DELORD 25-YEAR-OLD BAS ARMAGNAC
AC, France

280974 750mL $116.00

Family-owned and -run, Delord was founded in 1893 by the aptly named Prosper Delord. Prosper was a travelling distiller, carting his portable pot still from farm to farm and producing Armagnac on-site. Today, Delord produces Armagnac from small antique Sier alembic stills that produce roughly 30 L of Bas Armagnac each hour. The Delord 25-year-old incorporates suggestions of leather, toffee, caramel, vanilla and nuts during its time in barrel. This will be an elegant, complex expression of this classic style.

HENNESSY PARADIS EXTRA RARE COGNAC
AC, France

208298 750mL $1,594.00

TASTING NOTE: Golden amber coloured Paradis was created in 1979 by Maurice Fillioux when Hennessy was asked for an "ultra-prestige" cognac higher in quality than XO. Everything is there but no one note dominates. Complex with a silky attack, it has length and persistence. Made from 100 different batches, the youngest 25 years old and the eldest from the beginning of the last century (1900, 1910, 1920), it's 85% to 90% from Grande Champagne. It has a timeless, distinguished elegance and a personality that grows as you swallow and comes back wave after wave. Savour in a snifter - no water, no ice, just bliss. Score: 98 (Margaret Swaine, winealign.com, Feb. 23, 2015)

HENNESSY PARADIS IMPÉRIAL COGNAC
AC, France

437962 750mL $3,774.00

TASTING NOTE: A blend created by Yann Fillioux of 35 to 130 year old cognacs matured in seasoned old barrels, only one out of 1000 is good enough to get in these bottles. Refined, balanced and elegant, this is ultra-sophisticated. Golden amber with flowery notes of jasmine and orange blossom there is virtually no wood on the palate, rather hints of spice and florals in a delicate yet persistent style. A beautiful, delicate, contemporary cognac with ultimate style. Score: 99 (Margaret Swaine, winealign.com, Feb. 23, 2015)

CHÂTEAU COS LABORY 2010
Grand Cru Classé en 1855, AC Saint-Estèphe

322958 (XD) 750mL $88.00

TASTING NOTE: Wonderful improvement here, with blackberry and chocolate character, full, round and soft. Very well done indeed. Score: 92-93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, April 19, 2011)

CHÂTEAU LA DOMINIQUE 2010
AC Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

921221 (XD) 750mL $144.00

TASTING NOTE: Delivers a gorgeous note of crème de cassis, followed by dark plum, anise, blackberry coulis and blueberry reduction notes. A glorious display of fruit, with well-embedded charcoal and graphite accents that help the finish drive on with authority. Should age wonderfully. A very strong showing for this estate. Best from 2016 through 2030. Score: 94 (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, March 31, 2013)

CHÂTEAU PAVIE-DECESSE 2010
AC Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

553727 (XD) 750mL $420.00

TASTING NOTE: A Blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, with 14.5% natural alcohol, the higher percentage of Merlot in this wine than in the Pavie gives it a stunning opulence, thickness and luxuriousness. Opaque purple, with notes of mulberry and kirsch liqueur leaning toward blacker fruits, subtle smoked meats and some lead pencil and vanillin, this is another brawny, full-bodied, yet remarkably precise and fresh style of wine despite its sensational extract and power. Give it 5-6 years of cellaring and drink it over the following 30-40 years. Drink Date: 2018-2058. Score: 96 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Feb. 27, 2013)

CHÂTEAU VRAI CANON BOUCHE 2010
AC Canon Fronsac

593277 (XD) 750mL $66.00

TASTING NOTE: Yields were absurdly low at 20 hectoliters per hectare, and the final blend of 95% Merlot and the rest small dosages of Cabernet Franc and Malbec came in at 14.5% natural alcohol. Opaque blue/purple, the unmistakable notes of wet rock, blueberry liqueur, spring flower garden, crushed chalk and earth are all present in this full-bodied, seriously endowed, over-achieving Fronsac. It is built for the long haul, so consumers would be well-advised to forget it for several years and drink it over the following 10-15, possibly even 20. Stephane Derenoncourt is the consultant for this wine, which has really come on over the last half dozen years and is now routinely one of the great wines of this somewhat under-the-radar appellation. Score: 92 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Feb. 27, 2013)

CHÂTEAU HAUT-BERGERON 2015
AC Sauternes

548156 (S) 375mL $34.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Haut Bergeron has a well-defined, quite linear and correct bouquet with subtle honey and acacia scents. The palate is well balanced, smooth in the mouth with white chocolate tincturing the honeyed fruit. I appreciate the acidity of this Sauternes - more understated than its peers, but sophisticated and well crafted. Bravo! Score: 91-93 (Neal Martin, robertparker.com, April 27, 2016)

ANDRÉ GOICHOT & FILS PERNAND-VERGELESSES 2015
AC

559732 (XD) 750mL $39.00

The wines of Pernand-Vergelesses are charming reflections of the picturesque area in which they are produced. Located behind the famous hill of Corton, the vines are planted at altitudes ranging between 250 and 300 metres. The region produces both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with the Chardonnay being situated in marly soils at the top of the slopes, while the Pinot Noir is planted in the pebbly limestone found mid-slope. When young, Pernand-Vergelesses Pinots tend to be quite floral with flavours of strawberry and raspberry, with forest floor and spice tones emerging as they age. These wines offer exceptional value.

BOUCHARD PÈRE & FILS ALOXE-CORTON 2015
AC

972240 (XD) 750mL $60.00

Winemaking in the Aloxe-Corton area dates back over 2,000 years, and one of the region's early fans was the emperor Charlemagne. The soils of Aloxe-Corton are limestone and clay on a marl subsoil, and the Pinot Noir tends to be intensely flavoured, with lifted berry fruit and firm structure. These are wines that deftly traverse the potential divide between structure and elegance.

DOMAINE DE BELLENE CUVÉE DU CINQUANTENAIRE VIEILLES VIGNES BEAUNE 1ER CRU 2014
AC

540625 (XD) 750mL $89.00

TASTING NOTE: This blend from five Beaune Premier Crus was made to celebrate the Potel family's 50 years in wine. It is a richly structured, beautiful wine with its dark tannins and black fruit showing so well. Concentrated from the low yielding old vines, the wine is packed with fruits and acidity that are developing slowly. Drink from 2020. Cellar Selection. Score: 94 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 31, 2016)

LOUIS JADOT CHAMBOLLE MUSIGNY LES FUÉES 1ER CRU 2014
AC

47878 (XD) 750mL $152.00

TASTING NOTE: While not imperceptible the wood treatment remains in the background on the spicy plum, violet, cherry and discreetly earthy nose. There is terrific delineation and minerality present on the elegant and gorgeously pure middle weight flavors that exhibit brilliant focus and controlled power on the superbly persistent finish. This is a picture perfect Fuées that is built to reward extended cellaring. Highly recommended. Drink: 2026+. Sweet spot. Outstanding. Score: 91-94 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, April 15, 2016)

LOUIS JADOT VOSNE-ROMANÉE LES SUCHOTS 1ER CRU 2014
AC

444885 (XD) 750mL $185.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2014 Vosne Romanée 1er Cru les Suchots has a tightly wound bouquet with light mineral tones that become more accentuated with time. I would like to see more roundness come through. The palate is ripe on the entry and here there is more Suchots character with lovely raspberry and crushed strawberry fruit, orange zest and mandarin. The focus and delineation on the finish is very impressive and it lingers tenderly in the mouth. There is classy winemaking here. Drink Date: 2018-2035. Score: 92-94 (Neal Martin, robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2015)

BOUCHARD PÈRE & FILS SAINT-AUBIN 1ER CRU 2015
AC

545152 (XD) 750mL $50.00

Bouchard Père & Fils has been part of the Burgundy landscape since 1731. Its continued success and significance is a testament to its ability to navigate the variegated tides of modernity without sacrificing the history and traditions that made it great. Though Saint-Aubin was once best known for its red wines, it is now dominated by Chardonnay. These wines are typically impressively fresh, energetic and vibrant, and the best of them offer touches of the character that defines the wines of nearby Puligny-Montrachet.

DOMAINE LOUIS JADOT DUC DE MAGENTA PULIGNY-MONTRACHET CLOS DE LA GARENNE 1ER CRU 2015
AC

124891 (XD) 750mL $130.00

TASTING NOTE: Bright lemon-yellow. Nose dominated by smoke, soil and rocks, with white stone fruit and citrus zest in the background. Fat, rich and sweet; a lovely mouthfilling wine with a plush texture and serious depth to its peach and mineral flavors. The very old (80 years) vines give the middle palate a creamy, glyceral quality but there's enough ripe acidity and supporting minerality here to support the wine's considerable baby fat. Drinking Window: 2019-2027. Score: 92 (Stephen Tanzer, vinous.com, Sept. 2017)

DOMAINE VILLAINE BOUZERON 2015
AC

545632 (XD) 750mL $39.00

Aligoté has been grown in Burgundy for hundreds of years, but it has been overshadowed by the profound accomplishments of Chardonnay. The majority of Aligoté is now planted in lesser sites that do not allow the grape to fully demonstrate its potential. The great exception to this is Bouzeron, where the grape truly shines, creating aromatic, vibrant, fruity wines of refinement and finesse.

JEAN-CLAUDE BOISSET BEAUNE LES VIGNES FRANCHES 1ER CRU 2015
AC

540633 (XD) 750mL $69.00

TASTING NOTE: A big nose, wide and fresh. A little gas, but fresh, very mineral, but with an accommodating sweetness of melting flavour. This will test you blind, a little oak in the finishing flavours, but this has outstanding persistence and again possibly a hint of tannin in the finish. Score: 92 (Tim Atkin, MW, burgundy-report.com, Dec. 20, 2016)

DOMAINE JEAN ET SÉBASTIEN DAUVISSAT SECHETS CHABLIS 1ER CRU 2014
AC

560078 (XD) 750mL $48.00

TASTING NOTE: The more expressive nose displays plenty of citrus and Chablis-like elements that include mineral reduction and oyster shell nuances. The succulent yet vibrant middle weight flavors are underpinned by racy acidity on the lingering and notably dry but not really austere finale. Drink: 2019+. Outstanding. Score: 91 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, Oct. 8, 2016)

MARCHAND-TAWSE MEURSAULT BLAGNY 1ER CRU 2013

448720 (XD) 750mL $105.00

TASTING NOTE: Pale, bright yellow. Pear, apple, flowers and fresh herbs on the nose, plus a hint of anise. Round and lightly salty on the palate, offering moderately concentrated stone fruit and floral flavors. Finishes with a slightly tart quality. Drinking window: 2017-2021. PASCAL BOUCHARD VAUDÉSIR CHABLIS GRAND CRU 2012
AC

540492 (XD) 750mL $92.00

TASTING NOTE: This firm and steely wine expresses power and minerality. Wood-aging toastiness and a taste of honey give a sweeter side to the crisp, tight texture. This powerful, dense wine will age for many years. Drink from 2019. Score: 94 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 1, 2014)

CHÂTEAU DE BEAUCASTEL CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE 2015
AC

968750 (XD) 375mL $48.00

TASTING NOTE: A stunner from the get-go, with waves of thoroughly seductive boysenberry, plum, blueberry and raspberry reduction forming the core, while roasted apple wood, rooibos tea, bergamot, and anise notes flash throughout. This has plenty of bass, with a Turkish coffee accent and a hint of alder driving underneath. Everything moves in lockstep through the seriously long finish. Best from 2020 through 2045. Collectibles. Score: 97 (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, Feb. 28, 2018)

DOMAINE COURBIS LES EYGATS CORNAS 2015
AC

719385 (XD) 750mL $83.00

TASTING NOTE: Even inkier-colored than the Sabarotte, the 2015 Cornas les Eygats is another single vineyard release that comes from a site located on the northern edge of the appellation. Aged in 50% new French oak (the balance is in once-used barrels), it offers sensational notes of plums, blueberries, crushed violets, pen ink and barbecue smoke in an utterly profound, decadent, layered, heavenly profile. There's ample tannin here, but they're sweet and polished, and it has an awesome finish. Don't miss it! Score: 95-97 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2016)

DOMAINE DE LA CHARBONNIÈRE CUVÉE MOURRE DES PERDRIX CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE 2012
AC

401901 (XD) 750mL $70.00

TASTING NOTE: As always, the 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape Mourre des Perdrix (70% Grenache, 14% Syrah, 14% Mourvedre and the balance assorted varieties) is the most elegant and seamless of the three special cuvees. Notes of raspberries, black cherries, flowers and spice all show in this medium-bodied, silky, ultra-fine Chateauneuf du Pape that can be enjoyed anytime over the coming decade. CHÂTEAU LA NERTHE CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE BLANC 2016
AC

704429 (XD) 750mL $57.00

Château La Nerthe has a notably modern style to their wines, yet they manage to maintain a refined sense of provenance that imparts the wines with a classic familiarity. This is a blend of 52% Grenache Blanc, 35% Roussanne and 13% Clairette and is typically crafted to offer a sharp, focused, taut, linear impression. You can expect to encounter deftly articulated white flower tones atop lemon, melon, spice and smoke, with a mineral-accented finish.

CUILLERON LES CHAILLETS CONDRIEU 2016
AC

559757 (XD) 750mL $102.00

Richard Hemming, MW, suggested a drinking window for this wine of 2017-2021. (jancisrobinson.com, Nov. 30, 2017)

TASTING NOTE: Complex mealy aromas are laced into ripe white peach and fresh gingery spices. There's a very vibrant and fresh feel to the concentrated white peach-flavored palate. This has elegance as well as plenty of flesh and length. Drink now. Score: 95 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Sept. 7, 2017)

DIRLER-CADÉ KESSLER GRAND CRU GEWURZTRAMINER 2013
AC

544999 (MS) 750mL $53.00

TASTING NOTE: Bright and with spicy flavors and aromas of rather white than yellow fruits, lychees and cloves on the nose opens the 2013 Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Kessler. Rich and piquant on the pure, densely woven and firmly structured palate this semi-sweet 13.2% alcohol Gewurz balances its 50 grams of residual sweetness very well and develops an incisive mineral and salty finish. "With 4 or 5 months the wine fermented quite long for Gewurztraminer," says Jean Dirler adding that there was almost no noble rot in the vineyard (in contrast to 2014). However, the 2013 ended up as a great wine personality. Drink Date: 2015-2026. Score: 93 (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, Sept. 29, 2015)

POL ROGER BRUT ROSÉ CHAMPAGNE 2008
AC

411819 (XD) 750mL $110.00

TASTING NOTE: Flavors of strawberries and cream, singed orange peel and macaroon are layered on the finely meshed frame of this rich rosé Champagne, kept lithe and focused by bright acidity. Long and minerally on the elegant finish. Drink now through 2028. Score: 93 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, Nov. 30, 2016)

Jancis Robinson, MW, called this "... Very intense with a fresh mint note. Round and magnificent ..." and suggested a drinking window extending from 2016 through 2030. (jancisrobinson.com, Sept. 14, 2017)

TASTING NOTE: Some reductive meaty notes of bacon fat and flint, with lemon cream and butter too, as well as a light forest berry edge and toasted hazelnuts. The palate has attractive lemon citrus cream flavor. Super pure, there's power amongst the charm. This is a great '06. Drink now. Score: 95 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Oct. 4, 2017)

HBH 1ER CRU BRUT CHAMPAGNE 1997
AC

340141 (D) 750mL $68.00

TASTING NOTE: This is fully mature, wonderfully taut and mineral driven Champagne. The aromas are toasty and slightly rancio/walnutty with sautéed onion, wet bark, crème brulée and dried apple/peach fruit. It's light bodied with scintillating acidity and drive that delivers flavour by the bucket. The length and focus are outstanding. Great value versus other mature, bigger name Champagnes. ALPHONSE MELLOT GÉNÉRATION XIX SANCERRE BLANC 2014

544973 (XD) 750mL $92.00

TASTING NOTE: From almost 100-year-old vines on kimmeridgian marl and limestone soils, Mellot's 2014 Sancerre Generation Dix-Neuf displays a deep, clear, intense, spicy and terroir-driven bouquet of perfectly ripe fruits, green leafs, fresh pepper, green chili and minerals. Very flinty and pure on the nose but also concentrated and very promising. Full-bodied, intense and racy, this is a very pure and dense, firmly structured and expressive wine with great elegance and a lot of grip and tension. CHÂTEAU ROMASSAN DOMAINES OTT BANDOL 2014
AC

558007 (XD) 750mL $55.00

Bandol is one of the oldest wine-producing areas in Provence. The majority of the vines in Bandol are planted in terraces arranged across what is essentially a natural amphitheatre that faces the sea. The low man-made walls of the terraces are made of a type of river stone called restanques. The limestone, sandy maris and sandstone soils are best known for producing rosé, which makes up more than 60% of the wines here; red wine makes up around 30% of total production. All grapes must be hand-harvested. Red wines must contain between 50 and 95% Mourvèdre and must be aged for a minimum of 18 months. This one is 90% Mourvèdre with the remainder made up of Grenache. You will encounter impressive black fruit and pepper spice alongside Provence's distinctive herbal tones.

SCHLOSS GOBELSBURG RIED HEILIGENSTEIN RIESLING 2015
DAC Kamptal

540013 (XD) 750mL $45.00

TASTING NOTE: The nose is still closed but already whispers of fragrant citrus show. The palate strikingly combines a core of ultraripe fruit - think juicy mandarin, golden peach and gorgeously aromatic blood orange - and a masterful lightness of touch. The freshness is chiselled and precise, the finish is lasting and impressive, but never losing its unforced gentle nature and the lightest touch. Score: 95 (Anne Krebiehl, MW, Wine Enthusiast, March 1, 2017)

EGON MÜLLER-SCHARZHOF SCHARZHOF RIESLING 2016
Qualitätswein

468934 (M) 750mL $59.00

TASTING NOTE: Super-fresh, wild herbal and berry nose. Very pure and racy with a lot of drive. Tastes drier and lighter than the 2015, but this is another classic example of the house style. Drink any time during the next five years. Score: 91 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, June 7, 2017)

EGON MÜLLER-SCHARZHOF SCHARZHOFBERGER RIESLING KABINETT 2016
Prädikatswein

430975 (MS) 750mL $113.00

TASTING NOTE: This is very clean and pure with an intense herbal-mineral quality that's beautifully complemented by the apple and berry notes. The finish has an Alpine meadow freshness that no other kabinett from this vintage I've tasted has, and that's the most exciting thing about it. Score: 93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, June 7, 2017)

EGON MÜLLER-SCHARZHOF SCHARZHOFBERGER RIESLING SPÄTLESE 2016

116269 (MS) 750mL $223.00

TASTING NOTE: Lovely, orange blossom and bergamot/Earl Grey tea nose that's unique. A super-elegant wine that underplays its power and concentration. That makes the finish very delicate and deceptively light. A masterpiece of subtlety that you could drink now or any time during the next 30 years. Score: 95 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, June 7, 2017)

SAN LEONARDO 2004
IGT Vigneti delle Dolomiti

552521 (XD) 750mL $200.00

The 2004 San Leonardo was awarded 3 Glasses in the 2017 Gambero Rosso.

TASTING NOTE: It's impossible not to fall in love with the 2004 San Leonardo. This may well be the greatest wine made by the estate (equal to the delightful 1990) thanks to the infinite, ever-shifting complexity on display. It's hard to know where to start: Bright fruit aromas segue to spice and leather and then segue to cola and balsam herb. Blue flower and button mushroom also make brief, but meaningful appearances. This iconic vintage started with a wet spring and moved forward to a dry, warm harvest period. Give the wine another ten years to find its footing. If you serve it in the near term, allow three hours for decanting. Drink Date: 2015-2035. Score: 97 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, Dec. 29, 2014)

SAN LEONARDO 2001
IGT Vigneti delle Dolomiti

560086 (XD) 750mL $209.00

This wine was awarded 3 Glasses in the 2017 Gambero Rosso.

TASTING NOTE: The lovely 2001 San Leonardo is a wine in its adolescence phase. Its pedigree is cemented, but its future is still open to chance. This was an excellent vintage that saw pre-harvest rains and warm, dry weather once the fruit had reached optimal ripeness. With this vintage, you begin to get some of the younger aromas that distinguish this great red wine from the far north of Italy. Red cherry and blackberry are followed by chocolate, spice and moist leather. The wine is more immediate, modern and "international" with soft tannins and thick extraction. It opens with a bang and follows through to the end of the palate with the same generous intensity. I'd suggest parking this wine in your cellar for up to ten years or more. Drink Date: 2015-2035. Score: 95 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, Dec. 29, 2014)

MARCO FELLUGA COLLIO MONGRIS RESERVA PINOT GRIGIO 2015

549543 (XD) 750mL $45.00

TASTING NOTE: Wow. Such a complex and refined nose of spicy green apples, flint, chalk, lime cordial and even nectarines as well as plenty of pastry character. Medium to full body, a long line of acidity, so many mineral undertones and a dense yet driven finish. Delicious. Drink now. Score: 93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Oct. 20, 2017)

BASTIANICH PLUS 2013
IGT Venezia-Giulia

553230 (XD) 750mL $60.00

TASTING NOTE: This is insane. It's like putting cloves, white pepper and blanched almonds all in your mouth at the same time. Crazy. Full body, ripe fruit and a long and flavorful finish. Fantastic and electric. 100% friulano with 10% of this dried fruit. Best ever from here. Drink now. Score: 95 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Nov. 21, 2016)

GIOVANNI MANZONE BRICAT BAROLO 2012

GIOVANNI MANZONE CASTELLETTO BAROLO 2012
DOCG

539239 (XD) 750mL $69.00

TASTING NOTE: A tightly wound, austere style, featuring cherry, camphor and tar flavors. Aggressive tannins are the prominent feature now, but sweet fruit lurks in the background, awaiting a star turn. Best from 2020 through 2035. Score: 93 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, Feb. 28, 2017)

This was awarded 3 Glasses in the 2017 Gambero Rosso.

TASTING NOTE: Wow. This is very powerful 2010 Barolo with a great depth of fruit and powerful tannins. Full and super-structured Barolo. Goes on for minutes. Great wine from a popular vintage. Better in 2020. Score: 97 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Jan. 4, 2017)

CUSUMANO SÀGANA NERO D'AVOLA 2014
DOC Sicilia

109538 (XD) 750mL $32.00

TASTING NOTE: This elegant and savory Nero d'Avola offers cassis, blue flower and baking spice aromas. It's a full-bodied expression of the grape, boasting ripe black cherry, blackberry and black pepper hints alongside fine-grained tannins. Drink through 2021. Score: 90 (Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, Oct. 1, 2017)

MARCHESI ANTINORI SOLAIA 2014
IGT Toscana

487330 (XD) 1500mL $600.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2014 Solaia will be released during the second half of 2017. This is a fine-tuned expression that shows a focused sense of detail and careful attention. The quota of Cabernet Franc has been upped by a hair and this makes a big difference, especially in terms of the wine's bouquet. Otherwise, this celebrated Tuscan blend is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with Sangiovese. It opens to dark fruit aromas with crushed mineral, pipe tobacco, pressed flower and toasted spice. Its appearance is midnight black and profound. The wine delivers a sense of sheer excitement and nervousness that will subside with another few years of bottle age. Nonetheless, I think a certain amount of that bright edginess or rigidness will always be part of this cool vintage Solaia. In the mouth, the wine is firm, compact and dense. The tannins are chiseled to the point of sublime integration. Marchesi Antinori made 40% less Solaia in this vintage in order to maintain the quality you taste here. Drink Date: 2019-2035. Score: 95 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, April 28, 2017)

CASTELLO FONTERUTOLI GRAN SELEZIONE CHIANTI CLASSICO 2013
DOCG

244905 (XD) 750mL $60.00

Awarded 95 points and a Platinum Medal for Best Red Chianti at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2017.

TASTING NOTE: An essence of sweet cherry grounds the surrounding flavors of leather, iron, spice and tobacco in this firm red, which remains vibrant and refined. Bracing acidity and dense, muscular tannins play out on the long finish. Drink now through 2028. Highly Recommended. Score: 95 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, Sept. 30, 2017)

MARCHESI DE' FRESCOBALDI MORMORETO 2013
IGT Toscana

951210 (XD) 750mL $65.00

TASTING NOTE: This wine follows its own distinct philosophy that marries it into the school of super Tuscan wines, and not the Chianti Rufina appellation where it is born. The 2013 Mormoreto is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot that seems intent on escaping from its small town roots. It shows much bigger aspirations. This is a thick and succulent red wine with dark plum, blackberry, chocolate and exotic spice. The mouthfeel is lasting and powerful. Drink Date: 2017-2026. CAFAGGIO BASILICA SAN MARTINO RISERVA CHIANTI CLASSICO 2012
DOCG

556431 (XD) 750mL $49.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2012 Chianti Classico Riserva Basilica San Martino is an impressive wine. It shows an elegant and streamlined style with classic cherry fruit and dark mineral shadings at the back. That sweet note that is so prominent in the Chianti Classico Riserva and the Chianti Classico Riserva Basilica Solatìo is not as obvious here. This wine is composed of 85% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. Drink Date: 2017-2027. Score: 92 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2016)

CASTELGIOCONDO RIPE AL CONVENTO RISERVA BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2012
DOCG

556647 (XD) 3000mL $600.00

The purity of expression found in the Ripe al Convento owes much to the maturity of the vines and the depth of the roots. These roots allow the vines access to moisture, permitting consistent development and ripening even during hot, dry summers such as that experienced in 2012. This is a wine that always demonstrates poise, harmony, elegance and refinement. Look for floral and spice inflections atop black fruit, leather and earth.

VOLIERO BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2012
DOCG

451534 (XD) 750mL $80.00

TASTING NOTE: Voliero is a second brand made by Uccelliera's Andrea Cortonesi. It's slightly more affordable but that's a tricky argument to make given the new sky high price points I'm seeing across the denomination. The Voliero 2012 Brunello di Montalcino is a very pretty expression with dark fruit and an impressive sense of purity and primary fruit authenticity. At its core, you will encounter savory tones of spice, tobacco and leather. The bouquet also offers those beautifully polished Sangiovese-driven aromas of licorice, blue violets and balsam herb. The mouthfeel is succulent and rich. This is a very respectable Brunello that should age forward for at least ten years. Drink Date: 2018-2028. Score: 94+ (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, Feb. 28, 2017)

CAPARZO RISERVA BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2011
DOCG

373563 (D) 750mL $90.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2011 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a dense and inky dark wine with hardly any light penetration. The bouquet is lavish and extravagant with opulent layers of black fruit, plum, dried blackberry, exotic spice, cigar box and red rose. Those savory notes of tobacco and leather are my favorite part of this wine. I love the way they wrap thickly over the palate and spread so generously on the finish. The more I study this wine, the more it reveals. The thick mouthfeel offers some chewiness and there's a distinct layer of jammy fruit that adds some weight to the finish. This wine needs a little longer to integrate, but should last in the long run. Drink date: 2018-2030. Score: 94 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, Feb. 28, 2017)

MAZZEI TENUTA BELGUARDO 2011
IGT Maremma Toscana

678326 (XD) 750mL $50.00

Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2018 through 2030. Score: 93 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, Oct. 31, 2015)

CASTELGIOCONDO RIPE AL CONVENTO RISERVA BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2010
DOCG

724252 (XD) 750mL $130.00

TASTING NOTE: Tightly wound, with brisk acidity driving the flavors of cherry, plum, leather, iron, earth and eucalyptus. Hangs together beautifully, allowing vivid acidity to corral the endless finish. Best from 2019 through 2036. Score: 95 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, June 30, 2016)

RUFFINO ROMITORIO DI SANTEDAME 2007
IGT Toscana

TASTING NOTE: An inky, extracted style, this red bristles with blackberry, blueberry and pomegranate flavors. Vibrant and well-muscled with tannins, finishing with a dense, mouthcoating sensation. An ambitious version in the international style. Colorino and Merlot. Best from 2014 through 2026. Score: 92 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, Oct. 31, 2011)

ALLEGRINI LA POJA 2011
IGT Veronese

352450 (XD) 750mL $110.00

TASTING NOTE: Opulent as well as elegant, this structured red boasts aromas of black currant, exotic spice, new oak and fragrant blue flower. Made entirely with native grape Corvina, the velvety palate doles out spiced blackberry, juicy cherry, licorice and black pepper. Firm, polished tannins provide the smooth framework. QUINTA DO MONTE D'OIRO RESERVE 2012
Vinho Regional Lisboa

539411 (XD) 750mL $49.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2012 Reserva is a Syrah with 4% Viognier added in, aged for 16 to 20 months (depending on the plot of Syrah) in French oak (only 40% new). It comes in at 14% alcohol. Showing the winery's trademark finesse in the mid-palate, this then displays plenty of power and demonstrates how serious it is as it airs in the glass. Very French and very Rhone, this is not yet as expressive as it will one day become. This (and the winery's Syrah 24) are easy to underestimate because they are so graceful and frequently understated. They both have a very refined and upper-level feel to them. The lingering finish makes this even more special. Drink Date: 2017-2033. Score: 94 (Mark Squires, robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2016)

13TH STREET ESSENCE CABERNET FRANC 2011
VQA Niagara Peninsula

546747 (XD) 750mL $45.00

TASTING NOTE: The Essence series of wines at 13th Street was designed with winemaker Colas in mind, a "signature series" of wines that would capture the heart and soul of the vineyards and vintage from which they came, with Colas's special signature style evident in the finished product. The wines were developed to clearly express Colas's winemaking philosophy - one of minimalist intervention, natural and patient winemaking with wines crafted based on aroma, taste and texture not numbers from a lab report. These wines are made from only those varieties that showed exceptional potential in the vineyard and cellar and only in those vintages that permitted such excellence. The nose of this Cab Franc is a treat - smoky, swirling spices to go with sweet cherry pie, plums, blueberry, black currants, cigar leaf and violets. It's ripe and concentrated in the mouth, a big wine to be sure, with meaty, lavish fruit and grippy tannins but the lush fruits and spice are never overshadowed by the oak. A well done Cab Franc that will need time to be fully appreciated. Score: 92 (Rick VanSickle, winesinniagara.com, Dec. 3, 2013)

MISSION HILL OCULUS 2013
BC VQA Okanagan Valley

9316 (XD) 750mL $135.00

TASTING NOTE: Exuding black cherry, blackberry, mineral and spice flavors, this vibrant red is plush and structured at the same time, with lively acidity marshaling it through the long finish. Drink now through 2023. Score: 92 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, June 15, 2017)

BROKENWOOD TALLAWANTA SHIRAZ 2015
Hunter Valley, New South Wales

553636 (XD) 750mL $119.00

TASTING NOTE: The 9ha Tallawanta Vineyard was planted in 1920 by the Elliott family, and made wine of great quality sought by many, including Maurice O'Shea. Hand-picked, 3 days cold soak, fermented with cultured yeast, matured in a large format 3yo French cask for 15 months. The decision to use no new oak, but all French and of radically different sizes is as intriguing as it is successful. The vintage wasn't great, but this medium-bodied wine has soared above the challenges, its earthy/savoury/leathery flavours pure Hunter Valley terroir. Drink By: 2045. Score: 97 (James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au, Aug. 1, 2017)

HICKINBOTHAM CLARENDON VINEYARD BROOKS ROAD SHIRAZ 2015
McLaren Vale, South Australia

550335 (XD) 750mL $109.00

TASTING NOTE: In a word, breathtaking. Yes it's powerful, richly flavoured and full-bodied but the angel is in the detail. Black-crimson-purple same as the fruit notes within flecked with bay leaves, dark chocolate with cinnamon spice. The oak is neatly tucked in, the tannins plump and slightly grainy with exceptional length. Special Value. Drink By: 2033. Score: 96 (Jane Faulkner, winecompanion.com.au, Aug. 1, 2017)

TORBRECK THE STRUIE 2015
Barossa Valley, South Australia

97279 (XD) 750mL $74.00

Josh Raynolds awarded this wine a rating of 92 points, calling it "... powerfully scented, complex ... with sweet black and blue fruit, spicecake and violet flavors that show a surprisingly light touch for their heft ..." and suggesting a drinking window of 2021-2030. (vinous.com, Oct. 2017)

TASTING NOTE: Lots of soy, stone, iodine and oyster shell with blue and black fruits. Full to medium body, firm and silky tannins and a juicy and long finish. The quarter of Eden gives this complexity and length. Drink now. Score: 95 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Jan. 1, 2018)

TORBRECK RUN RIG 2013
Barossa Valley, South Australia

97204 (XD) 750mL $315.00

TASTING NOTE: Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2013 Run Rig has a tantalizingly exotic nose of cloves, fenugreek, star anise and cassia with a core of mulberries, baked blackberries and blueberry preserves plus hints of potpourri and dusty earth. The full-bodied palate is multi-layered with tons of spices and berry preserves notes, supported by firm yet velvety tannins and finishing with incredible length and depth. This is a very impressive RunRig. Drink Date: 2018-2035. Score: 98+ (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, June 29, 2016)

HENSCHKE CYRIL HENSCHKE CABERNET SAUVIGNON/CABERNET FRANC/MERLOT 2012
Eden Valley, South Australia

426395 (XD) 750mL $215.00

TASTING NOTE: 79% cabernet sauvignon, 15% cabernet franc, 7% merlot, vinified separately, matured in French hogsheads (38% new) for 18 months. This is one of Australia's greatest cabernets, staring down Coonawarra and Margaret River (just for starters). The argument evaporates when you admit - as you must - that those wines are in such different styles it's an apples and oranges comparison. The real comparison is between this and Mount Mary. It has a purity and elegance that puts it in a class of its own. Drink By: 2039. Score: 97 (James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au, Oct. 6, 2016)

HENSCHKE HILL OF GRACE SHIRAZ 2012
Eden Valley, South Australia

399675 (XD) 750mL $1,040.00

TASTING NOTE: Medium to deep garnet colored, the 2012 Shiraz Hill of Grace is a little reticent on the nose to begin, opening out to a somewhat paradoxically tantalizing black forest cake, beef dripping, fertile loam and tree bark nose with hints of black pepper, Marmite, bay leaves, eucalyptus, licorice and baker's chocolate. The medium to full-bodied palate is a wonderfully intricate mélange of mineral, savory, dark fruits and spice layers, framed by velvety tannins and refreshing acidity, finishing epically. This is a truly great Hill of Grace that has just entered the first stage of its drinking window and should continue to develop beautifully over the next 25+ years. Drink 2019-2035. Score: 99 (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Aug. 31, 2017)

TWO PADDOCKS PINOT NOIR 2015
Central Otago, South Island

301283 (XD) 750mL $55.00

TASTING NOTE: Complex and intriguing, with fresh raspberry, cherry and tangerine flavors. Sleek and polished, but showing plenty of traction from the tannins. The details are sophisticated and aromatic, delivering notes of dried lavender, black tea, vanilla bean and toasted cumin seed. Drink now through 2030. Score: 93 (MaryAnn Worobiec, winespectator.com, May 31, 2017)

MULLINEUX SYRAH 2015
Unfiltered and unfined, WO Swartland

246553 (XD) 750mL $46.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Syrah includes two additional vineyards on granite soils after the 2015, whilst the whole bunch component is back up to 60%. It has a clean and precise bouquet with floral-tinged red berry fruit (red cherry and wild strawberry), nicely focused and developing more intensity with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity, fine structure, much more detail than the 2014 and I think that is down to the higher whole bunch proportion, the sense of energy flowing through on the long finish. Drink Date: 2018-2030. Score: 93 (Neal Martin, robertparker.com, April 28, 2017)

LEEUWENKUIL HERITAGE CHENIN BLANC 2013
WO Swartland

553115 (XD) 750mL $40.00

TASTING NOTE: Harvested at 18-22 Balling, whole bunch pressed, natural ferment in the barrel. Complex, broad, fresh and multidimensional. Some nuts and wax, with fine spiciness. There's a lovely brightness to this wine, with real depth. Score: 93 (Jamie Goode, wineanorak.com, Sept. 17, 2015)

PASCUAL TOSO FINCA PEDREGAL SINGLE VINEYARD 2014
Barrancas Vineyards, Maipo Valley, Mendoza

227439 (XD) 750mL $93.00

TASTING NOTE: If you love massive Argentine reds with purity of fruit and fine oak, then this blend is up your alley. Toasty blackberry aromas come with plenty of oak grain, vanilla and depth. This is profoundly deep on the palate, while toasty blackberry, chocolate and peppery flavors finish with mocha and bracing tannins that aren't too rocky or hard. Drink through 2025. Editors' Choice. Score: 95 (Michael Schachner, Wine Enthusiast, Feb. 1, 2017)

ALTA VISTA TEMIS SINGLE VINEYARD MALBEC 2013
Uco Valley, Mendoza

119859 (XD) 750mL $56.00

TASTING NOTE: Just when you think Alta Vista has gotten everything it can from Temis (see the 2012), this comes along to reset the benchmark. Ripe, round and lush on the nose, with full-force blackberry and prune aromas, this shows titanic grip, depth and ripeness on the palate. Flavors of raisin, chocolate and blackberry finish with hefty tannins and a smear of mocha flavor. Drink from 2018-2026. Editors' Choice. Ranked #3 on 2017 Wine Enthusiast's Top 100 Wines. Score: 96 (Michael Schachner, Wine Enthusiast, Feb. 1, 2017)

CATENA ZAPATA WHITE BONES ADRIANNA VINEYARD CHARDONNAY 2014
Mendoza

514844 (XD) 750mL $120.00

TASTING NOTE: White Wine of the Year. It's a high bar to clear, but this is the best release yet of this remarkable Chardonnay, sourced from limestone soils in Gualtallary. Subtle, leesy and delicately oaked, with pithy acidity and notes of citrus and struck match, it wouldn't look out of place in a line up of Grands Crus Burgundies. Drink Date: 2017-2024. Score: 97 (Tim Atkin, MW, timatkin.com, Argentina Special Report 2017)

SANTA CAROLINA HERENCIA CARMENÈRE 2010
Peumo, Cachapoal Valley

228387 (XD) 750mL $70.00

TASTING NOTE: Herencia is regarded as one of Chile's very best Carmenères. This rendition is concentrated on the nose, with blackberry, cassis, baking spices, herbal notes and root essence rolled into a fantastic whole. A deep, layered palate is loaded with blackberry, mocha and controlled herbal flavors, while the finish is oaky but comfortable, with lasting spicy flavors. Drink now through 2019. Editors' Choice. Score: 94 (Michael Schachner, Wine Enthusiast, March 1, 2015)

OPUS ONE 2014
Napa Valley

26310 (XD) 750mL $590.00

TASTING NOTE: Blended of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec, the Opus One 2014 Proprietary Red Wine sports an inky purple color and nose of crushed black and red currants, black cherries and mulberries with touches of underbrush, sautéed herbs and pencil shavings plus a waft of spice box. Medium-bodied, finely crafted and with an energetic line lifting the red and black fruits, it has a bold frame of grainy tannins and a very long, earth and spice-layered finish. Drink Date: 2019-2047. Score: 96 (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Oct. 31, 2017)

FREEMARK RUTHERFORD CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2013
Napa Valley

562751 (XD) 750mL $100.00

TASTING NOTE: Aromas of blackberries, wet earth and fresh mushrooms follow through to a full body, a dense palate with chewy yet polished tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Hints of tree bark. Solid wine. Drink in 2019. Score: 93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, May 22, 2017)

SILVER OAK ALEXANDER VALLEY CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2013
Alexander Valley, Sonoma County

709808 (XD) 1500mL $230.00

TASTING NOTE: Pure, rich and firm, with an enticing core of blackberry, black olive, dill and herb flavors, ending with a cedary oak edge. Impressive for the mix of intensity and balance. Drink now through 2032. Score: 90 (James Laube, winespectator.com, 2017)

BLACK STALLION ESTATE BARREL RESERVE 2012
Napa Valley

553669 (XD) 750mL $200.00

TASTING NOTE: This is a 100% varietal wine, age-worthy and decadent, a hedonistic display of raspberry and chocolate with just the barest hint of clove and pepper. Soft, velvety tannins give it additional lushness and pleasurability. It's enjoyable now, but should hold well through 2022. Cellar Selection. Score: 94 (Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast, Sept. 1, 2016)

LOUIS M. MARTINI MONTE ROSSO VINEYARD CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2012
Sonoma Valley

407114 (XD) 750mL $137.00

TASTING NOTE: I am always a fan of this wine with its dusty, red-tile and rust character, which underlines the fruit and ripe tannins. Full-bodied, powerful and tannic, all the way up to the flavorful finish. Give it three or four years to soften. Score: 95 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Dec. 12, 2016)

OPUS ONE 2012
Napa Valley

14324 (XD) 1500mL $1,395.00

TASTING NOTE: The iconic 2012 Proprietary Red Opus One is a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot, 6% Merlot and 2% Malbec aged 18 months in French oak. A classy, complex, suave and savory 2012 Opus One, with notes of toasty oak and crème de cassis. This Pauillac lookalike, made by the staff at Mouton Rothschild, is a beauty. They have continued to strengthen the quality of wine and seem to have produced a brilliant, world-class wine. I imagine the 2013 may even eclipse this, but this 2012 is one of their great ones, with a seamless integration of acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood all present in this beautiful, full-bodied wine that should drink well for 25-30 years. Score: 96 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2015)

OPUS ONE OVERTURE
Napa Valley

487504 (XD) 750mL $268.00

Overture has - since 1993 - been the second wine of Opus, in the tradition of the great Bordeaux estates. Sourced from the same estate vineyards as Opus One and presented here in its vintage-spanning incarnation, the Overture is also a classic Bordeaux blend built around Cabernet Sauvignon.

Russian River Valley, Sonoma County

200816 (XD) 750mL $70.00

TASTING NOTE: Opening with apricot, guava and honey toast scents with a waft of butterscotch, the 2015 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch has a medium body laden with ripe stone fruit and toast flavors, marked by a lively backbone and finishing clean and fresh. Drink date:2017-2021. Score: 90 (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, April 28, 2017)

ELK COVE LA BOHÈME PINOT NOIR 2015
Yamhill-Carlton, Williamette Valley

438416 (XD) 750mL $75.00

TASTING NOTE: Dark bright-rimmed red. Ripe blackberry, cherry, licorice and pungent floral scents show very good lift and clarity. Supple, open-knit and appealingly sweet, offering concentrated dark berry and violet pastille flavors that are given spicy bite by a white pepper nuance. Displays very good clarity and solid thrust on the long, smooth finish, which features rounded tannins and repeating spiciness. Drinking window: 2020-2027. Score: 93 (Josh Raynolds, vinous.com, Jan. 2018)

ELK COVE VINEYARDS GOODRICH PINOT NOIR 2015

TASTING NOTE: Produced using 50% whole clusters, the 2015 Goodrich Pinot Noir has a pale to medium ruby-purple color and a fragrant nose of red roses, Bing cherries and Provence herbs with hints of underbrush, lavender and damp soil. Medium-bodied, fine, fresh and delicately-played on the palate, it has a nice foundation of grippy tannins and very appealing freshness that continues through the long finish. Drink Date: 2017-2023. TAYLOR FLADGATE & YEATMAN VERY OLD SINGLE HARVEST TAWNY PORT 1968
DOC

552489 (S) 750mL $300.00

TASTING NOTE: Gorgeous from the get-go, with toasted sesame, green tea, walnut husk, pistachio cream and peanut toffee notes seamlessly layered atop one another, framed by a subtle singed alder hint. Everything glides with grace through the finish like a gently wafting plume of smoke off burning incense. Drink now. Score: 98 (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, Feb. 28, 2018)

BUNNAHABHAIN LIMITED EDITION ISLAY SINGLE MALT 1980
Unchillfiltered, Canasta cask finish

554113 750mL $4,500.00

Bunnahabhain is considered the most restrained of the Islay whiskies: the emphasis is on the delicate interplay of the fruit, saline and oak-influenced vanilla and chocolate rather than on smoky peat. This 1980 was aged in Oloroso casks before being finished in Canasta Sherry casks. It will offer Bunnahabhain's noted balance and richness, with suggestions of brine, toffee, dried fruit and touches of mocha. A collector's dream.
