THOMAS HINE TRIOMPHE GRANDE CHAMPAGNE COGNAC
AC

292888 700mL $995.00

Made from a blend of 50 rare old cognacs exclusively from Grande Champagne that are aged for an average of 45-55 years. This is an exquisite, smooth classic that is a must-have for the serious collector.

MARQUIS DE MONTESQUIOU RESERVE ARMAGNAC
AC

575647 700mL $63.00

The Montesquiou family has been a part of most aspects of Gascony life since 1040. The family lineage includes many notables, but perhaps the best known is the highly decorated musketeer Pierre de Montesquiou, comte d'Artagnan: the real-life inspiration for the heavily fictionalized hero of Dumas's The Three Musketeers. The majority of this Reserve Armagnac is sourced from Bas Armagnac. The final blend will offer a floral, complex, round experience with nuts, dried fruit, spice and pepper. Score: Silver Medal (Concours Général Paris, 2017)

CHÂTEAU LA COUSPAUDE 2015
AC Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

609073 (XD) 750mL $113.00

TASTING NOTE: Plenty of spicy and meaty aromas laid into ripe dark-plum, cassis and blueberry flavors, plus hints of porcini to boot. The palate's neatly arranged with ample tannins delivering a long, plum-stone-flavored finish. Best from 2022. Score: 93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Feb. 2, 2018)

CHÂTEAU CANON 2010
1er Grand Cru Classé B, AC Saint-Émilion

571588 (XD) 750mL $235.00

TASTING NOTE: Tasted at the Château Canon vertical, the 2010 Canon has developed a certain opulence in the nose since I last tasted it. A blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc, there is a surfeit of blackberry and blueberry fruit, [and] background scents of warm gravel and pressed flowers that emerge with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a succulent core of sweet mulberry and dark plum fruit, surprisingly saline in the mouth, very well balanced with the Cabernet Franc stealing the steering wheel from the Merlot on the finish that fans out beautifully. As I mentioned in my previous note, I feel that this will shut down for several years, but it will ultimately deliver an impressive Château Canon, albeit one with a rockin' 15% alcohol. Drink Date: 2020-2045. Score: 93 (Neal Martin, robertparker.com, March 31, 2017)

CHÂTEAU DE FONBEL 2010
AC Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

655092 (XD) 750mL $63.00

TASTING NOTE: What a wonderful nose of crushed berries and flowers. Full body, with super polished tannins and a long juicy finish. It's a little austere. It must be the small percentage of Carmenere in the blend. Yummy but better in 2016. Seductive. Score: 93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Feb. 16, 2013)

CHÂTEAU MALESCOT ST-EXUPÉRY 2010
3e cru, AC Margaux

506949 (XD) 750mL $222.00

TASTING NOTE: Gorgeous, flowery, classic Margaux once again, the 2010 Malescot St.-Exupery continues to show virtually no toasty oak, given the impeccable balance and full-bodied, full-throttle style it possesses. Black raspberries, creme de cassis and spring floral notes intermixed with forest floor and a hint of charcoal are followed by an opulent, sexy, full-bodied wine whose tannins have become much sweeter, while the wine is less restrained yet still exuberant and impressive. This is a phenomenal example once again for this estate, harmonious in every sense of style, extraordinarily long, rich and ageworthy. Three to four years of bottle age will do wonders to make it more accessible, but this wine is set for 25-30 years of longevity. Drink Date: 2013-2043. Score: 95 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Feb. 27, 2013)

CHÂTEAU MONTROSE 2008
2e cru, AC Saint-Estèphe

137240 (XD) 750mL $278.00

TASTING NOTE: Tasted at the château, the 2008 Montrose is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot picked between 29 September and 15 October. It has a far superior bouquet compared to the underperforming 2006 with black fruit, minerals, fern and briary. It is very composed, almost understated, yet clearly with great potential. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin, a fine line of acidity, powerful for the finish but with impressive mineralité and tension on the persistent finish. It is quite an audacious 2008 and one of the finest wines of the vintage. Drink Date: 2020-2055. Score: 94 (Neal Martin, robertparker.com, March 31, 2017)

CHÂTEAU TOUR DE PEZ 2008
AC Saint-Estèphe

571695 (XD) 750mL $62.00

TASTING NOTE: Relatively soft for a St.-Estèphe, this nevertheless has plenty of firm tannins to project the powerful fruit forward. It has structure and weight, piled with plum juice and acidity. Great aging potential. Cellar Selection. Score: 92 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 31, 2010)

CHÂTEAU LÉOVILLE POYFERRÉ 2006
2e cru, AC Saint-Julien

571596 (XD) 750mL $175.00

TASTING NOTE: Tasted at Bordeaux Index's annual 10-Year On tasting in London. The 2006 Château Léoville Poyferré has one of the most harmonious and complete bouquets from Saint Julien: very well-defined blackberry, briary and chalky scents, real focus and delivery here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, ripe tannin matched with well-judged acidity. Like the 2006 Léoville-Barton, it is stubborn and backward, but there is clearly harmony and focus on the finish, the new oak deftly assimilated in the fabric of the wine. This is a lovely wine from Didier Cuvelier. Drink Date: 2020-2040. Score: 92 (Neal Martin, robertparker.com, May 29, 2016)

CHÂTEAU LE CAILLOU 2004
AC Pomerol

571679 (XD) 750mL $77.00

Château Le Caillou is a tiny seven-hectare property with vines averaging about 30 years of age situated on gravel and clay soils at the top of the Pomerol plateau. This wine represents a great opportunity to experience maturing Bordeaux and at a very reasonable price. Look for this to still offer much of the vibrancy and approachability of its youth with maturing notions of dried fruit and leather tones working through the black fruit and plum.

CHÂTEAU DE MALLE 2009
2e cru, AC Sauternes

241463 (S) 375mL $45.00

TASTING NOTE: Superbly ripe, this wine shows upfront botrytis and honey flavors. At its core, it bears opulence, with depth and concentration. The open character of the wine is shot through with lemon and orange zest flavors. Score: 94 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Feb. 1, 2013)

JOSEPH DROUHIN CLOS DE VOUGEOT GRAND CRU 2016
AC

113464 (XD) 750mL $459.00

TASTING NOTE: This is a Clos de Vougeot with a dense and velvety texture that shows richness and structure. Yet, there is a friendliness and polish to the palate. Hazelnut and cream undertones. Reserved and almost shy at this point. Savory and flavorful. Drink in 2021. Score: 96 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Feb. 15, 2018)

BENJAMIN LEROUX LES MITANS VOLNAY 1ER CRU 2015
AC

568808 (XD) 750mL $120.00

TASTING NOTE: A markedly floral-infused nose is both cool and admirably pure with its red currant, violet, lilac, spice and tea scents. The delicate and lacy middle weight flavors exude a subtle minerality while delivering fine depth and length on the understated finish where a hint of bitter cherry surfaces. This is pretty much textbook Mitans. Drink: 2023+. Score: 90-92 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, April 15, 2017)

BOUCHARD PÈRE & FILS SANTENAY 2015
AC

684647 (XD) 750mL $35.00

TASTING NOTE: Macerated cherry, plum and earth flavors are backed by solid tannins in this red, which flirts with the fleshy side yet remains elegant, with plenty of fruit. Long, fresh finish. Best from 2019 through 2028. Score: 91 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, Nov. 30, 2017)

MAISON LEROY GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN 2015
AC

574699 (XD) 750mL $920.00

Even within a region as storied as Burgundy there must be places of even further distinction. Such a place is Gevrey-Chambertin, home to nine grand cru vineyards. It is from these sites that some of the world's most sought-after wines are created. Among the most intense and structured of all Burgundy reds, they are impressively full-bodied and ageable. The non-grand-cru wines of Gevrey-Chambertin, such as this one from the renowned Maison Leroy, carry significant reputations in their own right. This depth and breadth of quality has seen the area earn the moniker "the King of Burgundy." No mean feat, and very apt here, as the remarkable Marcelle (Lalou) Leroy, owner of Maison Leroy, is Burgundy's queen.

JAFFELIN CHAMBOLLE MUSIGNY 2014
AC

562561 (XD) 750mL $86.00

TASTING NOTE: Complex and elegant, there is layer upon layer of dried fruit, herbs, cedar oak and leather in this wine. It has real finesse, a restrained fruit core and there's a welcome lightness of touch from lively acidity. Score: 96 (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2017)

LOUIS JADOT LES CAZETIERS GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN 1ER CRU 2014
AC

745422 (XD) 750mL $150.00

TASTING NOTE: Here strong reduction renders the nose completely unreadable. However there is good freshness and excellent intensity to the vibrant, detailed and impressively scaled broad-shouldered flavors that possess excellent power and plenty of underlying tension on the focused, youthfully austere and impeccably well-balanced finish. This firmly structured and beautifully persistent effort is really very good and worth a look. Sweet spot Outstanding. Drink: 2026+. Score: 91-93 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, April 15, 2016)

DOMAINE TAWSE MAZIS-CHAMBERTIN GRAND CRU 2013
AC

577635 (XD) 750mL $300.00

TASTING NOTE: (70% new oak): Deep red. Dark fruits and an element of leesy reduction on the nose. Then sweet, fat and ripe on the palate, offering terrific depth and richness to its dark berry, licorice and violet flavors. Presents a felicitous combination of fullness and energy, with the fruit carrying impressively on the very long, ripely tannic aftertaste. Drink 2022-2034. Score: 91-94 (Stephen Tanzer, vinous.com, Jan. 2015)

MARCHAND-TAWSE GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN 2013
AC

538819 (XD) 750mL $70.00

TASTING NOTE: A distinctly earthy nose features notes of plum, violet and underbrush. There is fine volume and mid-palate density to the medium-bodied flavors that exude a stony character that adds a sense of lift to the rustic, firm and serious but ripe and solidly lingering finish. A quality villages. Drink: 2021+. Score: 88-91 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, Jan. 15, 2015)

LOUIS-JADOT CÉLÉBRATION BEAUNE 1ER CRU 2012
153-year anniversary, AC

602862 (XD) 3000mL $390.00

TASTING NOTE: A subtle touch of wood sets off ripe and relatively elegant notes of earth, dark cherry and spice. The mid-palate is dense, serious and powerful with plenty of mouth coating sap that helps to buffer the very firm tannic spine on the moderately austere, backward and built-to-age finale. While this is presently backward it should be approachable after 6 to 8 years of bottle age though note that it should live for a very long time. For readers having a child or grandchild in 2012 this would be a good choice to buy in quantity at a price that won't break the bank. Drink: 2024+. Outstanding. Score: 92 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, April 15, 2015)

LOUIS JADOT LES THEURONS BEAUNE 1ER CRU 2009
AC

601435 (XD) 3000mL $399.00

TASTING NOTE: This is notably prettier than the Grèves with a somewhat fresher and very red pinot-infused nose that is followed by detailed, intense and firm medium-bodied flavors that possess good energy and punch on the mouth coating and somewhat linear finish. I like this as it has good development potential as well as a bit more mid-palate flesh though it is not a classic young Beaune as the mouth feel is somewhat stern. Drink: 2017+. Score: 89-92 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, May 10, 2011)

MAISON LOUIS JADOT LE VAUCRAIN CÔTE DE NUITS-VILLAGES 2009
AC

601468 (XD) 3000mL $715.00

TASTING NOTE: This is quite ripe with a moderately somber nose of earthy violet and spice-infused plum aromas that complement the equally reticent, tight and compact medium-bodied flavors that possess fine mid-palate density and very good if not special length. As is its wont, this is relatively rustic yet not so much so that it is uncivilized though it's clear that the tannins are not particularly sophisticated. That said, there really is excellent underlying material and I suspect that this will evolve very successfully while adding both depth and a more refined mouth feel. Drink: 2017+. Score: 88 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, April 1, 2012)

MAISON LEROY BOURGOGNE BLANC 2016
AC

467241 (XD) 750mL $149.00

Burgundy's most celebrated vigneronne, Madame Bize-Leroy, is a living legend, with a career spanning an astounding 62 vintages. Lalou, as she is affectionately known, began overseeing the family négociant business, Maison Leroy, in 1955 when her father turned his focus to running Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. There are few winemakers in the world with as celebrated an understanding of the nuances of terroir, and fewer still as capable of crafting wines that demonstrate such defined articulation. Her tenacity and relentless pursuit of quality permit no compromise. Her wines are a definitive declaration of the spirit of Burgundy.

DOMAINE LATOUR-GIRAUD MEURSAULT-GENEVRIÈRES 1ER CRU 2015
AC

111344 (XD) 750mL $134.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières from Domaine Latour Giraud, one of the largest landowners in this vineyard, is very attractive, wafting from the glass with notes of crisp green pear, lemon oil, hazelnut, baking spice and wheat toast. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, bright and vibrant, with a bracing line of acidity, good concentration and a penetrating finish. This is a notably tensile, bright 2015 that will need a couple of years in the cellar to come together. Drink Date: 2020-2030. Score: 92 (William Kelley, robertparker.com, April 27, 2018)

DOMAINE LOUIS MOREAU CHABLIS VALMUR GRAND CRU 2015
AC

592691 (XD) 750mL $91.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur comes from 62-year-old vines and sees 24 months in oak barrels, including eight months on the lees. It was showing just a touch of reduction on the nose, but that should ebb away with time, and there appears to be impressive intensity locked in underneath. The palate is well balanced with a smear of honey on the entry, a light spiciness that becomes more prominent toward the finish and a tang of lemongrass right on the finish. Very fine. Drink Date: 2019-2033. Score: 92 (Neal Martin, robertparker.com, Aug. 31, 2017)

LOUIS JADOT PULIGNY MONTRACHET 2015
AC

562215 (XD) 750mL $104.00

TASTING NOTE: An attractively fresh nose offers up notes of green fruit, acacia, pear and a hint of honeysuckle. The lush and lavishly proportioned flavors manage to retain a reasonable level of precision on the sappy, complex and balanced finish. This is really quite good for a villages level wine and I like the relatively dry backend. Drink: 2020+. Score: 89-91 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, June 11, 2017)

LOUIS MICHEL & FILS CHABLIS 1ER CRU MONTÉE DE TONNERRE 2015
AC

933499 (XD) 750mL $57.00

Tim Atkin awarded this wine 93 points in the 2015 Burgundy Special Report.

TASTING NOTE: Exotic yet discreet scents of apple and fresh herbs, plus a faint lactic note. More open in the mouth than the Vaulorent; in fact, already generous even if its fruit tones are muted in the early going. Chewy, flinty, minerally wine with building pear fruit. Finishes with sneaky rising length. Doesn't show the normal austerity of this elite premier cru and yet this wine comes across as only moderately ripe. In fact, the estate had originally planned to pick this fruit on September 7 but had to bring it in quickly after the hailstorm. Drinking window: 2019-2026. Score: 90 (Stephen Tanzer, vinous.com, Aug. 2017)

J.L. CHAVE SÉLECTION SILÈNE CROZES-HERMITAGE 2016
AC

387332 (XD) 750mL $30.00

TASTING NOTE: Bright violet. Expressive, mineral-tinged cherry and blackberry scents, along with hints of smoky bacon, licorice and succulent flowers. Concentrated and energetic on the palate, offering juicy, spice-laced black and blue fruit flavors that put on weight and become sweeter with air. Closes very long and sweet, showing excellent clarity and cut on the minerally, youthfully tannic finish. Drinking Window: 2021-2029. Score: 92 (Josh Raynolds, vinous.com, April 2018)

DOMAINE DE CRISTIA RENAISSANCE CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE 2015
AC

562553 (XD) 750mL $94.00

TASTING NOTE: This has an intense core of crushed plum, raspberry and boysenberry fruit flavors, draped with melted licorice notes and backed by a wave of warm fruitcake. Hedonistic for sure, but accents of anise, violet and singed apple wood dart around, adding extra facets of intrigue to hold your attention. Grenache and Mourvèdre. Best from 2020 through 2040. TARDIEU-LAURENT CÔTE-RÔTIE 2015
AC

931865 (XD) 750mL $100.00

TASTING NOTE: Michel's inky-colored 2015 Côte Rôtie is a profound powerhouse that's loaded with notions of black raspberries, black cherries, toasted spices, spring flowers and hints of olives. Gorgeously pure, concentrated, full-bodied and seamless, it has no hard edges, fine, yet present tannin and terrific length. It's a deep, rich, seriously impressive Côte Rôtie that will keep for more than 20 years. Score: 95-97 (Jeb Dunnuck, winespectator.com, Dec. 30, 2016)

LOU COUCARDIÉ ROUGE 2012
AC Costierès de Nîmes

39230 (XD) 750mL $35.00

TASTING NOTE: More ripe and decadent than the 2013, the 2012 Costières de Nîmes Lou Coucardie (49% Mourvèdre, 35% Grenache and the balance Syrah) is a big, mouth-filling effort that gives up loads of chewy black raspberry, black currants, smoked earth and pepper. Full-bodied, concentrated and dense, yet still showing elegance and purity, it has some rustic tannin that needs a year or two to integrate and will be at its best from 2016-2024. LAURUS HERMITAGE 2014
AP

594655 (XD) 750mL $70.00

TASTING NOTE: Features an exotic, honeyed edge, along with light hazelnut and quince notes, though the core is built on pure Cavaillon melon and yellow apple flavors. Gorgeous jasmine and verbena details thread the finish, presenting a spine of fresh salted butter. Drink now through 2022. 90 cases made. MICHEL FONNÉ MAMBOURG RIESLING 2014
AC Alsace Grand Cru

581579 (M) 750mL $43.00

TASTING NOTE: Dandelion, earthiness and apple peel appear vividly on the nose, and a certain creaminess can also be discerned. The off-dry palate is incredibly fruity and boosts the sweetness of deliciously ripe apples while remaining absolutely tart and fresh. The finish is dry and fresh but this will echo any sweet element in an otherwise savory dish. Delicious and long. Drink: 2017-2035. Score: 93 (Anne Krebiehl, MW, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 1, 2017)

TRIMBACH RÉSERVE PERSONELLE PINOT GRIS 2013

KRUG GRANDE CUVÉE BRUT CHAMPAGNE

TASTING NOTE: This mouthwatering Champagne shows a lovely sense of finesse, with firm acidity deftly married to a rich profile of crème de cassis, toasted brioche and lime blossom, accented by hints of café au lait, singed orange peel and exotic spice. DOMAINE DU PÉLICAN ARBOIS TROIS CÉPAGES 2016
AC

529073 (XD) 750mL $56.00

TASTING NOTE: The one red blend 2016 Arbois Trois Cépages is 60% Pinot Noir, 35% Trousseau and 5% Poulsard from a low crop because of problems with flowering and some illnesses that affected the plants. This was a year for those who worked in the vineyard, because otherwise they could have lost the crop or had to harvest early without ripeness. All grapes were destemmed, fermented separately and then blended and aged in large oak foudre and Burgundy barrels for ten months. The Trousseau gives the spiciness to the nose here; this is a very subtle and elegant red blend with a very tasty palate with focused flavors and fine tannins, more elegant and insinuating, in a fine style. Drink Date: 2018-2020. Score: 91 (Luis Gutiérrez, robertparker.com, Dec. 29, 2017)

DOMAINE DU PÉLICAN ARBOIS CHARDONNAY 2016
AC

496455 (XD) 750mL $56.00

TASTING NOTE: This starts off with a plump hint, showing alluring pear, green almond and yellow apple fruit, but turns progressively racy and fresh, as this is lined liberally with verbena and honeysuckle notes before ending with a streak of dried chamomile. Drink now through 2021. Score: 91 (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, June 15, 2018)

DOMAINE DU PÉLICAN ARBOIS SAVAGNIN OUILLÉ 2016
AC

497099 (XD) 750mL $56.00

TASTING NOTE: Showing the pure varietal profile, the 2016 Arbois Savagnin Ouillé reflects very much the style of Domaine du Pelican - clean, fresh and focused wines. It fermented and aged in foudre and 500-liter barrels for ten months. It has good ripeness and nicely integrated oak. The palate revealed pungent flavors [of] great intensity and good acidity. 18,000 bottles produced. The aim is to make Savagnin the grape of the Domaine. This is my favorite wine of the portfolio, a wine with energy and character. Drink Date: 2018-2022. Score: 92+ (Luis Gutiérrez, robertparker.com, Dec. 29, 2017)

DOMAINE HUET LE MONT MOELLEUX VOUVRAY 2009
AC

571729 (S) 750mL $82.00

TASTING NOTE: The golden-yellow 2009 Vouvray Le Mont Moelleux has a fascinating subtle and aromatic bouquet of perfectly ripe and gently stewed fruits intertwined with biscuit, confiture and caramel notes, as well as lemony flinty aromas. Smooth, round and very elegant, with great finesse and balance, this is a a very piquant and salty moelleux with a persistent and aromatic, yet purely mineral and tension-filled finish. The 2009 is very stimulating also due to the delicate yet firm tannins. This is an age-worthy Chenin that is only slowly starting to unfold its charms. Drink Date: 2030-2060. Score: 95+ (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, Oct. 28, 2016)

DOMAINE DE LA CENDRILLON INÉDITE CORBIÈRES 2014
AP

464768 (XD) 750mL $32.00

TASTING NOTE: Wow, the 2014 Corbières Inedite is a killer wine! Made from 50% Syrah, 35% Mourvèdre and 15% Grenache and raised in larger foudre, it offers abundant notes of blackberries, cassis, crushed flower and spice. Rich, full-bodied, ultra-pure and seamless, with beautifully integrated acidity and tannin, it's already hard to resist, but should cruise for a decade. Drink Date: 2017-2027. CHÂTEAU PARADIS TERRE DES ANGES 2015
AC Coteaux d'Aix en Provence

562579 (XD) 750mL $40.00

TASTING NOTE: Even better, the 2015 Coteaux d'Aix En Provence Terre des Anges is a blockbuster that's made from 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache, with the Syrah raised in older barrels and the Grenache in stainless steel. Graphite, toasted spices, black raspberries and garrigue all give way to a big, full-bodied beauty that has tons of fruit, notable purity and a great finish. PICHLER-KRUTZLER LOIBNER RIED LOIBENBERG GRÜNER VELTLINER 2016
Wachau, Osterreich

593137 (XD) 750mL $68.00

TASTING NOTE: Fermented in a large oak Fuder, the 2016 Loibner Grüner Veltliner Ried Loibenberg was picked very early (around the 10th of October), far earlier than its peers. Bottled in June, this is a beautifully precise and elegantly flavored Veltliner that is much more terroir-driven than fruit-driven. The wine shows a ripe but flinty flavored nose that indicates great purity. On the palate, this is a full-bodied, elegant and enormously salty Loibenberg with great intensity but also tension, finesse and purity. This has fine tannins and a stunningly complex finish - one of the very best Loibenbergs of the vintage. Only 1,200 liters produced. Drink Date: 2021-2036. STUDERT-PRÜM WEHLENER SONNENUHR RIESLING SPÄTLESE 2013
Qualitätswein

609396 (MS) 750mL $27.00

The Studert-Prüm family have been making wines in Wehlen for 12 generations and are a staple of the Mosel. This elegant, sophisticated Riesling comes from the steep, rocky blue slate of the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard. Roughly 80% of the vines are planted on original rootstock, and the wine is produced using natural yeasts. This exceptionally age-worthy wine will provide a classic refinement and vibrancy with superb fruit and mineral intonations.

GUNDERLOCH NACKENHEIM ROTHENBERG RIESLING SPÄTLESE 2016
Pradikätswein

724922 (S) 750mL $66.00

TASTING NOTE: The vines from which this wine is sourced are planted in ancient red slate on the middle terrace at the top of slopes rising precipitously from the Rhine River. The soils are over 25 million years old, give or take a millennia or two, and this attribute, combined with the steepness of the Rothenberg vineyard, creates a unique microclimate. This wine is renowned for its rich, concentrated character as well as its impressive fruit, perfectly balanced sweetness and that exquisite minerality that Riesling is so capable of reflecting. These are wines that can be aged for over 20 years.

PFEFFINGEN HERRENBERG GG RIESLING 2016
Pradikätswein

577403 (XD) 750mL $54.00

TASTING NOTE: The ripest apricots and a hint of mango on the nose. All the richness which goes with that, but also a lot of finesse. Very long cool and mineral finish. Delicious now, but this has a great future ahead of it. Score: 95 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Dec. 13, 2017)

ALOIS LAGEDER KRAFUSS 2013
DOC Alto Adige

177253 (XD) 750mL $67.00

TASTING NOTE: The estate name Tenutae Lageder seems to have been removed from the front label starting with this vintage. The 2013 Alto Adige Pinot Noir Krafuss is a smooth and extremely elegant wine with a delicate approach that engages the senses. Starting with the bouquet, the wine reveals wild berry aromas with raspberry and red currant. Floral notes of violet with mossy earth or forest floor also appear. The wine is silky and lean in texture with a soothing and relaxed temperament. Drink Date: 2017-2022. Score: 93 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, July 28, 2017)

ALOIS LAGEDER LÖWENGANG CHARDONNAY 2014
DOC Alto Adige

324889 (XD) 750mL $70.00

TASTING NOTE: A decadent nose of preserved lemons, dried citrus rind and guava peel, not to mention no lack of vanilla and bread dough, but it all shows finesse. The palate is dense but incredibly uplifted by vibrant acidity, plenty of yellow dried fruit and lemons, and it all leads to a long yet juicy finish. Drink now or watch this develop in the bottle beautifully. A 1994 tried the other day had aged like Meursault. Score: 95 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Oct. 20, 2017)

NINO NEGRI 5 STELLE SFURSAT 2013
DOCG

525717 (XD) 750mL $66.00

TASTING NOTE: Full-bodied and velvety, this opens with alluring aromas of baking spice, mature plum, violet, Alpine herb and a balsamic note. The concentrated palate is smooth and robust, but it also boasts a weightless quality, delivering dried black cherry, nutmeg, cinnamon, anise, dried date and pipe tobacco alongside firm polished tannins and fresh acidity. A mineral note closes the finish. This is the best Sfursat 5 Stelle I've tried so far. Drink 2018-2028. Ranked #45 in the 2017 Wine Enthusiast Top 100 Cellar Selection. Score: 95 (Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, Feb. 1, 2017)

ELVIO COGNO BORDINI BARBARESCO 2014
DOCG

577791 (XD) 750mL $49.00

TASTING NOTE: The team at Elvio Cogno has produced a very impressive wine from the Barbaresco appellation. The 2014 Barbaresco Bordini is a thickly saturated and rich expression that flows forth with pretty aromatic intensity and a velvety texture. The wine is not immediately obvious. It opens slowly, keeping your attention all the while, with cherry and blackberry soon followed by spice, red rose and a bright touch of freshly chopped mint. This Barbaresco is centered and firm with a tight tannic structure and fresh acidity at the back. Drink Date: 2018-2030. Score: 93 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, June 30, 2017)

TASTING NOTE: Ripe fruit, meat, black truffle and dried strawberry aromas are really amazing. Full body, chewy and juicy tannins and a very long finish of dried mushroom, cedar and berry. Love it. Why wait? One for the cellar. Score: 96 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Oct. 20, 2017)

ANIMARDENTE 2014
DOC Etna Rosso

581595 (XD) 750mL $50.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2014 Etna Rosso Animardente shows dark consistency and a beautifully saturated garnet color. This is a solid and well-made expression from Etna that offers more plushness and richness than many of its peers. There's a greater level of concentration here. The warm and sunny conditions of this happy vintage have left their mark. Spice, dried berry, cassis, lavender flower and polished river stone all play supporting roles. The wine is elegant and poised. Score: 93 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, Aug. 31, 2017)

NIPOZZANO VECCHIE VITI RISERVA RÚFINA CHIANTI 2015
DOCG

403469 (XD) 1500mL $72.00

This is sourced from the oldest vines on the property and is then aged for a period of 24 months in barrel. This fairly recent addition to the Nipozzano portfolio was first made in 2011. "The Vecchie Viti was a 'mistake,' a wine born of practicality and the specific characteristics of the 2011 harvest. According to Nipozzano's winemaker Eleonora Marconi, the 600-acre estate underwent a replanting program beginning in the 1970s. One 50-acre parcel of 40-year-old vines, still trained in the old Guyot method, remained to be replanted. Warm weather in August 2011 resulted in an early and relatively short harvest. The Vecchie Viti plots, harvested entirely by hand, were the last to be picked. Normally, the old-vine Sangiovese would be blended with the other lots for the Nipozzano Riserva. It was the last to be picked and lack of tank space prompted Marconi to ferment the old vines in cement. As the team tasted the different lots prior to blending, the wine from the old vines stood out, and the Frescobaldi team liked it and decided to age and bottle it separately." (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, July 9, 2014). Look for an elegant, refined wine with impeccable fruit, spice and floral tones.

TENUTA SETTE PONTI CROGNOLO 2015
IGT Toscana

228098 (XD) 1500mL $82.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Crognolo is a delicious, entry-level wine from Sette Ponti. Bright and punchy, with plenty of red fruit, spice and floral character, Crognolo is a terrific choice for drinking now and over the next few years. Drinking window: 2018-2023. POGGIO SCALETTE IL CARBONAIONE 2014
IGT Alta Valle della Greve

719872 (XD) 750mL $70.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2014 Il Carbonaione is one of the truly exceptional wines of this challenging season. Lithe and aromatic on the palate, with fabulous energy and overall brightness, it stands out for its superb balance. In many vintages, Il Carbonaione can be a bit bombastic. The 2014, on the other hand, is all finesse. Violet, lavender and cloves add shades of nuance to this bright, beautifully persistent Carbonaione. The 2014 won't be at its best for at least a few years, but its potential is evident. Drinking window: 2024-2034. Score: 95+ (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Jan. 2018)

BERTANI AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO 2009
DOC

362277 (XD) 750mL $140.00

TASTING NOTE: Bottled in January 2017 and released to the market during the upcoming April edition of Vinitaly, 2009 was a warm, dry vintage just as in Bordeaux, yet favored here by a drastic range of diurnal and nocturnal temperatures. The wine is full of youth apparent by the color and almost estery on the nose, with a bright cherry aroma accentuated by notes of bay leaf and a peppery finish. The acidity is still quite racy undermining firm, ripe tannins while balancing high alcohol (15,5%). Bottle ageing will help to give way to the beloved, restrained Bertani style. Drinking Window: 2020-2040. Score: 94 (Aldo Fiordelli, decanter.com, Nov. 29, 2017)

QUINTARELLI ALZERO 2008
IGT Veneto

402156 (XD) 750mL $620.00

"Quintarelli" is a name that is virtually interchangeable with "superlative." There are few names so revered, so truly iconic and so readily identified with quality, tradition and artisanal winemaking. The care, precision and, above all, the patience that goes into making the wines of Quintarelli play no small part in creating the legendary, almost mythical status that the wines own. The primarily old-vine Cabernet Franc Alzero is made using the appassimento technique, in which the grapes are dried before being pressed and made into wine. The style embodies the uncompromising perfection that lies at the heart of these phenomenal, concentrated, intensely flavoured handmade wines that routinely earn ratings in the 90-97-point range from many of the world's most respected critics.

ORBEN MALPUESTO 2015
DOCa Rioja

575738 (XD) 750mL $62.00

TASTING NOTE: Powerful black fruits and plenty of oak make this a showy wine. Although it is big and ripe, there's an attractive freshness and a weighty, dry tannic finish. Drink now. Score: 94 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Jan. 18, 2018)

CASTRO VENTOSA VALTUILLE CEPAS CENTENARIAS 2014
DO Bierzo

339523 (XD) 750mL $70.00

TASTING NOTE: Following the subtle, elegant and floral profile of the vintage, the 2014 Valtuille Cepas Centenarias is always sourced from a south-facing vineyard in the Villegas zone of the village of Valtuille de Abajo, where the soils have a sandy texture and provide for fine, elegant wines. They used 100% full clusters for the fermentation in oak vats with indigenous yeasts, and then matured the wine in used 228-liter oak barrels. The oak does not have an aromatic role in any of the reds. This combines the floral with some characteristics, earthy and developing notes of cypress, smoked meat and a Rhôneish twist. It has some earthy tannins too, coupled with moderate alcohol and great freshness. This is one of the first vineyards to be harvested, as it ripens early, and has contained alcohol. This is a very regular wine, vintage after vintage. This has to be the finest vintage for this bottle. 3,500 bottles were filled in November 2016. Drink Date: 2017-2024. Score: 96 (Luis Gutiérrez, robertparker.com, Aug. 31, 2017)

PEREZ PASCUAS VIÑA PEDROSA LA NAVILLA RESERVA 2014
DO Ribera del Duero

368019 (XD) 750mL $52.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2014 Viña Pedrosa la Navilla Reserva was already bottled and the wine should be released in late 2017, before I taste again here in some 16 months. The wine has the same source and production process, some 20 months in oak. These are 40- to 45-year-old vines, and they produce very balanced grapes that they tend to harvest early. None of their wines have a pH higher than 3.6. This is extremely perfumed, a little more modern if you like, with perfect integration of the oak with the wine, the nose is tremendously harmonious. I was immediately surprised by this wine when I first put my nose in the glass and it continued opening up and developing. It has the very fine tannins that are part of the house style and the lively mouthfeel of the 2014s. Some 30,000 bottles are produced every year, as the wine comes from one specific vineyard and yields are similar from year to year. Drink Date: 2018-2024. Score: 94 (Luis Gutiérrez, robertparker.com, Feb. 28, 2017)

BODEGAS LA HORRA CORIMBO I 2011

571620 (XD) 750mL $83.00

TASTING NOTE: Intense and focused nose showing rosemary, lavender, minerals and fine red-fruit character. Full body and an impressive silky texture that's polished with fine-grained tannins. The finish is long and offers a large spectrum of Mediterranean herbs and soft spices. A fantastic wine. Drink or hold. Score: 95 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Dec. 1, 2016)

MARQUÉS DE MURRIETA CAPELLANÍA RESERVA BLANCO 2013
DOCa Rioja

230011 (XD) 750mL $40.00

TASTING NOTE: Murrieta's single-vineyard, all-Viura reserva is a modernised traditional white Rioja, entirely aged in new French oak. Flavours of pear, white pepper and subtle vanilla spice are complemented by chalky minerality, bright acidity and a saline finish. Drinking Window: 2018-2025. ALPHA CRUCIS SHIRAZ 2015
McLaren Vale, South Australia

377069 (XD) 750mL $70.00

TASTING NOTE: It's McLaren Vale but not as you know it. There's perfume and power and such vibrancy to the fruit, a certain detail not seen before with this series. The restraint dial is on. Excellent crimson colour, wafts of red and black fruit, red licorice, with light Middle Eastern spices especially sumac. Full-bodied with velvety tannins and a long, persistent finish. TASTING NOTE: Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2012 Grange sports an earthy/meaty nose with notes of tree bark, dusty earth, underbrush and chargrill over a core of dried mulberries and Christmas cake, plus hints of pepper and baking spices. Rich, medium to full-bodied and seductive, it has spicy layers and a long meaty/savory finish. Drink Date: 2019-2045. Score: 99 (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Oct. 31, 2017)

ROCKBURN PINOT NOIR 2015

EIKENDAL CLASSIQUE 2015
WO Stellenbosch

574012 (XD) 750mL $30.00

TASTING NOTE: Every bit as good as you'd expect it to be in a stellar vintage like 2015, this stylish, complex cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot is very serious indeed, with remarkable structure and power, perfumed oak and layers of dark, inky fruit. Still a baby, but with a distinguished future ahead of it. Drink Date: 2022-30. Score: 95 (Tim Atkin, MW, timatkin.com, South Africa Special Report 2017)

PORSELEINBERG SYRAH 2015
WO Swartland

483941 (XD) 750mL $99.00

TASTING NOTE: Sometimes you have to remind yourself how recently this amazing site was planted, making its first wine in 2011. But what a wine this is. If it [was] grown in the Rhône, it would sell for twice the price or more. It's the Cornas of the Cape: compact, savoury and deeply coloured, with layers of dark, inky fruit, spicy tannins and a combination of freshnes and understated power. Drink Date: 2020-32. ACHAVAL FERRER FINCA ALTAMIRA MALBEC 2014
Uco Valley, Mendoza

24745 (XD) 750mL $133.00

TASTING NOTE: 2014 started as a normal growing season, but in February it started raining, so the character of many wines is fresh, less powerful and more elegant. These characteristics are clearly reflected in the 2014 Malbec Finca Altamira, which in any case is always the most floral and exuberant of the single-vineyard bottlings. What matters here is the origin, the soils and vines, rather than the process, which is kept more or less the same for all of the wines. It has a spectacular acid structure, not as creamy as other years, more vertical. Truly outstanding. Drink Date: 2016-2024. Score: 96+ (Luis Gutiérrez, robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2016)

COLOMÉ ALTURA MÁXIMA MALBEC 2014
Salta

571745 (XD) 750mL $146.00

TASTING NOTE: There are only 7,000 bottles of this remarkable wine, made from a 3-hectare parcel of limestone and granite in the world's highest vineyard. Aromatic, rich and spicy, it's a plush, dense, concentrated wine with underlying focus and precision and layers of blackberry and black cherry fruit. The new oak is effortlessly integrated here. Drink Date: 2019-28. Score: 97 (Tim Atkin, MW, timatkin.com, Argentina Special Report 2017)

SALENTEIN SAN PABLO SINGLE VINEYARD MALBEC 2014
Mendoza

574038 (XD) 750mL $

TASTING NOTE: There is also a 2014 Single Vineyard Malbec San Pablo from their estate vineyard there, from the plot 14 to be precise, located at 1,480 meters altitude, a very cold place with sandy soils and limestone quite deep down that tends to produce floral and fresh wines, like this one, even though it was cropped from a somehow warm vintage. The wine is also powerful at 15% alcohol, keeping some six grams of acidity and coming through a little oaky as it fermented in brand new 225-liter French barriques where it underwent malolactic and 16 months élevage. This is a smaller lot and the oak is more noticeable, and it should show better after some more time in the bottle. But there is great intensity of flavors in the palate, it's a wilder expression of the grape, in a place that is extreme, a mixture of violets, graphite and Mediterranean herbs, spices with an exotic touch. Give it some time in bottle. Only 1,500 bottles were produced. It was bottled in one single lot in October 2015. Drink Date: 2017-2022. Score: 92+ (Luis Gutiérrez, robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2016)

ACHAVAL FERRER QUIMERA 2013
Mendoza

24752 (XD) 750mL $52.00

TASTING NOTE: Sourced from a diversity of places in the province of Mendoza, the 2013 Quimera is a blend of different red grapes, a mixture that is more or less constant across vintages, 50% Malbec, 24% Cabernet Franc, 18% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine matures in brand new French oak barrels, but in 2013 the change is about the size of the barrels that was the result of an internal investigation they have been conducting in the winery. In 2011 they started experimenting with different sizes but from the same cooper. They bought larger and smaller barrels and they were surprised that smaller barrels gave more expressive fruit, so they started using 160-liter oak barrels. I had never heard this before, and in fact Santiago Achaval tells me this has not worked with his wines from California, but in Achaval-Ferrer half of the barrels are now 160-liter! The barrels work well up to three uses, and he thinks it's because the juicy wines from Mendoza have a stronger demand for aeration and the wine benefits from a higher ratio of wood-to-wine because of how much oxygen the wine demands. The nose has no trace of wood, and it's eminently floral. The palate has electric acidity, acid strawberries, it makes you salivate, makes you long for the next sip. Simply delicious. The best Quimera I've tasted. The wine will not be released until March 2016. 60,000 bottles were produced. Bottled in September 2014. Drink Date: 2016-2023. Score: 93 (Luis Gutiérrez, robertparker.com, Aug. 27, 2015)

LUIGI BOSCA FINCA LOS NOBLES CABERNET/BOUCHET 2012
Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza

175547 (XD) 750mL $79.00

TASTING NOTE: 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Bouchet. Wine with a slightly old school character, yet expressive and delicious. The nose delights, with complex aromas of cassis, figs, dark chocolate and black pepper. Smooth, elegant light style on the palate with fresh red fruit expression and herbs supported by fine silky tannins. Divine mouthfeel, velvety texture and long finish, a masterpiece. Score: 95 (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2016)

MAQUIS LIEN 2012
DO Colchagua Valley

403881 (XD) 750mL $34.00

TASTING NOTE: A perfumed and pretty wine with medium body, firm and silky tannins. A blend of carmenere, syrah, cabernet franc and petit verdot. Lovely now to drink. Score: 93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, May 29, 2017)

QUINTESSA 2015
Rutherford, Napa Valley

391086 (XD) 750mL $235.00

TASTING NOTE: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Proprietary Red Wine has a very deep purple color and notes of crushed rocks, dusty earth and iron ore over blackcurrants and black cherries, plus hints of tapenade, bay leaves, underbrush and chargrill. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is bursting with densely packed, youthful black fruits, framed by finely grained tannins and refreshing acidity, finishing long and mineral laced. This was tasted as a barrel sample. Score: 94-96 (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Oct. 31, 2017)

ROUND POND ESTATE RESERVE CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2015
Rutherford, Napa Valley

575688 (XD) 750mL $175.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve has turned out beautifully. Dark, sumptuous and powerful, the 2015 is a super-attractive wine. Sweet red cherry, rose petal, mint and pomegranate are woven together in a racy Cabernet with no hard edges, good freshness for the year and terrific overall balance. Silky, polished tannins add to the wine's considerable appeal. The Reserve can get a bit lost in Round Pond's range, but it is arguably the wine that best captures the personality of this Rutherford site. Drinking window: 2020-2035. Score: 93 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Jan. 2018)

BERINGER PRIVATE RESERVE CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2014
Napa Valley

149955 (XD) 750mL $224.00

TASTING NOTE: Always the best of all of them is the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve, which in this vintage is a blend of 62% from their Howell Mountain holdings, 22% from St. Helena, 7% from Spring Mountain, 7% from Mt. Veeder and the rest from other sources. Only 7,383 cases were made of this blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot. The wine has an inky purple color, a big, sweet kiss of pen ink, graphite, cedar wood, licorice, blackberries and blackcurrants with some background oak, but it's dominated by the fruit extract and the full-bodied richness and glycerin this wine possesses. The texture is open and lush, and the wine more forward and sexy than the 2013 was at a similar stage of development. It should drink well for 20-25 years, as these wines have an impeccable track record of ageability. Drink Date: 2016-2041. Score: 95 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2016)

DUTTON-GOLDFIELD CHERRY RIDGE SYRAH 2014
Dutton Ranch, Russian River Valley, Sonoma County

577809 (XD) 750mL $85.00

TASTING NOTE: From a site on the western edge of Green Valley, this wine rocks in its light-bodied wrestling of white pepper and floral violet intrigue, so inviting on the nose. It opens slowly to unravel high-toned acidity and aspects of wild berry that are irresistible in their succulence and depth. Score: 94 (Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast, Oct. 1, 2017)

FESS PARKER OLDER BARREL PINOT NOIR 2014
Santa Rita Hills, Santa Barbara County

577650 (XD) 750mL $50.00

TASTING NOTE: The deep ruby colored 2014 Pinot Noir Older Barrel offers beautiful purity in its black raspberry, smoked herbs, forest floor and spice-filled bouquet. This gives way to a pure, elegant, yet concentrated, rich, classic Cali-styled Pinot Noir. It's another fruit-filled wine from this estate that's a joy to drink. Coming from a top barrel selection (there are only 4 barrels) and the sand and clay soils of the Rancho Las Hermanas site, it saw upwards of 25% whole clusters and 18 months in four-year-old barrels. It should drink nicely for 7-8 years. Drink Date: 2016-2024. Score: 93 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Aug. 30, 2016)

The wine displays the great fruit that is possible from these two sites owned by the Jacksons. It has an opaque purple color, a big, sweet kiss of crème de cassis and blackberry with a touch of lead pencil shavings, vanilla and incense. The palate reveals a solid backbone of grainy tannins and lively acid, supporting the generous fruit and paving the long, spicy finish. Drink Date: 2017-2024. Score: 93 (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Aug. 31, 2017)

WALT SHEA VINEYARD PINOT NOIR 2015
Yamhill-Carlton, Willamette Valley

571885 (XD) 750mL $125.00

TASTING NOTE: Based in the Napa Valley, this brand from Kathryn Hall focuses on Pinot Noir. This release features grapes from one of Oregon's best sites - the Shea Vineyard, located in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. It's jam-packed with black cherry and cassis fruit, nuanced by firm streaks of tobacco, espresso and sweet spice. Its density and balance are superb. Editors' Choice. Score: 94 (Paul Gregutt, Wine Enthusiast, Feb. 1, 2018)

BETZ FAMILY WINERY LA CÔTE PATRIARCHE SYRAH 2015
Yakima Valley, Columbia Valley

571893 (XD) 750mL $75.00

TASTING NOTE: Both Bob and Louis commented on the consistency of the vineyard block for this cuvee, and the 2015 La Cote Patriarche is another terrific wine. This cuvee comes from some of the oldest Syrah vines in the state, and I'm sure this has more than a little to do with the consistency, as the old vines are much more resilient to heat spikes and difficult weather. This 2015 shows a perfumed, black and blue fruit, floral and sappy herbs-driven personality to go with full-bodied richness, ripe, silky tannin and fabulous purity. Elegant, fresh, complex and nuanced, it's a terrific Syrah from this first-rate team, and from Washington State. Score: 95 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, June 30, 2017)

BETZ FAMILY WINERY CLOS DE BETZ RED 2014
Columbia Valley

462929 (XD) 750mL $75.00

TASTING NOTE: Possessing the highest percentage of Merlot ever for the cuvee (at least until the 2015), the 2014 Clos de Betz is 71% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot that's just under half from Red Mountain fruit and the rest from Columbia Valley sites. Notes of cassis, licorice, damp herbs, chocolate and earth all flow to a medium to full-bodied, supple, elegant and incredibly polished 2014 that needs 2-3 years of bottle age and will keep for 10-15 years. Drink Date: 2019-2034. Score: 95 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, June 30, 2017)

L'ECOLE NO. 41 APOGEE PEPPER BRIDGE VINEYARD PROPRIETARY RED 2014
Walla Walla Valley

271361 (XD) 750mL $90.00

TASTING NOTE: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 15% Malbec. Black fruit and spice on the nose; savoury, quite fine-grained tannins and fresh acids on the palate. Good concentration and balance of tannins. Score: 93 (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2017)

POCAS JR. VINTAGE PORT 2015
DOP

582239 (S) 750mL $58.00

TASTING NOTE: This muscular, hefty young Port has thick layers of warm fig, crushed plum, blackberry cobbler and blueberry reduction flavors stacked on top of one another, framed by a ganache note and backed by tarry grip. Best from 2030 through 2045. Score: 93 (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, Dec. 15, 2017)

HIGHLAND PARK 30-YEAR-OLD ORKNEY ISLANDS SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY

22202 750mL $2,000.00

TASTING NOTE: A very dramatic shift from the last bottling I tasted; this has taken a fruitier route. Sheer quality, though. Score: 90 (Jim Murray, Whisky Bible, 2018)

GRAN PATRÓN BURDEOS AÑEJO TEQUILA
Mexico

286690 750mL $689.00

Crafted from 100% Weber blue agave, this handmade Tequila is distilled twice and aged for a minimum of one year in used American oak before being distilled a third time and aged in new French oak. It is then transferred again, this time to used Bordeaux barrels. The crowning touch to this meticulous process is the crystal bottle; each one polished, etched and numbered by hand. Textured, rich and pure, this will be an impressive, complex Tequila.
