7 VINTAGES

THE CLASSICS COLLECTION

NOVEMBER 2017

DOMAINE FAIVELEY CLOS

DES CORTONS FAIVELEY CORTON

GRAND CRU 2011

AC

TASTING NOTE: Medium red. Ineffable

nose and palate offer red fruits, minerals,

spices and flowers, complicated by

game, earth and leather. Sweet,

concentrated and very intense, boasting

outstanding density and a fine-grained

texture, with salty minerality giving

the wine a weightless impression that’s

remarkable considering its density.

A strong tannic spine and brisk acidity

energize and draw out the finish of this

sharply delineated, pristine grand cru.

LOUIS JADOT BEAUNE

BOUCHEROTTES 1

ER

CRU 2010

AC

TASTING NOTE: A toasty nose with

plenty of menthol influence also

evidences ripe red currant and plum

aromas that are liberally sprinkled

with warm earth notes. There is a

seductive mouth feel to the rich, supple

and quite round medium-bodied flavors

that are relatively forward though the

finale is dusty, firm and very Beaune.

This is a classic Boucherottes that

combines an agreeably accessible

mid-palate with good aging potential.

Outstanding. Drink: 2018+. Score:

90-92

WHITE WINE

JOSEPH DROUHIN PULIGNY-

MONTRACHET LES FOLATIÈRES

ER

CRU 2015

AC

TASTING NOTE: A soupçon of wood

surrounds the ripe acacia blossom,

lemon rind and slightly exotic white fruit

aromas. Once again there is fine richness

to the concentrated medium-bodied

flavors that possess impeccable balance

and excellent length on the mouth

coating, lemony and moderately dry finish.

This generous effort should both drink

reasonably well young yet reward 5 to

8 years of cellaring too. Drink: 2021+.

Outstanding. Score:

VINCENT GIRARDIN MEURSAULT

LES TILLETS 2015

AC

Famous for its rich and textured

Chardonnay, Meursault produces

wines that are typically floral with

plenty of apple and pear, and can

also contain nutty tones. The region

has no grand cru growing sites, but

its many fine lieu-dit sites, such

as Les Tillets, have helped forge its

reputation as the unquestioned home

of the most luxuriant and opulent

white Burgundy wines.

516708 (XD) 750 mL $89.00

CHANSON PÈRE & FILS

CHASSAGNE-MONTRACHET 2014

AC

TASTING NOTE: Here the deftly oaked

nose is comprised primarily of white

orchard fruit though there are some

background notes of petrol and rosemary

resin. There is exceptionally good

richness and volume to the sappy medium

weight flavors that possess a very dry

and lengthy lemon-infused finish that

offers very fine power for a villages

level wine. This isn’t nearly as stylish as

the Puligny but based on the quality

it’s also worth checking out plus

it will age if desired. Drink 2021+.

Outstanding. Score:

LOUIS LATOUR

CORTON-CHARLEMAGNE

GRAND CRU 2014

AC

TASTING NOTE: A broad, charming

white, featuring lemon, baked apple,

vanilla, clove and nutmeg flavors, with

fine concentration and length. Shows

a bright structure and chalky intensity on

the slightly tannic finish. Best from 2019

through 2032. Highly Recommended.
