DAMBLAT RARE OLD VINTAGE ARMAGNAC 1967
AC

949792 700mL $363.00

The Damblat & Havion families have been distilling Armagnac at the castle in the village of Ayguetinte since 1859. This rare bottling has spent fifty years allowing its intensely spicy, smoky characteristics to mellow into a wonderfully smooth, harmonious expression of dried stone fruit, citrus peel, exotic tea and potpourri. Truly the ideal way to celebrate a half-century, and the ideal gift for any Armagnac connoisseur.

CHÂTEAU D'ISSAN 2010
AC Margaux, Grand Cru Classé

490177 (XD) 750mL $192.00

TASTING NOTE: A complete, medium to full-bodied, exquisite Margaux from this medieval, moat-encircled, compellingly beautiful estate in the southern Medoc, D'Issan's 2010 is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. The deep, gravelly soils mixed with clay have provided extraordinary aromatics. The yields were ridiculously low (22 hectoliters per hectare) and the wine tips the scaled at 13.7% natural alcohol. Production was small after the selection for the grand vin, and the result is a dense, purple-colored wine with beautiful aromatics of spring flowers, blueberries and black raspberries as well as hints of cassis, tar and charcoal. The wine is gorgeously pure, well-balanced, and soft enough to be approached in 4-5 years or cellared for 25-30. Score: 95 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Feb. 27, 2013)

CHÂTEAU FRANC MAYNE 2009
AC Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

490151 (XD) 750mL $90.00

TASTING NOTE: This gushes up front with dark fig, blueberry cobbler and steeped black currant fruit, showing just enough racy graphite cut on the back end for balance. Espresso and fig bread notes hang in the background. Best from 2013 through 2022. Score: 91 (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, March 31, 2012)

CHÂTEAU LAFITE ROTHSCHILD 2009
AC Pauillac, 1er Cru

201590 (XD) 750mL $1,900.00

James Suckling awarded this wine a perfect score of 100 points. (jamessuckling.com, March 2, 2012)

TASTING NOTE: The main reason the 2009 Lafite Rothschild did not receive a perfect score is because the wine has closed down slightly, but it is unquestionably another profound Lafite, their greatest wine since the amazing 2003. Among the most powerful Lafites ever made (it came in at 13.59% alcohol), the final blend was 82.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot. The selection was incredibly severe with only 45% of the crop being utilized. A tight, but potentially gorgeous nose of graphite, black currants, licorice and camphor is followed by a full-bodied wine revealing the classic elegance, purity and delineated style of Lafite. It is phenomenally concentrated with softer tannins than the 2005, the 2003's voluptuous, broad, juicy personality, and low acidity. There are several vintages that I thought were a replay of their colossal 1959, most notably 1982 and 2003, but 2009 is also one to keep an eye on. It is still extremely youthful and seems slightly more backward than I would have guessed based on the barrel tastings, but it needs 10-15 years of bottle age, and should last for 50+. Score: 99+ (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Dec. 22, 2011)

CHÂTEAU TROPLONG MONDOT 2008
AC Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

137448 (XD) 750mL $175.00

TASTING NOTE: A wine of the vintage candidate in 2008, Troplong Mondot's offering was produced from yields of 41 hectoliters per hectare and achieved 14.5% natural alcohol. A classic blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, it offers copious quantities of blue and black fruits, a full-bodied opulence, sweet tannin and a fabulous texture as well as finish. Already drinking beautifully, it will be even better in 2-5 years and should last for 20 years. A great effort for the vintage, it couldn't happen to a more deserving proprietor, Christine Valette. Bravo! Drink: 2013-2033. Score: 96 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, May 2011)

CHÂTEAU LÉOVILLE BARTON 2000
AC Saint-Julien

490169 (XD) 750mL $462.00

TASTING NOTE: Hello. Take textbook St.-Julien warmed fig, blueberry compote and blackberry reduction notes along with ample graphite, bramble and tobacco flavors, then dial it up a notch. This has terrific energy to offset the admirable depth and length, and hasn't even started a second phase yet. One of the stars of the vintage.-2000 Bordeaux blind retrospective (December 2015). Best from 2018 through 2033. Score: 96 (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, 2016)

DOMAINE BOUCHARD PÈRE & FILS BEAUNE GRÈVES VIGNE DE L'ENFANT JÉSUS 1ER CRU 2014
AC

43257 (XD) 750mL $139.00

TASTING NOTE: This monopole vineyard came into the Bouchard family in 1791, 60 years after the maison was founded. This wine is smoky and full of fruit and sweet tannins. With its balanced tannins and rich fruits, it is developing well. The dense structure behind the fruit promises good aging. Drink from 2020. Score: 94 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Oct. 2016)

DOMAINE P. DUBREUIL-FONTAINE CORTON-BRESSANDES GRAND CRU 2013
AC

297200 (XD) 750mL $102.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru has a refined, slightly tertiary bouquet with hints of wild herbs and mint permeating the black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle grip on the entry, the acidity nicely judged with decent structure. There is focus here with a welcome touch of salinity on the finish. This should drink well over the next 8 to 10 years. Score: 90-92 (Neal Martin, robertparker.com, Jan. 2015)

DOMAINE HERESZTYN MAZZINI GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN VIEILLES VIGNES 2012
AC

484576 (XD) 750mL $90.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes (Cuvee 3) comes from the lieux-dits "Jouise" and "Le Fourneau" and it seems to handles the oak a little better than the Cuvee 1 (actually, it has 25% rather than 35% and it makes a big difference.) The palate is crisp and taut, very well-balanced with a fine thread of acidity and a touch of spice on the finish. This is the best Vieille Vignes cuvee. Score: 90-92 (Neal Martin, robertparker.com, Feb. 26, 2014)

DOMAINE WILLIAM FÈVRE MONTMAINS CHABLIS 1ER CRU 2014
AC

977587 (XD) 750mL $51.00

TASTING NOTE: Lean yet juicy, with lemon and green apple flavors buoyed by the vivid structure. Shows fine balance and length. Drink now through 2019. Score: 92 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, June 30, 2016)

CHANSON PÈRE & FILS LES PREUSES CHABLIS GRAND CRU 2013
AC

478420 (XD) 750mL $93.00

TASTING NOTE: This is a rich and rounded wine, full of yellow fruits that shine through the tense texture. It is ripe, showing minerality as well as tropical fruits and red apples. The wine is going to age relatively quickly, so drink from 2019. Score: 93 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Aug. 2016)

LOUIS JADOT LE CLOS BLANC BEAUNE GRÈVES 1ER CRU 2012
AC

436139 (XD) 750mL $85.00

TASTING NOTE: An accessible, detailed and harmonious white, delivering peach, floral and spice aromas and flavors on an elegant frame, lingering on the mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2022. Score: 92 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, Sept. 30, 2015)

COURBIS LES EYGATS CORNAS 2014
AC

719385 (XD) 750mL $75.00

The just-released 2014 vintage has yet to be reviewed, although collectors should be encouraged by the fact that all five of the most recently reviewed vintages of this wine received scores in the 93-99 points range on robertparker.com. Grown in granite at 250m altitude in east- and southeast-facing Cornas vineyards, this wine is consistently a gem in the crown of a domaine Parker (in Wine Advocate, Dec. 26, 2012) dubbed "one of the most quality conscious estates in the Northern Rhône."

TARDIEU-LAURENT COTEAUX CORNAS 2014
AC

956698 (XD) 750mL $67.00

TASTING NOTE: Glass-staining ruby. Ripe dark berries, potpourri and fruitcake on the deeply scented nose. Plush and sweet on the palate, offering intense blackberry liqueur and cherry compote flavors underscored and lifted by juicy acidity. Finishes on a smoky mineral note, displaying very good energy and length and harmonious tannins. Score: 91-93 (Josh Raynolds, vinous.com, March 2016)

DOMAINE GRAND VENEUR VIEILLES VIGNES CHATEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE 2013
AC

490060 (XD) 750mL $117.00

TASTING NOTE: In the top 1-2 wines of the vintage, the 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is a Mourvedre shifted blend of 40% Grenache, 40% Mourvedre and 20% Syrah that saw 16 months in 60% small barrels, with the balance in concrete tanks. There's just over 400 cases produced and this inky colored, beautifully concentrated effort offers loads of roasted meats, licorice, chocolate and sweet black fruits. Seamless, sexy and seamless, with uncommon polish and ripeness to its tannin, it will have 10-15+ years of longevity. Score: 95 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Oct. 29, 2015)

FAMILLE PERRIN LES HAUTS DE JULIEN VIEILLES VIGNES VINSOBRES 2012
AC

673418 (XD) 750mL $46.00

TASTING NOTE: An alluring ganache note pulls you in and the flavors of steeped plum and macerated blackberry hold you there. Velvety in feel despite the smoldering charcoal hint, this lets the fruit win out in the end, with spice and toast accents melding into the background. Drink now through 2018. Score: 92 (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, Nov. 15, 2015)

COMPAGNIE DE L'HERMITAGE LES ROCOULES ERMITAGE BLANC 2012
AC

486019 (XD) 750mL $121.00

TASTING NOTE: A blockbuster from this estate (and maybe my favorite from him) is the 2012 Ermitage Blanc les Rocoules. Made from (I believe) 100% Marsanne, from one of the best terroirs for white in Hermitage, this total stunner offers up rich, unctuous notes of caramelized peaches, flower oil, marzipan and licorice. Full-bodied, beautifully concentrated and with considerable depth and density, it stays fresh and lively all the way through the finish. It's a gorgeous white that's well worth the extra effort to track down. Score: 95 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2015)

DOMAINE MARC KREYDENWEISS G. C. KASTELBERG RIESLING 2013
AC Alsace Grand Cru

490136 (D) 750mL $79.00

TASTING NOTE: "The Kastelberg is one of the best soils we have in Alsace," says Antoine Kreydenweiss adding "this is, according to my father Marcel, the Montrachet of Alsace. The Rieslings from the Kastelberg can age for decades. " So let's take a few seconds for a quick excursion to geology: Located on the northern outskirts of Andlau, the Kastelberg extends over a small hillock, its steep slopes exposed to the south, at an altitude ranging from 240 to 300 meters. the Kastelberg is one of the rare vineyard areas established on soils of the Vosges basement. It lies on the Steige schist of the Silurian age, unique in Alsace, which has been metamorphosed by a granite outcropping on the upper part of the site, the origin of Kreydenweiss's Riesling Grand Cru Kastelberg, into very hard, dark-colored soils made up of quartz, mica and chlorite. The soil is hence very stony and well-drained, mixed with granitic sand at the summit of the hill. Its total surface area of 5,82 hectares that is best suited to Riesling. Very clear, pure, fresh and aromatic, the 2013 Riesling Grand Cru Kastelberg exhibits a very floral/herbal, stony and white stone fruit aroma on the concentrated nose. Medium-bodied, very pure and delicate but also intense, full of tension and a lot of salt this is a fresh and bone dry yet very complex and firmly structured Riesling with grippy tannins and a long, long finish. Bottled in May 2014 the 2013 is still very young but promising and could possibly take the same direction as the gorgeous 2008. "We go for a good maturity here but no over-maturity," Antoine lectures. "2013 was a late vintage and a late harvest. However, we just picked at the right time so the wine is quite moderate in its alcohol weight." Indeed, the alcohol content of 12.5% is very digestible here. Keep the 2013 Kastelberg for another 5 or 6 years and try to enjoy it over two decades. Score: 93+ (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, Sept. 29, 2015)

DUVAL-LEROY FEMME DE CHAMPAGNE BRUT CHAMPAGNE 2000
AC

670364 (D) 750mL $184.00

TASTING NOTE: A rich version, with beautiful integration and mouthwatering acidity that seems to amplify the flavors of toasted raisin bread, black currant, candied orange zest and salted almond. Fresh and focused, showing hints of oyster shell and spice on the lasting finish. Disgorged September 2014. Drink now through 2030. Score: 94 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, Nov. 30, 2015)

HENRIOT BRUT ROSÉ CHAMPAGNE
AC

384099 (XD) 750mL $92.00

TASTING NOTE: A beautiful range of aromatic spices accents the white raspberry, pastry and pink grapefruit notes in this harmonious rosé . There's tension to the knit of vibrant acidity and chalky texture, driving this to a lasting, minerally finish. Drink now through 2020. Score: 93 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, Oct. 31, 2016)

DOMAINE HUET MOELLEUX PREMIERE TRIE CLOS DU BOURG VOUVRAY 2003
AC

487009 (S) 750mL $159.00

TASTING NOTE: Served from the 500 ml bottle, the apricot-golden colored 2003 Vouvray Clos du Bourg Moelleux Première Trie offers a beautifully deep, intense, concentrated and at the same time precise, fresh and refined fruit aroma of fully ripe and cooked peaches along with refreshing lemon and spicy/mineral flavors on the nose. On the sweet and fruity, highly elegant, balanced and finesse-full palate, there is a gorgeous precision, freshness and piquancy that leads to a correspondingly precise, piquant and salty finish that is simply great and almost unrivaled. This 2003 is one of the greatest, because it's the finest and most balanced Moelleux of this tasting, and if I had to draw a comparison it would be to the 1959 and the 1945. Score: 98+ (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, Nov. 29 ,2015)

BAMBERGER MONZINGER FRÜHLINGSPLÄTZCHEN RIESLING TROCKEN 2014
Qualitätswein

487579 (D) 750mL $27.00

TASTING NOTE: Quite restrained on the nose. Slightly spritzy, powerful on the palate with flavours of juicy ripe pears. Lively, explosive, intense wine with an amazing freshness. Typical example of Monzingen. Drink 2017-2025. Score: 95 (Tasting panel, decanter.com, July 14, 2016)

IL POLLENZA 2009
IGT Marche

342030 (D) 750mL $100.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2009 Il Pollenza is a sensual and enriched red blend that oozes forth with beautiful intensity and aromatic generosity. This is a very giving wine. What it gives, precisely, is abundance. Its appearance is inky back and impenetrable. The bouquet follows suit with profoundly dark aromas of plum, blackberry and prune. Those pronounced fruit tones are enhanced by Indian spice, leather, dark vanilla stick and crushed granite. In terms of complexity, this wine really delivers the goods. It shows textural richness, soft tannins and a long finish that keeps you counting. Score: 95+ (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, March 30, 2016)

DAMILANO LISTE BAROLO 2010
DOCG

451807 (XD) 750mL $75.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2010 Barolo Liste is utterly seductive and charming from start to long finish. This wine awards a high pleasure quota with the proverbial opulence and hedonistic plumpness that is not easy to achieve with the austere Nebbiolo grape. The Liste vineyard delivers the natural characteristics that are appropriate for dark and shapely wines. Thick extraction is followed by dark fruit, pressed blackberry, exotic spice, cola and balsam herb. It ages for two years in oak and two years in bottle, but it needs more time to lose its baby fat. Drink this bottle after 2018. Score: 95 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, June 28, 2015)

TENUTA DI FESSINA ERSE 2014
DOC Etna

488601 (XD) 750mL $33.00

TASTING NOTE: Delicate scents of red berry, blue flower and crushed stone lift out of the glass. The vibrant, elegantly structured palate offers succulent wild cherry, fleshy black raspberry, cinnamon and light baking spice alongside fresh acidity and smooth, supple tannins. A mineral vein gives it precision and intensity. Score: 93 (Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, Aug. 2016)

MONTEVERTINE LE PERGOLE TORTE 2013
IGT Toscana

316604 (XD) 750mL $162.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Le Pergole Torte is shaping up to be magnificent. Powerful yet weightless, the 2013 displays compelling, crystalline purity, with chiseled, beautifully articulated flavors, beams of supporting acidity and captivating overall balance. All the elements are in place for the 2013 to challenge for a spot among the great Pergole Tortes of all time. Drinking window: 2022 - 2042. Score: 95-97+ (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Sept. 2015)

GRATTAMACCO 2012
DOC Bolgheri Superiore

92379 (D) 750mL $90.00

TASTING NOTE: Aromas of blueberries, blackcurrants and blackberries that follow through to a full body, firm and silky tannins and a fresh and clean finish. Very layered and beautiful. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and sangiovese. Celebrates its 30th harvest. Drink in 2017. Score: 94 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Aug. 5, 2015)

LE MACCHIOLE MESSORIO 2012
IGT Toscana

316612 (XD) 750mL $262.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2012 Messorio is a drop dead gorgeous wine. Warm summer temperatures have done their part to shape a soft and supple wine that feels like silk sheets against the palate. The bouquet is redolent of red fruit, bold cherry, leather, spice, tar, licorice and grilled herb. The youth of the wine allows you the perspective of contemplating each one of those aromas individually. They will, of course, reach greater harmony and integration as the wine continues its long evolution. This wine reflects beautifully on the magnificence of Merlot in Coastal Tuscany. Score: 97 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, Oct. 28, 2016)

LE MACCHIOLE SCRIO 2012
IGT Toscana

945352 (XD) 750mL $187.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2012 Scrio is a unique and dare I say atypical expression of Syrah. The bouquet presents big intensity with cola, balsam herb and licorice. At the back are tones of tar, Teriyaki sauce and barbecue smoke. I don't think I have ever tasted a Syrah quite like this. It shows a level of balsam intensity that I have never previously encountered. The bouquet glows with Tuscan sunshine. Drink: 2016-2028. Score: 93 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, Oct. 29, 2015)

BRANCAIA IL BLU 2011
IGT Toscana

31559 (D) 750mL $90.00

TASTING NOTE: A landmark wine on all levels, the 2011 Il Blu really seems to love the heat of the vintage. Barbara Widmer says that heat spikes followed by intermittent cool spells helped to establish complexity in her wines. Il Blu is 50% Sangiovese, 45% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose is painted in broad strokes of espresso bean, black cherry, baking spice and moist tobacco. The mouthfeel is infinitely soft and supple. Drink: 2015 - 2028. Score: 94 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, Oct. 30, 2014)

SAN FELICE PUGNITELLO 2011
IGT Toscana

291419 (XD) 750mL $63.00

TASTING NOTE: Distinctive blackberry, cassis, earth, tar and dark chocolate flavors converge on the dense tannins in this red. Fresh, with a burly edge that should pair well with grilled steak or meat sauces. Drink now through 2023. Score: 92 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, Oct. 15, 2015)

LA LECCIAIA MANAPETRA BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2010
DOCG

185009 (XD) 750mL $80.00

TASTING NOTE: Crazy aromas of sliced blood oranges with flowers and spices. Full body, firm and silky and polished tannins. Glorious mouthfeel. Makes you want to drink it. Wow. Score: 96 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Nov. 17, 2015)

MÁTÉ BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2010
DOCG

91587 (XD) 750mL $75.00

TASTING NOTE: A mix of cherry, currant, earth, leather and tobacco aromas and flavors course through this elegant Brunello, with firm, well-integrated tannins and a long, fresh finish. Best from 2017 through 2030. Score: 93 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, June 30, 2016)

TERRALSOLE BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO RISERVA 2010
DOCG

478016 (XD) 750mL $119.00

TASTING NOTE: Ethereal and elegant, the 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a very interesting wine in that it does not show the underpinning power and determination that you see with most Brunellos in this vintage. This expression is far more feminine and graceful. Instead of power, the message here is streamlined elegance. The bouquet is held together with wild berry, spice and balsam herb aromas. The delivery is tight and focused. Like the Brunello Annata from 2011, this wine shows a beautiful mineral side with pencil shaving and crushed granite. This is a memorable Brunello. Drink: 2017-2030. Score: 93+ (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, March 3, 2016)

DAL FORNO ROMANO VALPOLICELLA SUPERIORE 2010
Monte Lodoletta Vineyard, DOC

578666 (XD) 750mL $132.00

TASTING NOTE: Leather, spice, violet and smoke aromas and flavors are an aromatic entry for this expressive red, wafting through notes of plumped black cherry, underbrush and smoky mineral. Firm and dense, but with an overall sense of finesse to the marriage of structure and flavor. Drink now through 2025. Score: 92 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, Oct. 31, 2016)

ROMANO DAL FORNO AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA 2010
DOC

711440 (D) 750mL $476.00

TASTING NOTE: Like a gymnast, this focused red shows both power and grace. Finely meshed flavors of blackberry puree, fig cake and Earl Grey tea leaf are framed by refined, dusty tannins, with a lasting finish expands on the palate with spice and smoky mineral details. Drink now through 2030. Collectibles. Score: 95 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, Oct. 31, 2016)

QUINTA DO CARDO GRANDE ESCOLHA 2011
DOC Beira Interior

380949 (XD) 750mL $49.00

TASTING NOTE: One of the strengths of cool Beira Interior is that it produces powerful wines without the attendant alcohol of warmer climates. That's apparent with this intense, dark wine. Blending Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz, the dense and brooding wine with its rich blackberry fruitiness alongside dry, mineral tannins is a study in concentration and needs to age. Drink from 2018. Cellar Selection. Score: 94 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Aug. 2014)

MIRABILIS GRANDE RESERVA 2015
DO Douro

491951 (D) 750mL $69.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Branco Grande Reserva Mirabilis is a blend of 15% Viosinho, 15% Gouveio and 70% very old vines, aged for nine months in a mixture of French and Hungarian oak (35% new). This is the winery's prestige white. It got off to a fairly slow start when the brand first debuted (at least considering the price point), but this is simply a consistently impressive Douro white these days. This might be its best vintage yet, its freshest and purest. A tank sample (out of barrel and to be bottled in about two weeks) when seen this summer in Porto, this was in fine shape even then. Consider this to be a preview. It shows just a bit of oak now, but its persistence and freshness overwhelm the wood. Beautifully balanced, it is elegant rather than fat, emphasizing finesse and minerality. The selling point here, though, is that fine, lingering finish. It's a beauty in the making. When it is released, let it settle down a little if you can hold it. It should age well. There will be no rush. Drink: 2017-2030. Score: 94-96 (Mark Squires, robertparker.com, Aug. 30, 2016)

CASTELL D'ENCUS QUEST 2013
DO Costers del Segre

446658 (XD) 750mL $64.00

TASTING NOTE: Cooler than the previous two vintages I tasted last year the 2013 Quest is a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot from vineyards planted in 2003 fermented exclusively in the old stone pools from the 12th century. It matured in brand new French oak barrels for 18 months. The dominant aromas are herbal, very spicy, with the oak in the background and a mixture of different berries and herbs. The palate shows the elegant tannins of the Bordeaux varieties, a clear Atlantic accent (it had some Mediterranean touches in other vintages) with good acidity and a remarkable length. There is austerity and balance here indicating that this is not a showy wine by any means. It has subtle elegance and it should age in bottle for a long time. I like this very much. It would be interesting to follow its evolution. Drink: 2015-2023. Score: 94 (Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com, June 28 2015)

REMELLURI RESERVA 2010
DOCa Rioja

480160 (XD) 750mL $44.00

TASTING NOTE: The wine that represents the house style and also the biggest volume here with around 350,000 bottles produced is the 2010 Reserva which was cropped from an almost perfect growing season. A blend of the reds Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano and the whites Viura and Malvasía Riojana, it fermented with indigenous yeasts in a combination of stainless steel and oak vats then matured in French oak barrels for 17 months. The nose has earthy aromas and notes of ripe orange peel giving old-style character to the wine marked by very well-integrated oak and an obvious Rioja character. There are cherries, plums and spices with licorice and ink aromas. The day after, it has more strawberries with very good freshness, so the evolution in bottle should be good. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and good acidity that ends with sweet fruit flavors and something earthy, very pleasant and easy to drink. It grows on you. Drink: 2015-2025. Score: 93 (Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com, April 29, 2015)

TERRES DE VIDALBA TOCS 2007
DOQ Priorat

268904 (XD) 750mL $50.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2007 TOCS was sourced from a single vineyard named Barranc de la Bruixa located outside the town of Poboleda. The blend is 35% Garnacha, 30% Syrah, with the balance Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot aged for 16 months in 20% new French oak. Aromas of wood smoke, mineral, herbs, lavender, black cherry, and blueberry inform the nose of this layered, opulent Priorat. With excellent volume and enough structure to evolve for 1-2 years, this sweetly-fruited, lengthy offering will be at its best [now] to 2022. Score: 93 (Jay Miller, robertparker.com, May 2011)

FAUSTINO I GRAN RESERVA 1994
DOCa Rioja

929489 (XD) 750mL $65.00

TASTING NOTE: Deep, sweet dark-cherry fruit forms a solid foundation for this impressive wine. There's a touch of menthol oak on the nose; plenty of leather and earth accents in the mouth, coupled with good acidity, keep the palate complex and lively. Finishes long, with full but-not harsh-tannins. Editors' Choice. Score: 92 (Wine Enthusiast, May 2001)

DOMAINE QUEYLUS CABERNET FRANC/MERLOT LA GRANDE RÉSERVE 2012
VQA Niagara Peninsula

483354 (XD) 750mL $49.95

TASTING NOTE: In 2012 the varietal relationship is magnified, pursued with prejudice and made blatantly obvious. The Cabernet Franc does the heavy lifting, bringing out the lovely dust, fine aggregate and mulled berry aspects of the Merlot. Richness is Merlot deep. Length, depth and a serious zest for blended life emits from energy. This vitality begins in the clay soil and the pioneering vision of Mr. Alain Sutre. Thomas and Kelly have transmitted his identification for the Queylus site to be one of the great essential locales in the development of harmony and power for the Bordeaux in Niagara varietal treatise. This is the starting point for the plan. It's also a wine that is a product of Pinot Noir winemakers and doubting Thomases. Because it goes ripe. Drink 2017-2027. Tasted June 2015. Score: 92 (Michael Godel, winealign.com, Dec. 24, 2015)

TAWSE ROBYN'S BLOCK CHARDONNAY 2013
VQA Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Escarpment

416321 (XD) 750mL $45.95

This, the flagship Chardonnay from four-time National Wine Awards of Canada winery of the year, is grown in a certified organic and biodynamic vineyard containing the winery's oldest estate plantings, whose vines are more than 33 years old. The wine is barrel fermented and matured 12 months in French oak, and it's poised to show beautifully for up to a decade.

CLONAKILLA SHIRAZ/VIOGNIER 2015
Canberra District

27367 (XD) 750mL $101.00

TASTING NOTE: It's rare to see a syrah-based wine that delivers power in such an elegant way. 2015 is a really impressive vintage for Clonakilla across the board and this, the flagship wine, is every bit as great as it should be. The aromatic spectrum is vast, from fine musky florals to white pepper and almost every imaginable spice. Then there's an incredibly exuberant explosion of fruit: boysenberries, raspberries, cherries of every shade, and plums covering everything from red to blue to purple hues; it is full of life. The palate has an incredibly deep draw, displaying a total saturation of ripe red- cherry, raspberry and red- plum flavors, chocolate and a dusting of white pepper. The tannins radiate light and energetic bright from start to finish. Perfectly ripe, seamlessly balanced and actually very approachable. Drink it now, but there's plenty to come in time; this will be best from 2022. Score: 99 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, April 17, 2016)

GLAETZER AMON-RA SHIRAZ 2014
Barossa Valley

58032 (XD) 750mL $85.00

TASTING NOTE: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Amon-Ra Shiraz has a youthfully mute nose, offering glimpses at the blackberry, blackcurrant and licorice core, plus suggestions of dark chocolate, cigar boxes, fertile earth and baking spices. The full-bodied palate delivers concentrated, muscular blackberry and earth flavors with plenty of freshness and a beautiful backbone of finely grained tannins, finishing with commendable persistence and layers. This is a great contender for wine of the vintage! Drink: 2018-2032. Score: 96+ (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, June 29, 2016)

ROLF BINDER HEYSEN SHIRAZ 2013
Barossa Valley

27300 (XD) 750mL $60.00

TASTING NOTE: Deep, vivid colour; a complex and enticing bouquet has licorice, spice, black fruits and oak all competing for space, a battle of epic proportions on the palate. A full-bodied shiraz of the highest quality, not only thanks to its power, but also its balance and harmony, oak and tannins precisely weighted. Drink By: 2048. Score: 97 (James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au, Aug. 11, 2016)

HICKINBOTHAM CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2010
Clarendon

983809 (XD) 750mL $94.00

TASTING NOTE: Very deep purple-black in color, the 2010 Hickenbotham Cabernet Sauvignon is intensely scented of creme de cassis, blackberry preserves and plum compote with touches of menthol, cloves and dark chocolate. Full-bodied and richly fruited in the mouth with tons of black fruit, Chinese five spice and earth flavor layers supported by firm, finely grained tannins and lively acid, it finishes with great length. Drink it 2014 to 2024+. Score: 94+ (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Feb. 27, 2013)

SUCKFIZZLE SAUVIGNON BLANC/SEMILLON 2013
Margaret River

485847 (XD) 750mL $46.00

TASTING NOTE: Beautifully restrained, with a richness of zesty citrus lemon, juicy fresh lime and lifted herbal aromas, all cosseted in soft, silky oak. Rounded and opulent on the palate, while still retaining finesse, and skillfully layered with flinty mineral, zingy lemon and silky soft oak. Platinum: Best Australian White Blend over £15. Score: 95 (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2016)

PORSELEINBERG SYRAH 2014
WO Swartland

483941 (XD) 750mL $100.00

TASTING NOTE: This is loaded with layers of warm boysenberry, raspberry and blackberry confiture, stretching out over a well-embedded iron note and picking up anise, violet and juniper details along the way. Dense, lithe and seriously long. Impressive. Syrah. Best from 2017 through 2025. Score: 95 (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, Sept. 30, 2016)

KEN FORRESTER THE FMC CHENIN BLANC 2015
WO Stellenbosch

37291 (D) 750mL $65.00

The acronym emblazoned on the winery's flagship bottling, FMC, stands for Forrester Meinert Chenin - a nod to winemakers Ken Forrester and Martin Meinert, and to their assertion that this wine is not only their pinnacle expression of Chenin Blanc, but also a statement of challenge to the world. The fruit is sourced from low-yielding old bush vines and hand-selected over multiple 'tries successives' passes through the vineyard during the harvest season (the result being increased ripeness, richness and some botrytis complexity), before natural wild yeast begins the fermentation in new French oak barrels.

TEHO MALBEC 2013
Uco Valley

482075 (XD) 750mL $65.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 TeHo Malbec is sourced from the oldest part of their 1955 vineyard, from a higher altitude terrace planted around 1940. It is made with a field blend, mainly Malbec with some Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Bonarda, Tempranillo. Everything goes together into the fermentation containers (egg-shaped cement vats, plastic bins and open barrels). It's ripe and heady with notes of plums, damsons, aromatic herbs and forest floor. The palate is full-bodied (but the wine is just below 14% alcohol) juicy, a bit chewy, with good grip and clout. This is an XL Malbec, with concentration and stuffing to age. Score: 95 (Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com, Aug. 27, 2015)

FOXEN BIEN NACIDO VINEYARD BLOCK 8 PINOT NOIR 2013
Santa Maria Valley

490755 (XD) 750mL $79.00

TASTING NOTE: Cinnamon spice and pomegranate fruit give a soft touch to minerally driven aromas of black slate and wet cement on the nose of this block-designated (and trademarked!) wine. The wine's tannic grip and tartness are apparent on the texturally distinct palate before raspberry, hibiscus and rose petal flavors settle into a long, rich finish. Score: 94 (Matt Kettman, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 31, 2015)

OPUS ONE 2013
Napa Valley

26310 (D) 750mL $550.00

TASTING NOTE: The greatest Opus ever. Terrific aromas of crushed black currants, blueberries and flowers with hints of sweet tobacco. Roses continue to exude opulence and class. Full body, superb balance of ultra-fine tannins and vibrant acidity. Complex aftertaste of black fruits and citrus fruit. Extremely persistent. So approachable now and enjoyable. But will be even better in 2019 and beyond. 79% cabernet sauvignon, 7% cabernet franc, 6% merlot, 6% petit verdot, 2% malbec. This will always be beautiful to drink. Score: 100 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Sept. 13, 2016)

ZOTOVICH ESTATE GROWN SYRAH 2013
Santa Rita Hills

491126 (XD) 750mL $70.00

TASTING NOTE: Zotovich's 2013 Syrah Estate Grown is a real stunner. A host of violet, lavender, mint, cloves and black cherries open up first, followed by subtle hints of black pepper and game that lurk in the background. The 2013 is deep and dense yet also maintains a sense of translucency that is deeply enticing. Simply put, this is a great showing from Ryan Zotovich. Readers who can find the 2013 should not hesitate, as it is fabulous. Drinking window: 2017-2024. Score: 95 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Aug. 2015)

SHAFER HILLSIDE SELECT CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2012
Stags Leap District

735712 (XD) 750mL $423.00

TASTING NOTE: Shafer's flagship wine, and one of the world's greatest Cabernet Sauvignons, is the Hillside Select, which comes from the rocky, volcanic soils on hillsides above the winery. Vineyard production is small, and the wine an incredible example of Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged in 100% new oak for 32 months and bottled unfiltered, this can generally be expected to be one of the top dozen or so Cabernet Sauvignons in virtually any vintage in Napa, and certainly possesses 25 to possibly 50 years of aging potential. The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is a perfect wine. It elicits more than a few "wows" when you smell the incredible notes of charcoal, graphite and subtle toast, buttressed and dominated by blackcurrant, blackberry and blueberry fruit. The purity of these fruits, the multidimensional mouthfeel, the seamless integration of acid, alcohol, tannin and wood are all flawless. The 2012 signature adds an extravagant opulence and density that is just mind-boggling, and the wine is a total hedonistic and intellectual turn-on already, although it has 30+ years of life ahead of it. Score: 100 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Oct. 28, 2016)

OPUS ONE OVERTURE
Napa Valley

487504 (XD) 750mL $257.00

Napa connoisseurs and collectors rejoice, for here it is: The debut of Overture at Vintages. Made available only recently as a commercial release, Overture has - since 1993 - been the second wine of Opus in the tradition of the great Bordeaux estates. Sourced from the same estate vineyards as Opus One and presented here in its vintage-spanning incarnation, the Overture too is a classic Bordeaux blend built around Cabernet Sauvignon.

ROSEROCK ZÉPHIRINE PINOT NOIR 2014
Eloa-Amity Hills

488684 (XD) 750mL $72.00

TASTING NOTE: A juicy and intense wine with with lots of plum, chocolate and cedar undertones. Full-bodied and velvety. Pretty, gorgeous, racy and just so fine. Love the fruit and texture. Drink now. Score: 96 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Nov. 2, 2016)

TO ALBALÁ DON PX SELECCION MONTILLA-MORILES 1967
DO

491647 750mL $199.00

Here is a spectacular way to celebrate a milestone or anniversary. Montilla-Moriles specializes in wine styles similar to those of Jerez (Sherry), but is situated inland of its spirit-twin. It's also the region that produces most of Spain's Pedro Ximénez, the grape used here as well as in Jerez to produce famously long-lived, sweet and rich fortified wines. When our Vintages buyers discovered this winery had only one barrel of this 1967 PX, they bought all of it. Each of the five local wine writers who've reviewed it thus far - Tony Aspler (97 points), David Lawrason (98), John Szabo MS (97), Michael Godel (97) and Carolyn Hammond (96) - awarded it ratings of 96 points or above.

TASTING NOTE: This is an amazing piece of work - liquid dark chocolate, prune and licorice with lifted rancio, chinoto tension. It's so thick, so sweet yet sublimely elegant with such unexpected poise and acidity. Thick but tender with 17% alcohol barely registering. Great focus, acidity and outstanding length. A treasure of the wine world. Score: 98 (David Lawrason, winealign.com, Nov. 24, 2016)
