DELAMAIN EXTRA DE GRANDE CHAMPAGNE COGNAC
AC, Grande Champagne

495705 700mL $478.00

TASTING NOTE: Pungent aromas of white grapes and nectarines. Bright and citrusy flavors pair well with the smooth and somewhat suede-like texture that is laden with spices such as white pepper, mace and cardamom. Extraordinary. Ultimate Recommendation. Score: 96 (Tasting panel, Ultimate Spirits Challenge, 2015)

CHATEAU GLORIA 2012
AC Saint-Julien

9829 (XD) 750mL $77.00

TASTING NOTE: Barrel sample. Solid and concentrated, this wine certainly shows great dryness as well as fruit. It has power and density, and a texture that balances new wood as well as the fruitiness. Score: 93 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, April 11, 2013)

DULUC DE BRANAIRE-DUCRU 2010
2nd wine of Branaire-Ducru, AC Saint-Julien

490532 (XD) 750mL $60.00

TASTING NOTE: Shows a little flash, with roasted mesquite and apple wood notes playing off each other, followed by a velvety core of plum sauce, currant confiture and Black Mission fig fruit. The sleek finish lets the fruit play out. Best from 2014 through 2025. Score: 91 (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, web only, 2013)

LE PAUILLAC DE LATOUR 2010
AC Pauillac

182766 (XD) 750mL $132.00

TASTING NOTE: The best Pauillac I ever tasted (and this wine has been a revelation ever since they first introduced it), the 2010 from Latour represents 24% of their production. It is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44.5% Merlot and .5% Cabernet Franc. An amazingly opulent, round, delicious wine, and a great buy when they finally release it - assuming it comes in under a three-digit price - it possesses wonderfully silky tannins, classic black currant, cedar wood and forest floor notes, and rich, full-bodied opulence as well as a terrific purity and palate presence. It should drink well for 10-15+ years. Score: 93 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Feb. 27, 2013)

CHÂTEAU GRUAUD-LAROSE 2001
AC Saint-Julien, 2e Cru

940270 (XD) 750mL $190.00

TASTING NOTE: (a blend of 60% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot, 7% cabernet franc and 3% petit verdot): Ruby with a pale rim. Rich, ripe nose offers red cherry, plum, spice, mineral and violet aromas. Dense, chewy and fresh, with precise, intense red and black fruit flavors complicated by a hint of licorice. Features a persistent saline note on the rich, long, slightly chunky finish. A very successful Gruaud. Score: 91 (Ian D'Agata, vinous.com, April 2013)

CHARLES AUDOIN MARSANNAY LES LONGEROIES 2014
AC

487405 (XD) 750mL $49.00

TASTING NOTE: This is also mildly reduced but the underlying fruit again seems ripe. There is fine punch and mid-palate density on the sleek, delicious and relatively refined medium-bodied flavors that also exude a fine bead of minerality on the balanced and lingering finish that is ever-so-slightly more complex. Good stuff. Outstanding Top Value. Drink: 2022+ Score: 89-92 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, Jan. 15, 2016)

REMOISSENET PERE & FILS LES SUCHOTS VOSNE-ROMANEE PREMIER CRU 2014
AC

496737 (XD) 750mL $159.00

TASTING NOTE: A wonderfully spicy nose is composed of Asian-style tea, sandalwood, plum and floral elements that include lilac and lavender. There is impressive richness to the velvet-textured and lush flavors that possess solid concentration and plenty of tannin-buffering dry extract on the balanced and dusty finale. Drink: 2024+ Score: 90-92 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, April 15, 2016)

RENE BOUVIER CHARMES-CHAMBERTIN GRAND CRU 2011
AC

490367 (XD) 750mL $196.00

TASTING NOTE: The right sense of weight and structure are allied with gorgeous fruitiness and freshness. This winning combination shows black fruits and a brooding character that needs time. Drink from 2018. Cellar Selection. Score: 94 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Sept. 1, 2014)

LOUIS JADOT MEURSAULT 2014
AC

494963 (XD) 750mL $72.00

TASTING NOTE: As with several wines in the range this is so firmly reduced as to prevent a proper evaluation of the nose. I like the mid-palate density and mouth feel of the medium-bodied flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the generously proportioned and lingering finish. This is another Jadot 2014 that should be approachable young but reward mid-term aging too. Recommended. Outstanding. Drink: 2021+ Score: 89-91 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, June 15, 2016)

LOUIS MICHEL & FILS CHABLIS 1ER CRU MONTÉE DE TONNERRE 2013
AC

933499 (XD) 750mL $50.00

TASTING NOTE: Lemon, white flowers, sage, herbs and mint all jump from the glass in the 2013 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre. A classic and highly representative wine from this great site, the 2013 sizzles with energy, tension and pure class. Petrol, graphite and smoke add nuance on the brilliant finish. This is a great, great showing. Drinking window: 2016+ Score: 92-94 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, June 2014)

PASCAL BOUCHARD LES CLOS CHABLIS GRAND CRU 2013
AC

406314 (XD) 750mL $83.00

TASTING NOTE: Considered by many as the finest of the Grand Crus, Les Clos is steep, south-facing and impressive just to look at. Like many wines from this vineyard, this wine has immense power and concentration. It is rich, dense and full of tight but rich yellow and green fruits shot through with intense acidity. It is still very young and needs to be aged. Drink from 2019. Score: 95 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, May 1, 2016)

AU PIED DU MONT CHAUVE CHASSAGNE-MONTRACHET 1ER CRU LES CHENEVOTTES 2012
AC

490524 (XD) 750mL $97.00

TASTING NOTE: Structured and tight, this mineral-driven wine is still in its initial stages of development. It has crisp acidity, layers of spicy wood and a rich palate. Apples and white peach emerge from the firm, young structure. Drink this wine from 2018. The vineyard is next door to the Grand Cru Montrachet vines. Cellar Selection. Score: 94 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, May 1, 2016)

DELAS FRÈRES FRANÇOIS DE TOURNON SAINT-JOSEPH 2013
AC

17525 (XD) 750mL $54.00

TASTING NOTE: Similar to the Saint Epine release quality-wise, the 2013 St Joseph Cuvee Francois de Tournon offers more richness, breadth and layer compared to the tighter, more focused, granite-influenced Saint Epine. Plum, black raspberry, licorice, cracked pepper and graphite flows to a medium to full-bodied, concentrated, structured 2013 that needs 3-4 years of cellaring; it will have two decades of longevity. Coming mostly from vineyards around Tournon and Mauves, it spent 12 months in 30% new French oak. Drink Date: 2018-2038. Score: 92 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2015)

PERRIN VIEILLES VIGNES GIGONDAS 2013
AC

14985 (D) 750mL $60.00

TASTING NOTE: Vivid ruby. powerful aromas of raspberry liqueur, potpourri and smoky minerals, plus a hint of incense. Sweet, seamless and concentrated, offering fresh red berry, lavender and licorice pastille flavors that become more energetic with air. Becomes spicier on the strikingly long, penetrating finish, which features fine-grained tannins and a suave floral nuance. Drinking window: 2020-2026. Score: 93 (Josh Raynolds, vinous.com, Feb. 2016)

DOMAINE DE LA CHARBONNIÈRE CUVÉE VIEILLES VIGNES CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE 2012
AC

62554 (D) 750mL $65.00

TASTING NOTE: I was shocked at how good the 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Vieilles Vignes was showing, and this classic, structured 2012 will be one of the longer lived wines in the vintage. Black cherries, scorched earth, garrigue and spice all emerge from this full-bodied, layered and concentrated 2012 that will keep for another 10-15 years. Drink Date:2015-2026. Score: 94 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Oct. 28, 2016)

DOMAINE GRAND VENEUR LA FONTAINE CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE BLANC 2014
AC

241471 (XD) 750mL $67.00

TASTING NOTE: One of the top whites from Châteauneuf du Pape is unquestionably the La Fontaine cuvee from the Jaume family. Made from 100% Roussanne, the 2014 Châteauneuf du Pape La Fontaine Blanc sports a medium-gold color to go with fabulous notes of honeysuckle, crème brûlée and citrus. Medium to full-bodied, fresh, clean and crisp, it's slightly more fresh and focused than normal, but that's the vintage for the whites. It will be better in 6 months (probably by the time you read this) and have a decade or more of longevity. As always, the safe bet is to enjoy these in the first 5-6 years after the vintage. Drink Date: 2015-2021. Score: 92 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Oct. 29, 2015)

BILLECART SALMON SOUS BOIS BRUT CHAMPAGNE
AC

484170 (XD) 750mL $108.00

TASTING NOTE: Fermented and aged briefly in wood, this is dry, intense and toasty while still giving space for white fruits and some citrus. Richly endowed, spicy, and tangy, its structure and tight texture mark it out as a Champagne for long-term aging. The aftertaste is brisk, packed with acidity and with reminiscences of the oak-aging in the vanilla finish. Drink this bottling from 2018. Cellar Selection. Best of year 2016. Score: 95 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 1, 2016)

GOSSET GRAND BLANC DE BLANCS BRUT CHAMPAGNE
AC

484147 (XD) 750mL $98.00

TASTING NOTE: This finely meshed Champagne features vibrant acidity and a satiny texture, with hints of apricot tart, marzipan and pastry cream enlivened by bright lemon curd, chopped nut and tangy fleur de sel accents. Drink now through 2022. Score: 92 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, Oct. 15, 2015)

DOMAINE DU PÉLICAN ARBOIS CHARDONNAY 2015
AC Arbois, Jura

496455 (XD) 750mL $51.00

Arbois is a town in the north of the Jura region of eastern France. The wine capital of Jura, it gives its name to the region's most prolific appellation for red, white and rosé wines. The appellation itself was introduced in 1936 and covers 13 communes on the hills and valley slopes surrounding the town. The terroir is characterized by limestone and marlstone screes and sandy soils, and its wines typically express brilliant natural acidity and complex minerality. Domaine de Pélican's Chardonnay is a particularly nervy, floral expression with impressive cellar potential.

LE CLOS DES FEES COTES DU ROUSSILLON VILLAGES 2013
AC

461871 (D) 750mL $77.00

TASTING NOTE: Much more classic in style than the exuberant, flamboyant La Petite Siberie, the 2013 Cotes du Roussillon Villages le Clos des Fees checks in as a blend of 50% Syrah, 20% Grenache, 20% Carignan and 10% Mourvèdre, all of which was aged 16 months in 60% new French oak. This full-bodied, ripe, structured 2013 has fabulous density and depth to go with first-rate notes of cassis, black raspberry, licorice and subtle oak. This is a classic, age-worthy Roussillon that will keep for two decades. Drink Date: 2016-2036. Score: 96 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, April 27, 2016)

CHATEAU VIGNELAURE 2010
AC Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence

966168 (XD) 750mL $37.00

TASTING NOTE: This serious wine is still developing even after five years. It is rich, dense and concentrated with firm tannins that lie under the ripe black fruits and acidity. From vineyards to the east of Aix-en-Provence, the wine has a mineral, structured character that needs to age. Drink from 2018. Cellar Selection. Score: 93 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 31, 2015)

TSELEPOS DRIOPI RESERVE NEMEA 2013
PDO Nemea

491886 (XD) 750mL $29.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Agiorgitiko Reserve (the Nemea Reserve) is an Agiorgitiko aged for 12 months in new French oak. It comes in at 14.5% alcohol. You might swoon for this-and it is a fantastic bargain. Showing finesse in the mid-palate, its texture is also pure velvet. Those features make it very sensual and elegant. It seems concentrated, but subtly-never clumsy or thick. Perfectly balanced, it adds fine fruit and intensity of flavor, finishing with a strawberry nuance, plus a real backbone. The finish lingers and grips the tongue. It has a Burgundian feel to it this year. I don't have them all side-by-side (particularly the super 2010), but right now I would say that this is the best Driopi Reserve yet. Considering this fine producer's reputation, that is saying something. It is far more likely to go up than down, so I am leaning up. You can't go wrong at this price. Drink Date: 2016-2028. Score: 93 (Mark Squires, robertparker.com, June 29, 2016)

BELLAVISTA LA SCALA BRUT FRANCIACORTA 2010
DOCG

494948 (XD) 750mL $74.00

TASTING NOTE: Fresh and floral, this finely knit Franciacorta is long and creamy, with ripe white cherry and Honeycrisp apple fruit and notes of pickled ginger, chalk and lemon parfait. Offers a lingering finish of ground spice and honeysuckle. Drink now through 2021. Score: 90 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, July 31, 2016)

MUSSO PORA BARBARESCO 2013
DOCG

496810 (XD) 750mL $49.00

TASTING NOTE: An elegant, floral-tinged red, with strawberry, wild cherry and mineral aromas and flavors. Lean and firm, but also intensely flavored in an ethereal way. Best from 2019 through 2025. Highly recommended. Score: 94 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, Nov. 15, 2016)

BEL COLLE MONVIGLIERO BAROLO 2012
DOCG

493734 (XD) 750mL $59.00

TASTING NOTE: Fragrant and loaded with finesse, this opens with scents of blue flower, rose, perfumed berry and a hint of dark spice. The bright palate delivers ripe black cherry, crushed raspberry, white pepper and cinnamon alongside tightly wound but remarkably refined tannins. Drink 2017-2022. Score: 94 (Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, Oct. 1, 2016)

G.D. VAJRA RAVERA BAROLO 2012
DOCG

496315 (XD) 750mL $84.00

TASTING NOTE: One of the real knock-out wines of the vintage. Vajra's 2012 Barolo Ravera possesses striking aromatics, vivid, finely sculpted fruit and exceptional balance. Dark red and purplish-hued fruits, lavender, rose petal, mint and hard candy are pushed forward in a sweet, impeccable Barolo that satisfies all the senses. Deep, exquisitely layered and powerful, the 2012 Ravera is shaping up to be a real gem. This is a Barolo to revel in. Next to the Bricco Viole, the Ravera has a bit more mid-palate creaminess and overall depth. Score: 96 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Nov. 2015)

CUSUMANO ALTA MORA ETNA ROSSO 2014
DOC Etna

491977 (XD) 750mL $32.00

TASTING NOTE: Enticing scents of wild red berry, baking spice, aromatic herb and a balsamic note waft out of the glass. The elegant, juicy palate doles out succulent wild cherry, crushed raspberry, cinnamon and a note of white pepper while a mineral note backs up the finish. It's well balanced, with bright acidity and ultrafine tannins. Editor's Choice. Best of year 2016. Score: 94 (Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, Aug. 1, 2016)

BINDELLA VINO NOBILE DI MONTEPULCIANO 2013
DOCG

946962 (XD) 750mL $37.00

TASTING NOTE: Focused and balanced, delivering cherry, leather, tobacco and tar flavors. The sweet fruit and dusty tannins offset each other, and the finish lingers with tobacco and underbrush notes. Drink now through 2023. Score: 92 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, Oct. 31, 2016)

BRANCAIA ILATRAIA 2013
IGT Maremma Toscana

685230 (D) 750mL $69.00

TASTING NOTE: Wow. The 2013 Ilatraia jumps right out at you. This is a tremendous effort - I tasted this wine three times blind and it always came out on top. Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) is blended with Petit Verdot (40%) and Cabernet Franc (20%). The complexity and the ever-changing nature of the bouquet is mind-bending. Ilatraia shows enormous depth and sophistication, and it leaves a profound impact. The wine sports deep color saturation with brilliant flashes of dark ruby. The texture is immensely soft, yielding and seamless in its integration. Dark fruit and blackberry is followed by light notes of tobacco, toasted nut and scorched earth. I am in awe of its complexity. Drink Date: 2017-2030. Score: 97 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2016)

ORMA 2013
IGT Toscana

260984 (XD) 750mL $80.00

TASTING NOTE: Aromas of blackberries, burnt oranges, licorice and spices follow through to a full body, super-integrated and fine tannins plus a fabulous depth of fruit and an impressive center palate. This is a great wine. Drink in 2017. Score: 98 (James Halliday, jamessuckling.com, Nov. 9, 2016)

ROCCA DI MONTEGROSSI GEREMIA 2012
IGT Toscana

113407 (D) 750mL $63.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2012 Geremia (Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot) is the highlight in this range, and also one of the best wines I tasted during my recent trip through Chianti Classico. Deep, dense and brooding, the 2012 is another wine that will require considerable time to come into focus. Today it possesses exceptional depth, power and intensity, all of which will allow it to age effortlessly for many years. With time in the glass, scents of lavender, sage, menthol and licorice start to open up, but the 2012 needs time. This is an absolutely stellar wine from Rocca di Montegrossi and proprietor Marco Ricasoli-Firidolfi. Drinking window: 2020-2037. Score: 96 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, July 2016)

ALTESINO BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2011
DOCG

994095 (D) 750mL $57.00

TASTING NOTE: Fragrant and sleek, this opens with scents of blue flower, pressed powder, perfumed berry and chopped herb. The balanced, full-bodied palate delivers licorice, ripe black cherry, clove and tobacco while firm, velvety tannins lend structure and finesse. Score: 93 (Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, May 1, 2016)

LORNANO GRAN SELEZIONE CHIANTI CLASSICO 2011
DOCG

491985 (XD) 750mL $46.00

TASTING NOTE: Attractive scents of ripe plum, blue flower, eucalyptus and baking spice spill out of the glass. The round, rich palate doles out juicy black cherry, crushed raspberry, licorice and a hint of chopped herb. Velvety tannins provided polished support. Drink through 2021. Score: 92 (Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, May 1, 2016)

PADELLETTI RISERVA BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2010
DOCG

382739 (D) 750mL $93.00

TASTING NOTE: Forest floor, dark-skinned berry, leather and tilled earth aromas unfold in the glass. The full-bodied, elegant palate offers mature black cherry, black raspberry, ground pepper, anise and chopped mint framed in ripe, tightly packed tannins. It's young and assertive, but also balanced, with real aging potential. Drink 2020-2035. Cellar Selection. Best of the year 2016. Score: 96 (Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, May 1, 2016)

UCCELLIERA RISERVA BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2008
DOCG

387837 (XD) 750mL $136.00

TASTING NOTE: What a decadent and complex nose this boasts of cherries but also fresh red meat, herbs and spices. This only gets more intense on the palate, where concentrated fruit is balanced by almost tangy acidity and chewy, wonderful tannins. The finish goes on for minutes. Superb now but better in 2017. A triumph for the vintage. Score: 95 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Nov. 10, 2014)

TENUTA SANT'ANTONIO CAMPO DEI GIGLI AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA 2011
DOCG

387886 (D) 750mL $89.00

TASTING NOTE: Graceful, intense and mature nose with cooked cherry, leafy and leathery hints. A big, imposing Amarone with an excellent texture and enthusiastic flavours of wild cherries and dark chocolate enhanced with a touch of fine sea salt. A glorious wine, finishing remarkably long and fresh, with precise bramble fruit. Score: 95 (Judges panel, Decanter World Wine Awards, 2016)

MONTE DA RAVASQUEIRA VINHA DAS ROMÃS 2013
Vinho Regional Alentejano

460790 (XD) 750mL $40.00

TASTING NOTE: Blending Syrah and Touriga Franca, this is the flagship wine from this property. New barrel aging adds a creamy toast character to a rich wine with its dusty tannins and dense texture. At the same time, the wine is very elegant, ripe with its black fruits. Still young, it will be ready from 2019. Cellar Selection. Score: 94 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Oct. 1, 2016)

QUINTA DA FALORCA LAGAR RESERVA 2011
DOC Dão

131573 (XD) 750mL $49.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2011 Reserva Quinta Da Falorca Lagar is a blend of Touriga Nacional (70%), Alfrocheiro (15%) and Tinta Roriz (15)%, aged for 18 months in new French oak. On opening, this didn't seem anywhere near as silky as the Touriga Nacional, also reviewed. On the second day, if anything, it was more so, very Burgundian and very graceful, but also more powerful, with a bit more astringency on the finish. There are expressive fruit flavors around the edges, but, as with the Touriga, this is unevolved and needs time despite its late release. It is potentially a big winner, but I liked the Touriga slightly better just now. That could easily change. Drink Date: 2017-2036. Score: 95 (Mark Squires, robertparker.com, June 29, 2016)

TERRA D' URO 2011
DO Toro

491878 (XD) 750mL $36.00

TASTING NOTE: Mineral and sanguine notes give this polished red a savory character, balancing its flavors of cherry, orange peel and toasty vanilla. Firm tannins and tangy acidity give the wine a spiky texture, but floral and spice accents linger on the finish. Best from 2017 through 2027. Score: 93 (Thomas Matthews, winespectator.com, Aug. 31, 2015)

VIÑA MAGNA RESERVA 2011
DO Ribera del Duero

491969 (XD) 750mL $69.00

TASTING NOTE: This powerful red delivers cassis, blackberry and garrigue flavors, framed by espresso, tar and mineral notes, well-integrated and supported by muscular tannins and balsamic acidity. Dense but lively, with floral and mineral accents on the long, expressive finish. Drink now through 2031. Score: 95 (Thomas Matthews, winespectator.com, July 31, 2016)

VIÑA TONDONIA RESERVA 2004
DOC Rioja

356337 (XD) 750mL $49.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2004 Viña Tondonia Reserva is a completely different story. It is a worthy follower of the 2001, the greatest of the Viña Tondonia Reservas of recent times. It has the usual blend and usual levels of alcohol and acidity, bottled after six years in oak barrels. The nose feels savory (if that's possible-umami?) and developed, with tertiary aromas and good balance between spices, leathery notes, cherries and balsamic notes of cigar box and incense. The palate is both round and crisp, with refined tannins. It has very good balance with subtle acidity and very good persistence. Drink Date: 2015-2024. Score: 94 (Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com, April 29, 2015)

THIRTY BENCH SMALL LOT WOOD POST RIESLING 2014
VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Escarpment

359760 (M) 750mL $30.20

Gold Medal winner at the 2016 WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada.

TASTING NOTE: Very pale with a lime tint; minerally, green apple and citrus nose, very Rheingau in style, lovely mouth-feel; a floral note, touch of honeyed sweetness in mid-palate but finishes dry on a lime note. Score: 91.5 (Tony Aspler, tonyaspler.com, June 13, 2016)

THIRTY BENCH STEEL POST VINEYARD SMALL LOT RIESLING 2014
VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Escarpment

319640 (D) 750mL $30.20

Gold Medal winner at the 2016 WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada.

TASTING NOTE: A top riesling deserving of this gold medal acknowledgment. A standout riesling offering terrific tension and explosive citrus flavours. Some petrol is creeping in on the palate and will surely continue to grow as the wine evolves. Substantial body but low alcohol. Great personality. Memorable finish. Score: 92 (Sara d'Amato, winealign.com, July 15, 2016)

GLAETZER ANAPERENNA SHIRAZ/CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2014
Barossa Valley, South Australia

72926 (XD) 750mL $65.00

TASTING NOTE: A blend of 76% Shiraz and 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep garnet-purple colored 2014 Shiraz Cabernet Anaperenna has a nose of crème de cassis, plum preserves, blackberry coulis and chocolate box with hints of cigar boxes and baking spices. Big, opulent and voluptuously fruited in the mouth, it has nice ripe, velvety tannins and just enough acid to frame the generous fruit, finishing with great length and plenty of freshness. Drink Date: 2016-2023. Score: 92 (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, June 29, 2016)

KAY BROTHERS AMERY VINEYARD BLOCK 6 SHIRAZ 2013
McLaren Vale, South Australia

598870 (XD) 750mL $93.00

TASTING NOTE: From 121yo estate vines, open-fermented, 15 days cold soak with 17 days further skin contact, matured for 19 months in French oak (33% new). An extremely complex wine, juicy fruits of every colour and description engaged in an Indian arm wrestle with briary/spicy/savoury tannins, French oak the timekeeper, not engaged in the wrestle. Australia is lucky to have wines such as this. Drink By: 2038. Score: 96 (James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au, Oct. 6, 2016)

LA PLEIADE SHIRAZ 2012
Heathcote, Victoria

95570 (XD) 750mL $91.00

TASTING NOTE: The clear, full crimson-purple colour has that intangible quality that promises much, the expectations more than fulfilled on the bouquet and palate. This is a beautifully wrought (I would used 'crafted' but that is nauseously overused in marketing blah) medium-bodied wine, effortlessly uncoiling its array of red fruits through the length of the palate, an exercise in restrained elegance. Drink By: 2035. Date Tasted: Feb. 17, 2015. Score: 97 (James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au, Aug. 2, 2016)

PENFOLDS GRANGE SHIRAZ 2012
South Australia

468827 (XD) 750mL $860.00

TASTING NOTE: Powerful and impressive, this seamless expression offers chai tea, sandalwood, dark chocolate, gingerbread and tobacco notes that complement the juicy black cherry fruit flavors at the core. Gains momentum on the finish. Intense but polished, revealing an air of weightlessness that lingers. Drink now through 2035. Score: 97 (MaryAnn Worobiec, winespectator.com, Feb. 28, 2017)

GRASSHOPPER ROCK PINOT NOIR 2014
Central Otago, South Island

493163 (XD) 750mL $44.00

TASTING NOTE: Delicately scented pinot noir with appealing cherry, spice and mineral flavours. Light to medium-bodied but not lacking in power, as evidenced by the wine's lengthy finish. Quite Burgundian in style but with a strong Alexandra signature. Class wine at a competitive price. Drink 2016-2024. Score: 95 (Bob Campbell, MW, bobcampbell.nz, Dec. 5, 2016)

TRAPICHE CRISTINA Y BIBIANA COLETTO MALBEC 2012
El Peral, Tupungato, Mendoza

59634 (XD) 750mL $40.00

TASTING NOTE: Beautiful scents of dark fruits and violets. The fruit is incredible, pure, intense, elegant, concentrated and underpinned by a vibrant freshness. Firm tannins and amazing savoury, spicy tones of sandal wood and cinnamon are mixed with the fruit, bringing more complexity. This is an exceptional bottle of wine, which will fully develop with some cellar ageing. Score: 96 (Judges panel, Decanter World Wine Awards, 2016)

SEÑA 2014
Aconcagua Valley

520551 (D) 750mL $212.00

TASTING NOTE: Complex aromas of blueberry, rose petal, licorice, and currant. Full body, ultra fine tannins and a fresh and clean finish. Balanced and very refined. A wonderful purity and beauty. Give it three to four years to come together but already a beauty. A blend of 60% cabernet sauvignon, 16% carmenere, 11% malbec, 8% merlot and 5% petit verdot. Score: 97 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, May 12, 2016)

HUNDRED ACRE KAYLI MORGAN VINEYARD CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2013
Napa Valley

131094 (XD) 750mL $800.00

TASTING NOTE: The perfect 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Kayli Morgan spent 32 months in French oak prior to being bottled unfiltered. Like all of the Woodbridge wines, it can be noted for its inky/bluish purple color, extraordinary fragrance of white flowers, crème de cassis, blackberry and graphite. Totally opulent, I always thought the wine tasted more like the great Pomerols, which are made mostly from Merlot, versus Woodbridge's 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. But this vineyard has a lot of clay in it that seems to provide a silkiness to the tannins. This is a beautifully balanced, full-throttle and highly extracted wine with no hard edges and a finish of a good 45-50 seconds. The fruit character is still vibrant and intense, despite the 32 months of oak age. Drink it over the next 30 years. Score: 100 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Oct. 28, 2016)

OJAI BIEN NACIDO VINEYARD PINOT NOIR 2013
Santa Maria Valley, Central Coast

498832 (XD) 750mL $78.00

TASTING NOTE: More classic in style than the Clone 22, the 2013 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard has lots of black raspberry, flowers and crushed-rock nuances as well as a full, layered, beautifully textured feel on the palate. I normally find something masculine and mineral-laced from this vineyard, but this 2013 is all polish and elegance, with rocking purity of fruit. I'd drink it over the coming 4-5 years, but I suspect it will still be delicious at age 10 as well. Drink Date: 2015-2020. Score: 93 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Aug. 27, 2015)

ROCCA TESORINA 2013
Napa Valley

490797 (XD) 750mL $257.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Proprietary Red Tesorina is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and meant to be one of their flagship offerings of this varietal. The color is opaque purple and the wine shows gorgeous blueberry and blackberry fruit, sweet tannin and low acidity, but a freshness and vibrancy in keeping with this vintage. This is another epic example of how consistent the Bordeaux varietals are in Napa in 2013. This stunner is full-bodied, pure, rich, complex and one of the best wines I've ever tasted from Rocca. Drink it over the next 20-25 years. Drink Date: 2015-2040. Score: 95 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2015)

DOMAINE SERENE EVENSTAD RESERVE PINOT NOIR 2013
Willamette Valley

66753 (XD) 750mL $122.00

TASTING NOTE: Peppery herbal notes populate the nose, leading into flavors of brambly red fruits. The wine gathers strength on the midpalate, finishing with a flourish of strawberry preserves. There's a touch of rhubarb pie and a dusting of cocoa in the mix as well, and for an Oregon Pinot Noir made in such quantities (more than 10,000 cases) it offers exceptional depth and density. Score: 92 (Paul Gregutt, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 1, 2016)

BOEDECKER STOLLER VINEYARD PINOT NOIR 2012
Dundee Hills, Willamette Valley

493874 (XD) 750mL $82.00

TASTING NOTE: Broad and expressive, this is a fleshy but not heavy style, brimming with blueberry, plum, peach and spice flavors that mingle effortlessly against nubby tannins on the long finish. Drink now through 2022. Score: 93 (Harvey Steiman, winespectator.com, Sept. 30, 2015)

LEONETTI WALLA WALLA CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2013
Walla Walla Valley

403089 (XD) 750mL $194.00

TASTING NOTE: Leading off the 2013s, the 2013 Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignon comes all from estate vineyard and is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot and 7% Malbec, all of which spent 22 months in new and once used French oak. It's vibrant purple color is followed by classic notes of crème de cassis, violets, tobacco leaf, lead pencil shavings and graphite. This full-bodied, ripe, yet still elegant Cabernet (which checks in at 14.7% alcohol) has terrific purity, ripe, polished tannin and a great finish. It has the purity and finesse to drink beautifully today, but it will have 20-25 years of overall longevity. Drink Date: 2016-2041. Score: 96 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, June 29, 2016)

FIGGINS ESTATE RED 2012
Walla Walla Valley

446161 (XD) 750mL $174.00

TASTING NOTE: The Figgins 2012 Estate Red Wine is flat-out knockout stuff. Layered, gorgeously concentrated, full-bodied, and balanced, this Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated blend gives up sensational notes of cassis, black raspberry toasted bread and sweet spice on the nose. Ultra-pure, elegant and silky, it has the texture to drink nicely today, yet will age effortlessly for two decades or more. Coming from the higher elevation, eastern edge of Walla Walla (1500-1750 feet above sea level), it spent 22 months in 70% new French oak and 30% in once used barrels. This is one of the top Cabernets coming out of Washington and readers should not miss it. Drink Date: 2015-2035. Score: 96+ (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, June 28, 2015)

TAYLOR FLADGATE SINGLE HARVEST PORT 1967
DOC

488692 (S) 750mL $300.00

TASTING NOTE: This draws you in, with aromas of warm halva and toasted pistachio giving way to a wide range of buckwheat, toasted sesame, walnut husk, menthol and licorice root notes that refuse to break down in the mouth. Exhibits remarkable length, with ample viscosity matched by steely tension, putting this in rarified air. Drink now. Score: 98 (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, Feb. 28, 2017)

TORO ALBALÁ DON PX GRAN RESERVA 1987
DO Montilla-Moriles

492678 (S) 750mL $59.00

TASTING NOTE: Each year they select a number of single vintage, sweet PX wines to be bottled, the first of which (besides the young wine) is the 1987 Don Px Gran Reserva in 2016 - a wine aged in American oak casks for some 28 years. These wines are almost indestructible, so the drinking windows are mostly academic. This showcases the classical aromas and palate of an old PX from Montilla, strong notes of dark chocolate, dried figs and plums, raisins and sweet spices; the dense, thick and persistent palate where the 380 grams of unfermented sugar are not noticeable, as they are balanced by good acidity that also gets concentrated by age. This is probably the densest of all the wines I tasted today, and there is a distinct, perfumed, almost floral note here (is it violet pastille?), which makes it extremely attractive. It's also the most drinkable of all these old vintages, very balanced within its sweet profile, with marked flavors (also licorice and black olives) that stay in your mouth for one minute. Exotic and exuberant. This is incredibly young and lively, and very good value for the age and quality it delivers. Score: 94 (Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com, April 27, 2016)

ALVEAR SOLERA 1927 PEDRO XIMÉNEZ
DO Montilla-Moriles

463034 (S) 375mL $20.00

TASTING NOTE: The NV Pedro Ximenez Solera 1927 is non-vintage, but does have some 1927 material in it. This is totally dark browSmber with notes of figs, toffee, caramel syrup, molasses and coffee. It is dense, super sweet, intense, rich and an amazingly, unctuously textured, thick beverage to consume slowly and introspectively after a meal. Drink now through 2050, or even longer. Drink Date: 2016-2050. Score: 98 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Nov. 29, 2015)
