blackberry, and licorice. Full-bodied, dense, and structured, this full-flavored effort requires 3-4 years of cellaring to unwind. Its drinking window will extend from 2013 to 2025. PEARL MORISSETTE MADELINE CABERNET FRANC 2012
VQA Twenty Mile Bench

459164 (XD) 750mL $44.20

TASTING NOTE: Morissette may be exaggerating a touch when he says this vintage of his head-turning Cab Franc has the potential to age for 40 years, but he may not be far off. What a beauty! Pretty notes of black cherry, crunchy raspberry, cassis and subtle, ingrained barrel spice. It is seductive, enthralling, in fact, on the palate, with a richness that is hard to describe. Such depth to the cherry, anise and smoky spices with a firm bed of tannins and luxurious feel through the long, silky finish. Score: 93 (Rick VanSickle, winesinniagara.com, Sept. 14, 2015)

Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, the multi-layered flavors have very spicy accents and are framed by ripe, grainy tannins. It has a very long and elegant finish with hints of exotic spices. TASTING NOTE: Deep garnet/purple, the 2012 Shiraz Lloyd Reserve is profoundly scented of crushed blueberries, blackberries and mulberries with hints of cedar, toast, marmite, menthol, spice box and anise. This full-bodied and concentrated Syrah is built like a brick house giving muscular fruit flavors that are structured by firm, fine tannins. It has a long, well-poised finish. Drink: 2016-2029. Score: 95 (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Aug. 2015)

HENSCHKE MOUNT EDELSTONE VINEYARD SHIRAZ 2012
Eden Valley

718601 (XD) 750mL $218.00

TASTING NOTE: Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2012 Shiraz Mount Edelstone Keyneton Vineyard has aromas of crushed blackberries, mulberries and red and black plums with nuances of smoked bacon, fertile loam and cracked black pepper. Medium to full-bodied, it offers beautiful grace, elegance and intensity on the palate with silky fine tannins and lively acidity, finishing with great length. Score: 97 (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, June 2015)

LEEUWIN ART SERIES CHARDONNAY 2013
Margaret River

619437 (XD) 750mL $94.00

TASTING NOTE: Elegant and graceful, this opens to supple lemon and tangerine flavors, accented by spice, cedar, mineral and white floral touches. Everything is precise and supple, with a juicy touch on the epic finish. Drink now through 2026. Highly Recommended. Score: 96 (MaryAnn Worobiec, winespectator.com, July 31, 2016)

CONTINUUM 2013
Napa Valley

397836 (XD) 750mL $305.00

TASTING NOTE: Graphite, lavender, sage, cloves and menthol race out of the glass in the 2013 Continuum, a wine that is just as impressive in bottle as it was from barrel. An intensely saline, mineral-drenched wine endowed with serious depth and precision, the 2013 shines with exceptional structural intensity and power, all that despite just having been bottled. In 2013 the Cabernet Franc is way up, which helps give the wine more aromatic top notes as well as greater overall complexity. Simply put, the 2013 is a real knock-out. Drinking window: 2021-2033. Score: 97 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Oct. 2015)

GAMBA STARR ROAD OLD VINE RESERVE ZINFANDEL 2013
Russian River Valley

478784 (XD) 750mL $70.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Zinfandel Starr Road Ranch Old Vine comes from a vineyard planted in 1920. A glorious level of licorice, black raspberry, blackberry, and cassis soars from the glass of this wine that wants to suggest old-vine material from a Mediterranean vineyard - but this is Russian River. Full-bodied, opulent, unctuous and a total decadent, hedonistic and intellectual turn-on, this wine should continue to offer great drinking for at least a decade. Score: 96 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Feb. 29, 2016)

KRUPP BROTHERS M5 STAGECOACH VINEYARD CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2013
Napa Valley

478685 (XD) 750mL $235.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon M5 Stagecoach Vineyard is a big, hulking, masculine style of Cabernet Sauvignon with loads of volcanic earthiness and minerality. It's powerful, rich, tannic, concentrated and impressive. This wine, made from 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Malbec, spent 24 months in 100% new oak. For those with patience wanting a big, backstrapping, pedal-to-the-metal style of Cabernet, forget it for 4-5 years and drink over the following 2-3 decades. Score: 94+ (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Dec. 25, 2015)

ODETTE ESTATE CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2013
Stags Leap District, Napa Valley

478792 (XD) 750mL $204.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate exhibits graphite, blackberry and cassis, chocolate and a touch of mineral in a full-bodied, layered and impressively pure style. It's a big wine for Stags Leap (15.4% alcohol), but gorgeously pure, with everything well-knit into a sensational equilibrium. This is only a baby, but promises to hit its peak in 7-10 years and last 25-30. Score: 95+ (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Dec. 27, 2015)

ORIN SWIFT PAPILLON 2013
Napa Valley

478768 (XD) 750mL $120.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Papillon Proprietary Red is 100% from Napa and is a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. This killer wine has an inky purple color and offers notes of espresso roast intermixed with white chocolate, creme de cassis, blackberry and a touch of toasty oak. The wine was aged 16 months in French oak, of which 40% was new. Broad and opulent, with great intensity, purity and depth, this is another stunner from Dave Phinney, a.k.a. Orin Swift. Score: 95 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Oct. 26, 2015)

ULYSSES 2012
Napa Valley

478800 (XD) 750mL $213.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is the first commercial release from Christian Moueix's Oakville property. Sensual and alluring, yet with striking depth, the 2012 is full of sweet red cherry, raspberry jam, wild flowers, all pushed forward in a sexy, layered Cabernet Sauvignon that delivers terrific depth for a wine from this generally uneven vintage. Sweet floral and spiced notes add lift on the finish. I imagine the 2012 will reward readers with a good two decades of fine drinking. Drinking window: 2017-2032. Score: 93 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Feb. 2016)

LEONETTI CELLAR MERLOT 2014
Walla Walla Valley

298067 (XD) 750mL $150.00

TASTING NOTE: A soft, sexy and luxuriously textured red, the 2014 Walla Walla Merlot (there's 6% Cabernet Franc in the blend) is loaded with perfectly ripe notes of black currants, lead pencil shavings, charred earth and chocolate. Full-bodied and possessing a wealth of fruit, you have to hunt for the tannin, but they're there; still, fruit and texture are the name of the game here. The baby fat should slowly melt away and it should have 15 years or more of longevity. Score: 93 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, May 22, 2016)

CHÂTEAU SUDUIRAUT 2003
AC

478305 (S) 375mL $48.00

TASTING NOTE: A wonderful and fascinating wine with a tangy sweet and sour character. Full and very sweet, with a dried citrus character and an underlying orange marmalade note. Long and delicious already. Lovely balance for having such a ripe finish. This can age forever, but why deny yourself? Score: 96 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, March 20, 2013)

DALVA 20-YEAR-OLD TAWNY PORT
DOP

400689 (S) 750mL $55.00

TASTING NOTE: Beautiful mid-deep amber/tawny colour. Complex aromas of nuts, figs and apricots. Silky smooth and very refined, extending to suave complexity. Lithe and delicate, long, fine and wonderfully poised - a near-perfect combination of the freshness of youth melded with the complexity of age. Score: 98 (Richard Mayson, decanter.com, Feb. 20, 2013)

ROYAL OPORTO 40 YEAR OLD TAWNY PORT
DOP

477109 (S) 750mL $176.00

TASTING NOTE: Intense and unctuous, featuring an array of vibrant ripe citrus, dried fig, toffee and wild herb flavors, accented by notes of mocha and cocoa powder. Spiced cherry and cream fill in mid-palate, with a bright finish of orange peel and caramel. Drink now. Score: 95 (Kim Marcus, winespectator.com, Oct. 15, 2013)
