REMY MARTIN CENTAURE DE DIAMANT
AC Cognac, France

393108 700mL $1,000.00

TASTING NOTE: Generous nose with stylish aromas of prune, dried fruit and floral backing. Rich and robust in the mouth with excellent balance between fruit and oak. Wide array of flavours including nuts, figs, raisins, prune and orange. Rich and intense. Everlasting finish. Wonderful brandy. Score: Gold Medal (International Wine & Spirit Competition, 2010)

CHÂTEAU D'ARMAILHAC 2010
AC Pauillac, 5e Cru

487058 (XD) 750mL $142.00

TASTING NOTE: Another sensational effort from Philippe Dhaluin, the administrator of Mouton Rothschild, this blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot shows complex floral notes intermixed with forest floor, camphor, black currants and mulberries that all jump from the glass of this aromatic style of d'Armailhac. This wine possesses very good acidity, a surprisingly higher percentage of Merlot than usual, but the quality is impressive, and the good news is that there are 20,000 cases of this full-bodied beauty, which should age nicely for 15-20+ years. Score: 93 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Feb. 27, 2013)

CHÂTEAU LARMANDE 2010
AC Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

567511 (XD) 750mL $78.00

TASTING NOTE: Attractive nose with animal notes, mint and dark fruit. Wonderful freshness at the beginning of the palate and builds up with a huge structure and multilayered texture. Long and very classy. Great potential but needs a couple of years to soften up the tannins. Best wine for a long time. Try after 2016. Score: 95 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Nov. 13, 2013)

CHÂTEAU LAROQUE 2010
AC Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

235481 (XD) 750mL $71.00

TASTING NOTE: A bit backward still, with more alder and mesquite leading the way, while the lightly mulled plum, blackberry and black currant fruit sits in the wings. Dark ganache and a chewy, tarry finish keep this shrouded for now, but there's good stuffing for the cellar. Yet likely to stay on the slightly rustic side of things. Best from 2015 through 2027. Score: 91 (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, 2013)

Y D'YQUEM 2013
AC

408047 (D) 750mL $276.00

The Y D'Yquem is a dry white blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, and it's sourced from the same vineyards that produce Yquem's famous sweet wines. First produced in 1959, this wine is not made every year, and only about 1,000 cases of this are made. This will be elegant and vibrant and perfectly balanced. A rare and unique expression of the terroir of D'Yquem.

LOUIS JADOT LA DOMINODE SAVIGNY-LÈS-BEAUNE 1ER CRU 2013
AC

634949 (XD) 750mL $58.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru la Dominode has a slightly deeper color than the Clos des Guettes. The nose is much more closed at the moment, although this is typical at this stage. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, plenty of red and black fruit intermingled with a harmonious, supple finish that bodes well for the future. This may merit a higher score once in bottle because it possesses impressive density. Score: 90-92+ (Neal Martin, robertparker.com, Dec. 29, 2014)

CLOS DE LA ROCHE GRAND CRU 2011
AC

484212 (XD) 750mL $170.00

TASTING NOTE: Sumptuous oak spicing and succulent fruit - exemplary grand cru quality. Effortless yet cerebral and engaging. Lovely grippy texture and leisurely, fragrant length. Drink: 2023 - 2033 Score: 17.5 (out of 20) (Richard Hemming, MW, jancisrobinson.com, Jan, 10, 2015)

AU PIED DU MONT CHAUVE LA GARENNE PULIGNY-MONTRACHET 1ER CRU 2012
AC

488361 (XD) 750mL $129.00

TASTING NOTE: This wine is closed and tight at this stage of its development, which is not a bad thing because it will age well. For now, it offers crisply fresh fruit layered with wood aging and with a tight, tangy texture. Spice and toast flavors complement the fruit. Drink this wine from 2018. Cellar Selection. Score: 94 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, May 2016)

CHÂTEAU GRENOUILLES CHABLIS GRAND CRU 2012
AC

82974 (XD) 750mL $99.00

TASTING NOTE: La Chablisienne owns the major part of the Grenouilles Grand Cru, centered on a winery called Château Grenouilles. This wine is powerful and still very young. It has weight and structure along with ripe, generous fruits that are typical of this vineyard. Touched by vanilla from wood aging, it is balancing out now. Drink from 2018. Score: 94 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Oct. 2015)

CHÂTEAU DE BEAUCASTEL CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE 2014
AC

968750 (D) 375mL $47.00

TASTING NOTE: Not yet bottled, the 2014 Châteauneuf du Pape is one of the few inky colored wines in the vintage. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and ripe with notable tannin, it offers beautiful notes of blackberry, shitake mushrooms, licorice and pepper meats. It plays in the 2014 vintage's forward, supple nature, but has real depth and concentration. I don't think it will be the longest lived Beaucastel, but it will have 15-20 years of overall longevity. Score: 92-94 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Oct. 29, 2015)

ROTEM & MOUNIR SAOUMA OMNIA CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE 2014
AC

453621 (XD) 750mL $128.00

TASTING NOTE: Opaque ruby. A sexy, intensely perfumed bouquet evokes fresh blue fruits, Asian spices, smoky minerals and candied flowers. Sappy, expansive and pure on the palate, offering impressively concentrated black raspberry and boysenberry flavors that become livelier and sweeter with air. Ripe and broad yet lithe on the tenacious finish, which displays sneaky tannins and repeating blue fruit and floral flavors. Score: 93-96 (Josh Raynolds, vinous.com, April 2016)

DELAS DOMAINE DES GRANDS CHEMINS CROZES-HERMITAGE 2013
AC

101105 (XD) 750mL $43.00

TASTING NOTE: Already gorgeous, the 2013 Crozes Hermitage Domaine des Grands Chemins comes all from the Les Chassis region of Crozes (this is the flatter plain that stretches west from the Rhône river); it was raised in a combination of stainless steel and smaller barrels. It offers classic violet-tinged black and blue fruits, tapenade, bay leaf and peppery notes in a medium to full-bodied, elegant, silky style that just begs to be drunk. While bottles wouldn't last long at my house, it will cruise for another 10-15 years on its balance. Score: 92 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2015)

PIC & CHAPOUTIER LIEU-DIT PAYROLLES SAINT PÉRAY 2013
AC

478321 (XD) 750mL $82.00

TASTING NOTE: Probably the greatest Saint Péray I've tasted, the single vineyard 2013 Saint Péray Lieu Dit Payrolles comes from a higher elevation, very late ripening parcel and is 100% Marsanne that was brought up all in demi-muids. It offers drop dead gorgeous notes of butter peaches, currants, browned butter and killer minerality to go with a medium to full-bodied, elegant, silky and layered style on the palate. If anyone doubts that this terroir can produce world class wines, they should taste this. It will have over a decade of longevity, but don't let that stop you from opening bottles. Score: 95 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2015)

SALON BLANC DE BLANCS BRUT CHAMPAGNE 2004
AC

398297 (XD) 750mL $684.00

TASTING NOTE: 2004 Salon weaves together immense complexity with stunning purity and makes instant impact on the nose with fresh-baked pastry and brioche, chalky minerals, fresh white mushroom, cucumber, lemon curd and striking lemon and lime citrus fruits. The palate has an almost smoky mineral thread, toasty autolytic flavors build and expand through the mid-palate, opening to grapefruit and ripe white peach flavours, lemon sorbet and very lightly grilled hazelnuts to close. This is an impressively layered Blanc de Blancs in which bright acidity supports the flavorsome, concentrated and fleshy texture in seamless balance. A great Salon, very composed and complex in every respect, a classically styled vintage in which this legendary Champagne has excelled. It will be a fascinatingly complex Champagne with further age. Drink now and for 10+ years. Score: 98 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Oct. 21, 2016)

LAURENT-PERRIER GRAND SIÈCLE GRANDE CUVÉE CHAMPAGNE
AC

379982 (XD) 750mL $200.00

TASTING NOTE: The NV Grand Siècle Grande Cuvée is a Grand Cru Brut based on 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir from a total of eleven villages. The youngest release is a blend of the (declared) vintages 2002, 1999 and 1998, and has a yellow-golden color that opens beautifully with a clear, deep and complex bouquet. It is pure, ripe and very elegant, mixing pain-aux-raisin and honey flavors with pure chalk. Ample, highly elegant, beautifully matured and fruit-intense, with fine caramel, honey and torrone flavors, this is a well-structured Grand Siècle with great finesse and delicate freshness. Awesome. Champagnes of Laurent-Perrier are mainly based on Chardonnay, whereas Pinot Noir is a junior partner and Meunier is only a very small part of the cuvées. Chef de cave François Cotard tries to extract the maximum of the aromatic part of the fruit to keep the natural freshness. That's why he ferments at controlled temperatures at 16 to 17 degrees Celsius in nothing but stainless steel vats. All of the cuvées undergo malolactic fermentation. Score: 95 (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, June 29, 2016)

VILMART & CIE GRAND CELLIER PREMIER CRU BRUT CHAMPAGNE
AC

65110 (D) 750mL $84.00

TASTING NOTE: An explosion of flavor, with ripe nectarine, lemon curd, clover honey, jasmine and grilled nut notes set on a firm, fine china-like frame. Lithe and elegant, this is like raw silk on the palate. The vibrant, mouthwatering finish echoes exotic spice, chalk and floral details. Disgorged May 2014. Best from 2017 through 2025. Score: 94 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, Nov. 15, 2015)

CLEMENS BUSCH GG MARIENBURG FAHRLAY TERRASSEN RIESLING 2014
Qualitätswein

484089 (D) 750mL $68.00

TASTING NOTE: From almost 100-year-old vines in a 1,600 square meter plot (small grapes, loose berries, thicker skins), the 2014 Riesling GG Fahrlay Terrassen opens with a deep, concentrated, very complex, stony/dusty bouquet of almonds and ripe, healthy Riesling berries. Full-bodied, round and complex, with fully ripe and juicy, well concentrated, yellow-fleshed fruit and a great purity, this is a very complex and persistent Riesling of great expression. A cultural monument rolling over the palate. Very long. Memorable. Score: 95 (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, March 3, 2016)

FERRARI PERLÉ NERO 2008
Metodo classico, DOC Trento

484154 (XD) 750mL $71.00

TASTING NOTE: Made entirely with Pinot Nero, this stunning sparkler opens with aromas of lemon custard, yeast, citrus and apple. The elegant palate has lovely depth, offering crisp apple, citrus zest, pastry cream and mineral alongside an ultrafine perlage. The tangy finish closes on an almond note. Score: 94 (Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 2015)

TERRA DI LAVORO ROCCAMONFINA 2007
IGT

487520 (XD) 750mL $95.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2007 Terra di Lavoro emerges from the glass with an array of floral red fruit, spices, berries and minerals. It is an especially forward, opulent Terra di Lavoro bursting with exuberance. There is something viscerally thrilling about the 2007, perhaps because Terra di Lavoro is typically so reticent when it is young. Not here. This is an open, wonderfully expressive vintage. The only thing left to wonder is if the wine will ever shut down in bottle. For now, readers who want to understand what makes Terra di Lavoro such a pedigreed wine may want to start here. Readers who prefer a firmer style will likely gravitate towards the 2006 or 2008, but this is a flat-out great bottle of wine with an explosive personality that carries through to the long, intensely satisfying finish. In 2007 the weather was consistently hot, but the 2007 doesn't show the jamminess of the 2003 nor the sheer power of the 2001. Drink 2017 - 2032. Score: 97 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, August 2010)

LIS NERIS JUROSA CHARDONNAY 2013
DOC Friuli Isonzo

382960 (D) 750mL $45.00

TASTING NOTE: Lis Neris makes a fine Italian Chardonnay. The 2013 Friuli Isonzo Chardonnay Jurosa is a soft and yielding white wine with fragrant layers of stone fruit, baked apple and a touch of exotic spice. Those aromas are the starting point for a bouquet that reveals much more complexity as the wine opens in the glass. Defined mineral notes also make a brief, but meaningful appearance. The wine shows mellow texture backed by a much needed point of fresh acidity. Score: 93 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, May 29, 2016)

VIETTI CASTIGLIONE BAROLO 2012
DOCG

703744 (D) 750mL $78.00

TASTING NOTE: With fruit sourced from various points within the Castiglione Falletto township, the 2012 Barolo Castiglione continues on its promise to offer a solid drinking experience based purely on quality Nebbiolo. This wine speaks more to the specific qualities of Nebbiolo, more than vineyard site. It opens to a dark garnet color with young aromas of cherry and spice. Elegant balsam notes of mint and licorice add a sharper sense of definition. This is a solid-drinking Barolo for the near and medium term. The wonderful wines of Vietti have me thinking a lot about Langhe Nebbiolo lately. The 2013 Langhe Nebbiolo Perbacco is definitely among the top ten "easiest-to-drink" wines I've tasted this year. Following a long morning of tasting new vintage of Barolo, I invited a few guests out to lunch. I wanted to grab an open bottle from my morning session and this is the one I re-corked and stuffed into my purse. Some 20 minutes later I was sitting outside on a warm spring day at one of my favorite restaurants in the center of Alba. I ordered lightly grilled squid as an appetizer and a portion of carne cruda covered in thinly shaved scales of black truffle. I could have grabbed a Barolo, but the sunlit setting and the raw ingredients in the lunch menu were a perfect match for Langhe Nebbiolo. In fact, the Perbacco awarded me my most memorable food and wine pairing experience during my latest trip to Piedmont. Langhe Nebbiolo is a food wine, a working wine, a lunch wine and a much friendlier take on Nebbiolo. Score: 93 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, June 29, 2016)

GIACOMO BORGOGNO & FIGLI BAROLO 2011
DOCG

477604 (XD) 750mL $79.00

TASTING NOTE: Pretty 2011 Barolo with cocoa, plum and fresh lilac aromas and flavors. Full body, firm and chewy tannins. Long, flavorful finish. Better in 2017 but so beautiful now. Score: 93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Sept. 23, 2015)

ELIO ALTARE CERRETTA VIGNA BRICCO BAROLO 2010
DOCG

295766 (XD) 750mL $134.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2010 Barolo Vigna Bricco Cerretta will hit the market in 2016 because Altare treats this as if it were a Riserva. Fruit is from Serralunga d'Alba, am I'm not sure if the words "Vigna" will appear on the final label given the disciplinary changes that limit producers to using the name of a single vineyard on their bottles. It's hard to beat the profound generosity and opulence of this wine with that unmistakable touch of silky elegance. This is wine of enormous presence and poise. Drink: 2018-2038. Score: 98 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, June 25, 2014)

MASSIMO RIVETTI FROI RISERVA BARBARESCO 2008
DOCG

122713 (D) 750mL $50.00

TASTING NOTE: Compared to 2009 and 2011, the 2008 Barbaresco Riserva Froi is subtle and subdued with pretty balsam notes of cola and eucalyptus followed by dried cherry and crushed flower. This Riserva feels tight and silky on the close, imparting a noticeable sense of elegance. Score: 91 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, June 25, 2014)

TENUTE SELLA SAN SEBASTIANO ALLO ZOPPO LESSONA 2007
DOC

448084 (XD) 750mL $52.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2007 Lessona San Sebastiano allo Zoppo is a beautiful, complete wine. Pliant and expressive, yet also intensely mineral, the 2007 is built on balance and harmony. The 2007 is generous and resonant, yet the firm tannins carry the fruit beautifully all the way through to the finish. Sweet tobacco, dried flowers and mint are some of the many notes that inform the finish. This is another great showing from Sella. The San Sebastiano allo Zoppo is 85% Nebbiolo and 15% Vespolina that spends three years in cask and one year in smaller barrels. Drinking window: 2014-2022. Score: 95 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, March, 2014)

TERRAZZE DELL'ETNA CIRNECO 2010
DOC Etna

478594 (XD) 750mL $40.00

TASTING NOTE: I tasted the 2010 Etna Rosso Cirneco (100% Nerello Mascalese) last year and had the chance to revisit the wine again. Since then, not much has changed although my impression is that it has started to flesh out nicely. It shows more spice coloring of cinnamon and clove this year. This is an austere and stubborn wine that plays its cards close to its chest. It reveals crushed stone, dark fruit and grilled herb with slow precision. These qualities bode well for its future evolution. So does the tannic management. The wine is stern, firm and structured. Fruit comes from 60-year-old pre-phylloxera vines that have been pruned down to just two clusters per vine. Score: 92 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, Sept. 29, 2015)

CASTELLO DI BOLGHERI 2012
DOC Bolgheri Superiore

337899 (XD) 750mL $85.00

TASTING NOTE: Packed with juicy black currant and blackberry flavors from start to finish, this red also evokes licorice, spice and tar accents. Dense and well-structured, with fine balance and a long, fruit- and spice-filled finish. Best from 2016 through 2024. Score: 93 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, Oct. 15, 2015)

LE MACCHIOLE PALEO 2012
IGT Toscana

945667 (XD) 750mL $115.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2012 Paleo (Cabernet Franc) is a spicy and enticing wine with loads of intensity and inner harmony. The great thing about this wine is that beyond the power and brawn[,] the wine shows a much higher level of elegance and sophistication than you may expect. This is the Le Macchiole magical touch. Pretty floral tones are woven within a dark fabric of ripe fruit, grilled herb and exotic spice. The wine is absolutely seamless and smooth. Score: 94 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, Oct. 29, 2015)

LA SERENA BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2011
DOCG

149583 (D) 750mL $85.00

TASTING NOTE: Offers plenty of underbrush, eucalyptus, juniper and sage flavors, with animal and mineral elements. The texture is smooth, balanced by lively yet refined acidity and firm tannins at the end. Best from 2018 through 2030. Score: 93 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, June 15, 2016)

PETRA ALTO SANGIOVESE 2011
IGT Toscana

483826 (XD) 750mL $45.00

TASTING NOTE: Aromas of blue flowers, black-skinned fruit and whiffs of mocha lead the nose on this structured Sangiovese. The full-bodied palate delivers mature plum, fleshy black cherry, clove and Mediterranean herb alongside velvety tannins. It closes on a note of mint chocolate. Score: 93 (Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, Aug. 2015)

CAPARZO RISERVA BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2010
DOCG

373563 (D) 750mL $100.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a big, powerful wine that is going to require at least a few years to soften. Dark and brooding, the Riserva shows the more masculine side of Sangiovese. Black cherry, plum, leather, spice and tobacco all sit on firm beams of acidity and tannin. There is a sense of explosive energy to the 2010 that I find quite appealing, but readers will have to be patient in order to experience the wine at its best. Drinking window: 2020-2030. Score: 96 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Feb. 2016)

DEI BOSSONA RISERVA VINO NOBILE DI MONTEPULCIANO 2010
DOCG

490193 (XD) 750mL $65.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2010 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva Bossona shows what Dei is capable of in a top vintage. Super ripe red cherries, plums, smoke, rose petals and spices form a super-appealing fabric of aromas and flavors. The style is bold and flamboyant, yet all the elements are in the right place. There is a lot to like here. The 2010 spent two years in Slavonian oak casks. Drinking window: 2016-2025. Score: 93+ (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, March 2016)

TERRALSOLE BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2010
DOCG

478008 (XD) 750mL $89.00

TASTING NOTE: Aromas and flavors of underbrush augment the cherry and strawberry flavors in this supple, delicate red. Balanced in a linear, tensile way, picking up mineral accents on the lingering, mouthwatering finish. Best from 2019 through 2035. Score: 94 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, June 30, 2015)

COLLE SANTA MUSTIOLA POGGIO AI CHIARI 2007
IGT Toscana

484550 (XD) 750mL $70.00

TASTING NOTE: Poggio ai Chiari is well-known to enthusiasts for its authentic features as well as its incredible aging potential. The version presented, 2007, is another success: good colour, though slightly pronounced compared to the previous version, and a subtly floral nose with appealing fruit and bright minerality flashes. The vintage year adds richness and maturity without compromising its distinctive natural elegance. Score: 3 Glasses (out of 3) (Gambero Rosso Italian Wines, 2015)

QUINTA DO MOURO 2010
Vinho Regional Alentejano

397067 (D) 750mL $48.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2010 Tinto, the latest estate Tinto (not quite yet released), is a good effort in a somewhat difficult year. More elegant than the 2009, if not quite as graceful as the 2008, it is beautifully balanced, nicely structured and very tasty. It won't be the greatest regular Tinto, but it is impressive nonetheless. Score: 92 (Mark Squires, robertparker.com, Oct. 29, 2015)

AQUILON 2012
DO Campo de Borja

480335 (XD) 750mL $168.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2012 Aquilon is no shy wine in the dry and warm 2012 when yields were very low and produced very concentrated juice. This is a full-throttle Garnacha, ripe and rich, big and built like a tank, really young and somehow difficult to read as it's still covered by all that puppy fat, but tasting 2008 to 2011 side-by-side was a great help to picture how this 2012 could develop. This is somehow fresher than 2011 or 2009, but clearly needs to integrate the oak as it has plenty of aromas and flavors of chocolate, toasted bread and coffee. A very good vintage of Aquilon. Score: 94 (Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com, Oct. 30, 2014)

CONTINO GRAN RESERVA 2009
DOCa Rioja

480178 (XD) 750mL $55.00

TASTING NOTE: Contino only bottles its Gran Reserva in magnum, so I tasted the 2009 Contino Gran Reserva in that format. It's a blend of Tempranillo and 10% each Garnacha and Graciano fermented in cement vats and matured in a mixture of used French (60%) and American barrels for at least two years. A good, modern classical Gran Reserva from what seems to be a very ripe vintage. It is showing some evolution with plenty of earthy notes and some lactic reduction, a bit cheesy, so give it time in the glass or the decanter! The flavors offer ripe fruit, black rather than red, plus spices and leather. Then on the palate it has good freshness, it's medium-bodied with fine tannins ending supple, almost salty. 2,749 magnums produced. The price given is for a magnum, and it's a wine designed to be aged in bottle, but this will not be the longest-lived vintage. Score: 92 (Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com, April 29, 2015)

BACHELDER WISMER VINEYARD CHARDONNAY 2011
VQA Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Peninsula

345819 (XD) 750mL $44.95

TASTING NOTE: This and Bachelder's Saunders Chardonnay stood out at a recent tasting, both of grand cru quality. Score: 93 (Steven Spurrier, Decanter, Dec. 15, 2015)

WIRRA WIRRA RSW SHIRAZ 2013
McLaren Vale

443770 (XD) 750mL $60.00

TASTING NOTE: Medium to deep garnet/purple, the 2013 Shiraz RSW has tons of blackberry and spiced plum notes with menthol, spice box, cedar, vanilla and mocha hints. The densely packed palate is full and rich, shows good concentration and is structured by firm, grainy tannins and a long finish. Score: 92+ (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Aug. 25, 2015)

POONAWATTA ESTATE THE 1880 SHIRAZ 2012
Eden Valley

445437 (D) 750mL $116.00

TASTING NOTE: An outstanding wine of real depth, poise and intensity, this has a striking freshness and savory edge to the nose with crushed rocks, dried spices, dark fruits, citrus, graphite, and some peppery nuances too. The palate has intensity and focus that makes for captivating wine. Assertive, linear tannins here, really fine yet strong. Full of energy and drenched in perfectly ripe dark fruit flavors. There's a juicy, energized finish. This will age very well; best from 2022. Score: 97 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Feb. 5, 2015)

CLARENDON HILLS ONKAPARINGA GRENACHE 2010
Clarendon

64139 (D) 750mL $113.00

TASTING NOTE: Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2010 Onkaparinga Vineyard Grenache is intensely scented of freshly crushed blackberries and raspberries with hints of green peppercorns, dried thyme and bacon. Big, full and expressive in the mouth, it is solidly built with firm, grainy tannins and lively acid through the long finish. Drink it 2014 to 2023+. Score: 94+ (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Feb. 27, 2013)

TRINITY HILL SYRAH 2014
Gimblett Gravels

415349 (XD) 750mL $44.00

TASTING NOTE: Made in a ready-to-drink, approachable style, this would be a fine introduction to Hawke's Bay/Gimblett Gravels Syrah. Blueberries, mulberries and spices abound, while hints of espresso and dark chocolate appear on the softly dusty finish. Drink this medium-bodied wine now through 2020. Score: 91 (Joe Czerwinski, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 31, 2016)

ZUCCARDI TITO 2013
La Consulta, Uco Valley, Mendoza

402958 (D) 750mL $35.00

TASTING NOTE: The red blend 2013 Tito Zuccardi feels a little mainstream next to wines like the Concreto, perhaps it's the spicy, roasted aromas from the oak and high ripeness that usually implies alcohol. It's mostly Malbec that is co-fermented with some 10% Cabernet and 12% of the unusual Italian red Ancelotta, all sourced from Altamira in the Valle de Uco. The blend might change with the vintage, but the origin will always be Altamira. Sebastian likes Ancelotta in the blends and this has a vegetal freshness. The nose mixes the violets and blue fruit with plenty of aromatic herbs and spices with a faint lactic hint. There is purity and elegance under the power, with fine minerality and a remarkable finish. Score: 92 (Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com, August 27, 2015)

ROBERT BIALE BLACK CHICKEN ZINFANDEL 2014
Napa Valley

487595 (XD) 750mL $70.00

TASTING NOTE: Lastly, the 2014 Zinfandel Black Chicken (its name coming from the code name used when ordering a jug of Zinfandel during the Prohibition era) is another relatively big-boned Zinfandel at 15.3% alcohol. Gorgeously proportioned, textured and almost chewy, this stunningly hedonistic and fleshy, flamboyant Zinfandel delivers abundant glycerin, fruit, quality and personality. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. Score: 94 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Aug.30, 2016)

CAKEBREAD BENCHLAND SELECT CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2013
Napa Valley

924175 (XD) 750mL $196.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Benchland Select is a stunner. Aged 22 months in 54% new French oak, the wine has a dense, blackish/blue color, a beautiful nose of graphite, blackberry, blueberry, a touch of charcoal embers and spice. It's youthful, restrained and holding back somewhat. Nevertheless, this is a super-impressive wine that will age effortlessly for 25-30 years. In fact, I don't think it's going to hit its peak for another 5-7 years. This is a beauty. Score: 94+ (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2015)

CAKEBREAD DANCING BEAR RANCH CABERNET SAUVIGNON/MERLOT 2013
Howell Mountain

220459 (XD) 750mL $235.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Dancing Bear Ranch (a blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Merlot aged 22 months in about 50% new French oak) has a dense purple color, wonderfully sweet cassis fruit and blackberries, with a touch of mulberry, forest floor and underbrush. Full-bodied, rich, concentrated and super-pure, this beauty is young, but accessible, yet I don't see it hitting its prime for another 7-8 years. This is a 30+ year wine that should provide compelling drinking when fully mature. Score: 96 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2015)

DAVID ARTHUR ELEVATION 1147 CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2013
Napa Valley

478701 (XD) 750mL $345.00

TASTING NOTE: Lastly, usually the most famous wine produced at this winery is the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Elevation 1147. Clearly the most backward of the three wines, it possesses more tannin, structure and density. More of a long-term proposition than its two siblings, this wine has a dense purple color, good structure and ripeness, beautiful, flowery crème de cassis and spice. It is intense and full-bodied, but patience will be required. Forget it for the next 4-5 years and drink it over the following 25 or more. Score: 95+ (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2015)

BENTON-LANE FIRST CLASS PINOT NOIR 2012
Willamette Valley

371476 (XD) 750mL $83.00

TASTING NOTE: Light and vibrant, offering effusive flavors of currant and plum on a polished frame. Remains focused and expressive, with a touch of mineral as the finish lingers. Drink now through 2020. Score: 92 (Harvey Steiman, winespectator.com, Feb. 28, 2015)

TENET GSM 2014
Columbia Valley

487470 (XD) 750mL $99.00

TASTING NOTE: I think the finest GSM blend made in Washington, the 2014 Tenet GSM (43% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 22% Mourvèdre) sports a deep, inky ruby color to go with full-bodied aromas and flavors of blackberries, black raspberries, smoked herbs and licorice. Textured, mouth-filling, with no hard edges and a great finish, this beauty has everything you could want from a Rhone blend from Washington. I like it now, but it will keep for a decade. Score: 95 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, June 29, 2016)

BURMESTER COLHEITA PORT 1989
Douro

482851 (S) 750mL $90.00

TASTING NOTE: The 1989 Colheita Tawny Port was bottled in 2015 with 103.6 grams per liter of residual sugar. Fresh and balanced, with a feeling of liveliness, this is more about restraint and elegance than mid-palate weight, but it shows fine concentration of flavor on the finish and delivers more than adequate mid-palate concentration as well. It also has more power than anticipated on first taste. Tightening fast as it warms, its fresh feel if laced with just a touch of Whiskey that provides the perfect counterweight to the tension on the finish and fine flavors. It is a bit understated, but lovely. Score: 93 (Mark Squires, robertparker.com, March 3, 2016)
