HENNESSY PARADIS IMPÉRIAL COGNAC
AC

437962 750mL $3,823.00

TASTING NOTE: A blend created by Yann Fillioux of 35 to 130 year old cognacs matured in seasoned old barrels, only one out of 1,000 is good enough to get in these bottles. Refined, balanced and elegant, this is ultra-sophisticated. Golden amber with flowery notes of jasmine and orange blossom there is virtually no wood on the palate, rather hints of spice and florals in a delicate yet persistent style. A beautiful, delicate, contemporary cognac with ultimate style. Score: 99 (Margaret Swaine, winealign.com, Feb. 23, 2015)

ELEPHANT HILL MERLOT/MALBEC 2013
Hawkes Bay, North Island

630517 (XD) 750mL $32.00

TASTING NOTE: Dense and decadent red with dark berry, plum, chocolate, vanilla, liquorice and a suggestion of spicy oak. Very impressive wine from an outstanding vintage where Merlot was the star, at least at a regional level. Fruit flavours are supported by soft, chewy tannins. Approachable now but with obvious cellaring potential. Great value at this price. Drink: 2015 to 2022. Score: 95 (Bob Campbell, MW, bobcampbell.nz, Dec. 12, 2015)

EL PUÑO BLANCO 2015
DO Aragón

628107 (XD) 750mL $30.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2015 El Puño Blanco is a blend of 55% Macabeo, 35% Viognier and the rest Garnacha Blanca from different parts of Calatayud, but sold without appellation because Viognier is not authorized in the rules of the appellation. The Viognier is quite evident in the nose with plenty of peach aromas. It fermented in stainless steel and used oak barrels (300- and 500-liter), and then blended and put in Flextank egg-shaped containers for 15 months in contact with the lees. It has good volume in the palate and a tasty, almost salty finish. It's powerful in a Rhône-ish style, with 14.5% alcohol, so not a shy white. 5,500 bottles were filled in May 2017. Drink Date: 2017-2020. Score: 91 (Luis Gutiérrez, robertparker.com, June 30, 2017)

ANNONCE DE BELAIR MONANGE 2015
AC Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

516807 (XD) 750mL $105.00

TASTING NOTE: A very impressive second wine (of Château Belair-Monange) with good concentration and the same kind of vitality and fresh red-fruit character as the first wine. Substantial but elegant tannins give it a firm backbone that should enable it to mature through at least 2025, but this should hold longer than that. Score: 93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Feb. 2, 2018)

LES FORTS DE LATOUR 2012
Second wine of Château Latour, AC Pauillac

452193 (XD) 750mL $433.00

TASTING NOTE: This is the first vintage to not be offered En Primeur, meaning this is the first commercial release for this wine. It is composed of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it opens with expressive notes of crème de cassis, unsmoked cigars, charcuterie and tapenade on the nose with hints of kirsch and fertile loam plus a waft of menthol. Medium to full-bodied, the palate displays great concentration, sporting beautifully ripe, finely grained tannins, wonderful freshness and a long, savory finish. Just entering its drinking window and still possessing bags of fruit, it should continue to evolve and cellar for a further 15+ years. Drink: 2018-2033. Score: 92 (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, March 29, 2018)

CHÂTEAU LAGRANGE 2010
3e cru, AC Saint-Julien

628248 (XD) 750mL $158.00

TASTING NOTE: Loads of tension and form. It can be cellared for decades, but it's balanced and beautiful already. Lots of blueberry, licorice and blackberry character. Try in 2018. Score: 96 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, July 22, 2014)

CHÂTEAU DUHART-MILON 2009
4e cru, AC Paulliac

628305 (XD) 750mL $284.00

TASTING NOTE: A blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon and 37% Merlot, it displays an inky/blue/purple color as well as a big, sweet nose of creme de cassis, forest floor, licorice, lead pencil, cedar and subtle barrique smells. Viscous and full-bodied, it is the most concentrated and broadest example of this cuvee I have tasted in over three decades. It will be ready to drink in 5-7 years and should last for three decades or more. Consumers looking to maximize value should be checking out Duhart Milon, as this may be the single smartest purchase in this great and historic vintage! Score: 97 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Dec. 22, 2011)

CHÂTEAU MOULIN HAUT-LAROQUE 2008
AC Fronsac

582114 (XD) 750mL $56.00

The Hervé family can trace their history in this area to 1607. They have been producing wines here since 1890. This 2008 is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec that will offer a wealth of dark fruit with tobacco and herbs wrapped around a refined mineral core. Expect a wine with considerable vibrancy and drive.

CHÂTEAU LATOUR 2006
1er cru, AC Pauillac

566406 (XD) 750mL $1,330.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2006 Latour is composed of 91.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7.5% Merlot, 0.5% Cabernet Franc and 0.5% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it charges out of the gate with impressively energetic crème de cassis, cured meats, wood smoke and black forest cake notions plus hints of licorice, sandalwood and iron ore, not to mention a fragrant waft of dried roses that emerges with coaxing. Medium to full-bodied, suitably rich, expressive and accented by sparks of exotic spices, it has a frame of now velvety tannins contributing just a bit of chew to the long, perfumed finish. Drinking beautifully now, it should cellar gracefully over the next 20+ years. Drink: 2018-2038. Score: 95 (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, March 29, 2018)

BOUCHARD PÈRE & FILS VIGNE DE L'ENFANT JÉSUS GRÈVES 1ER CRU 2016
AC

415000 (XD) 750mL $150.00

TASTING NOTE: Here too the wood treatment is anything but subtle though it stops just short of completely overshadowing the exuberantly spicy plum liqueur and earth-scented nose. There is good drive and even better detail if not the impressive concentration to the medium weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the ever-so-slightly warm and very firm finish. Again, my predicted range assumes that the wood treatment will be successfully absorbed over time and note as well that plenty of patience will be necessary. Drink: 2031+. Sweet spot. Outstanding. Score: 92-94 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, April 15, 2018)

DOMAINE FRANÇOIS LUMPP CLOS DU CRAS LONG GIVRY 1ER CRU 2016
AC

523795 (XD) 750mL $66.00

TASTING NOTE: Reduction currently dominates the underlying fruit but it does appear ripe. The dense, powerful and very serious middle weight plus flavors also brim with dry extract that serves to buffer the markedly firm tannins that really come up on the backward but balanced and explosively long finish. In contrast to some of the prior wines that should be approachable young, this superb effort is definitely going to need extended cellaring. Drink: 2026+. Don't miss! Outstanding. Score: 91-94 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, Oct. 11, 2017)

DOMAINE FRANÇOIS LUMPP GIVRY LA BRÛLÉE 1ER CRU 2016
AC

609404 (XD) 750mL $68.00

TASTING NOTE: A whiff of oak easily allows the spicy essence of black raspberry, spice and earth to shine. The sleek, rich and attractively energetic medium-bodied flavors retain good delineation on the impressively complex and persistent finish that is shaped by ripe and moderately firm tannins. Good stuff. Drink: 2022+. Sweet spot. Outstanding. Score: 90-92 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, Oct. 11, 2017)

DOMAINE FRANÇOIS LUMPP GIVRY PIED DU CLOU 1ER CRU 2016
AC

485037 (XD) 750mL $62.00

TASTING NOTE: An appealingly layered and distinctly ripe but fresh nose combines notes of liqueur-like red currant, plum and spice wisps. There is fine volume to the very rich, caressing and noticeably finer medium weight flavors that possess better depth on the well-balanced finish. This is also quite good and should be approachable young. Drink: 2021+. Score: 88-91 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, Oct. 11, 2017)

DOMAINE JESSIAUME SANTENAY LES GRAVIÈRES 1ER CRU 2015
AC

487488 (XD) 750mL $50.00

TASTING NOTE: Though a touch unforgiving at the moment, this compact red is dense, with cherry, earth and mineral flavors. Well-structured and concentrated, lingering with fruit and mineral elements on the finish. Best from 2020 through 2032. Score: 92 (Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com, Nov. 30, 2017)

MAUME MAZY-CHAMBERTIN GRAND CRU 2014
AC

538827 (XD) 750mL $295.00

TASTING NOTE: Bright, dark red. Wild, musky scents of raspberry, smoked meat, licorice, menthol and earth. Dense, salty, powerful wine with no rough edges to its soil-driven raspberry, smoke and mineral flavors; boasts terrific solidity and extract for the year. The creamy old-vines depth of flavor contributes to this wine's compelling early sweetness. Finishes with serious but utterly harmonious tannins and superb sneaky rising length. While this Mazis is likely to be very long-lived, even today it's not particularly austere. Drinking window: 2025-2040. Score: 94+ (Stephen Tanzer, vinous.com, March 2017)

TRAPET PÈRE & FILS CHAMBERTIN GRAND CRU 2014
AC

579847 (XD) 750mL $431.75

TASTING NOTE: This possesses an intensely floral nose with its equally cool and restrained array of rose, lavender and violet scents that add elegance to the distinctly spicy and earthy red and dark berry fruit scents that are also tinged by herbal tea nuances. There is excellent volume to the fleshy yet well-detailed and explicitly powerful big-bodied flavors that exhibit excellent power on the palate staining and hugely long finish. This intensely mineral-driven effort is most impressive but again note well that I would recommend buying this only if you have the requisite patience to cellar it accordingly as it's absolutely going to need it. As an aside it's going to be very interesting to see over time which wine among these three grands crus is ultimately the most interesting. Drink: 2032+. Score: 95 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, Jan. 15, 2017)

MARCHAND-TAWSE CHAMBOLLE-MUSIGNY 2013
AC

562835 (XD) 750mL $85.00

TASTING NOTE: Bright healthy red. Red berries and menthol on the nose. Sappy, sweet and concentrated, showing good saline intensity to the red berry flavors. Finishes with supple tannins and very good length. Pascal Marchand noted that this wine used to be more rigid when he used a higher percentage of new wood. Drinking window: 2018-2025. Score: 87-90 (Stephen Tanzer, vinous.com, Jan. 2015)

MARCHAND-TAWSE NUITS-ST-GEORGES LES VAUCRAINS 1ER CRU 2012
AC

538769 (XD) 750mL $112.00

TASTING NOTE: Reduction currently suppresses the fruit but there is excellent verve, volume and concentration to the broad-shouldered, powerful and overtly muscular flavors. The supporting tannins are robust and rustic yet this is not overly austere. Note that like most classic examples of Vaucrains this will not be an early drinker. Drink: 2024+. Score: 89-92 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, Jan. 15, 2014)

MAISON LEROY GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN 2005
AC

574681 (XD) 750mL $1,770.00

From one of the great Burgundy vintages and from one of the most iconic names in Burgundy, the renowned "Lalou." Jancis Robinson, MW, said of the 2005 vintage: "If there is one dominant characteristic of these [2005] wines it is their thrilling combination of ripeness and acidity" (jancisrobinson.com, Jan. 27, 2007). And David Schildknecht says "... The personality of wines from this luminous, gloriously healthy and ripe vintage is positively kinetic, but decidedly on the dark side of the flavor spectrum. Fresh, sometimes faintly tart black fruits, overt and at times almost austerely mineral flavors, and mysterious, at times brooding forest floor complexities are the norm. Many of the best Pinots of 2005 push the limit of ripeness consistent with freshness, and the limit of sheer density consistent with elegance. Firm, fine tannins are never far from the surface, even where these Pinots' youthful textures are already silken or creamy. These wines will need time in the bottle to show their true colors ..."( robertparker.com, April 29, 2017)

DOMAINE FRANÇOIS LUMPP GIVRY CLOS DES VIGNES RONDES 2016
AC

609412 (XD) 750mL $52.00

TASTING NOTE: Lumpp noted that this had not been racked and not surprisingly it was noticeably reduced. Otherwise there is both good volume and punch to the succulent middle weight flavors that conclude in a dry, clean and refreshing finish that offers good if not special depth and persistence. Drink: 2020+. Score: 87-89 (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, Oct. 11, 2017)

JOSEPH DROUHIN MARQUIS DE LAGUICHE MONTRACHET 2016
AC

670323 (XD) 750mL $1,024.00

TASTING NOTE: The complexity and sheer magnitude of Montrachet is on full show here. A powerful expression of the largest holdings in the Puligny side of the vineyard. Grilled hazelnuts, grilled peaches, grapefruit and lemon citrus, as well as a layer of spiced nougat-like aromas. There's a very long, concentrated and dense palate that starts out cloaked in flavors of rich peaches and glossy fruits. The flavors then peel away in layers as it sits on the palate, revealing a very focused, refined and essence-like citrus core with tremendous elegance and intensity. Drink or hold through the next decade. Or even longer if you desire. Score: 99 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Feb. 15, 2018)

BILLAUD-SIMON MONTÉE DE TONNERRE CHABLIS 1ER CRU 2015
AC

325241 (XD) 750mL $66.00

TASTING NOTE: Curious, lifted almond nose, reminiscent of walking into a patisserie. On the palate, the attack is fresh and direct with good acidity and purity of fruit. The patisserie character is absent. Sleek and intense with a long lifted finish and a mineral tang. Drinking Window: 2018-2026. Score: 92 (Stephen Brook, decanter.com, Dec. 31, 2016)

JOSEPH DROUHIN CHASSAGNE-MONTRACHET BLANC 2015
AC

958884 (XD) 750mL $69.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Chassagne-Montrachet Village perhaps does not quite have the sophistication of the Puligny-Montrachet this year, though with time there are attractive conference pear and star anise scents (Véronique Drouhin sitting opposite me picked up fennel). The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, with hints of lemongrass tincturing the citrus fruit with that fennel/anise note just guiding the melon and grapefruit finish. This should drink well over the next 4-6 years. Drink Date: 2017-2022. Score: 87-89 (Neal Martin, robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2016)

LOUIS JADOT CHASSAGNE-MONTRACHET ABBAYE DE MORGEOT 1ER CRU 2015
AC

967646 (XD) 750mL $127.00

TASTING NOTE: Full straw-yellow. Aromas of yellow peach and spices are complemented by a honeyed nuance. Broad and rich but with good citrus lift to its white peach and lemon flavors. A distinct step up in energy and definition from the Baudines. Sound acidity frames and extends the finish. Drinking window: 2019-2026. Score: 91 (Stephen Tanzer, vinous.com, Sept. 2017)

MAISON LEROY MONTHÉLIE 2015
AC

574673 (XD) 750mL $326.00

The village of Monthélie falls between Volnay to the north and Meursault to the south. The village is home to 15 climats that have earned premier cru designation. Though the area is best known for producing reds, Chardonnay has become increasingly important in recent years. The majority of white Monthélie is produced at the southern end of the village and shares some similarities with the great whites of Meursault. Refined acidity, white flowers, lemon, apple and hazelnut are typical expressions found in Monthélie's Chardonnays.

CHÂTEAU LA NERTHE CUVÉE DES CADETTES CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE 2015
AC

745380 (XD) 750mL $159.00

TASTING NOTE: La Nerthe's 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee des Cadettes is a blend of approximately one-third each Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Eighty percent of the wine spent a year in new oak barrels, but much of that has been absorbed into the wine, and I see that my notes don't make reference to overt oak descriptors. Scents of raspberry and spice lead the way, followed by a firm, full-bodied palate. The tannins are present from front to back, but they're ripe and silky, lingering elegantly on the finish. Drink Date: 2022-2035. Score: 94 (Joe Czerwinski, robertparker.com, Oct. 31, 2017)

XAVIER VIGNON ARCANE LE SOLEIL 2015
AP Côtes du Rhône-Villages

609438 (XD) 750mL $35.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Cotes du Rhone Villages Arcane XVIII Le Soleil is youthfully dark in color and fruit-forward, but it also shows softening, silky tannins. It's full bodied but not overblown, with a sensationally seductive mouthfeel. Black cherries define the fruit, joined by hints of dark chocolate and enough garrigue to give it a seriously savory character despite the fruit. This is an old-vine blend of 80% Grenache with 10% each Syrah and Mourvèdre, aged 15 months in one-third new oak, the rest in concrete or foudre. Maybe the best Côte du Rhône Villages I've ever tasted, it looks to have the stuffing to go another 10 years. Drink Date: 2017-2027. Score: 94 (Joe Czerwinski, robertparker.com, Oct. 31, 2017)

M. CHAPOUTIER MONIER DE LA SIZERANNE HERMITAGE 2013
AC

182725 (XD) 750mL $117.00

TASTING NOTE: Fleshy and inviting, with a core of plum, boysenberry and raspberry pâte de fruit notes, pushed from behind by a lively anise edge. Shows ample singed wood spice, dried bay and black tea details through the finish, which has nicely embedded acidity. Drink now through 2027. Score: 94 (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, Aug. 31, 2017)

M. CHAPOUTIER CHANTE-ALOUETTE HERMITAGE BLANC 2015

140541 (XD) 750mL $90.00

TASTING NOTE: The finest vintage for this cuvée I've ever tasted, the sensational 2015 Hermitage Chante Alouette boasts awesome notes of white peach, orange marmalade and white flowers in a rich, full-bodied, concentrated style. Coming from three different terroirs on Hermitage Hill (Méal, Les Murets and Chante Alouette), don't miss it! Drink Date: 2016-2019. Score: 95 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2016)

KUENTZ-BAS GEISBERG RIESLING 2015
AC Alsace Grand Cru

628537 (XD) 750mL $81.00

TASTING NOTE: There is a glorious touch of ripe peach among the abundant lemon notes of the nose. A hint of grapefruit spice lends added allure. These notes carry to the palate that is juicy in ripe peach, grapefruit and bright lemon. All this happens on an completely dry, finely delineated body of absolute precision and poise. There is something crystalline about this, something fine-boned and delicate that nonetheless has absolute power to convince. This is simply wonderful. Its inherent grace will only increase with time. Drink: 2020-2037. Score: 96 (Anne Krebiehl, MW, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 1, 2017)

MEYER-FONNÉ HINTERBURG DE KATZENTHAL PINOT GRIS 2015
AC Alsace

609727 (S) 750mL $54.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Pinot Gris Hinterburg de Katzenthal is clear and spicy on the stunningly pure and precise nose. Full-bodied, sweet and round on the palate, this is a charmingly lush and generously fruity Pinot with fine tannins and a very delicate acidity. The wine is firmly structured, stimulatingly salty and very long. It will tell us its story in 10, 15 and 20 years. If you don't have the time to wait, you don't have the time for Alsace; you don't have the time for complexity - for one of the world's finest origins of white wine. CRISTAL ROSÉ CHAMPAGNE 2008
AC

629600 (XD) 750mL $669.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2008 Cristal Rosé is all tension, nuance and class. Fresh and utterly brilliant, the 2008 bristles on the palate with pure pedigree. In the glass, the 2008 is at once translucent, weightless and powerful. Readers should be in no hurry to drink the 2008, a wine that will age effortlessly for many, many decades to come. Drinking window: 2020-2058. Score: 99+ (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, July 2017)

GOSSET GRAND MILLÉSIME BRUT CHAMPAGNE 2006
AC

596973 (D) 750mL $98.00

TASTING NOTE: From an excellent vintage, especially for Pinot Noir, Gosset's golden-yellow 2006 Grand Millésime Brut (which blends 56% Pinot Noir with 44% Chardonnay and was disgorged after eight years on the lees) displays a deep, rich and fresh, very mineral bouquet. This is followed by a full-bodied, very complex and persistent palate with purity, finesse and great expression. This is a mouthful of a straightforward, well-structured and refreshing millésime with a long and pure, salty and stringent finish. This 2006 combines richness with purity, elegance with complexity, and finesse with a serious expression and length. A great Champagne indeed. Drink Date: 2016-2024. Score: 94 (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, June 29, 2016)

TASTING NOTE: A lovely Champagne, offering a rich and expressive palate of dried strawberry and white peach fruit, with toasted hazelnut, pastry, candied ginger and lemon curd flavors set in a fine and elegant frame. Long and creamy on the satiny finish. Drink now through 2031. Collectibles. Score: 95 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, Dec. 15, 2015)

TARLANT L'AÉRIENNE PRESTIGE MILLÉSIME BRUT CHAMPAGNE 2004
AC

609768 (XD) 750mL $115.00

TASTING NOTE: Tarlant's 2004 Prestige Millésime l'Aérienne is a blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir from a total of five single vineyards in Oeuilly/Marne Valley (planting density: 9,500 vines per hectare; average age: 45+ years). Fermented and aged in oak until May 2005 (without malolactic fermentation) and disgorged as Brut Nature in September 2016, this is a terribly pure, fresh and elegant blend in a more lithe, lean and grippy-mineral style. Showing white fruits on the subtle, fresh and mineral bouquet, this 2004 still tastes incredibly young and fresh and reveals an almost austere finish with great tension. Drink Date: 2018-2030. Score: 93 (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, Nov. 30, 2017)

RUINART BLANC DE BLANCS BRUT CHAMPAGNE

DOMAINE HUËT CLOS DU BOURG MOELLEUX 2016

628586 (S) 750mL $70.00

TASTING NOTE: A stunner, with beautiful pear, green fig, yellow apple and quince notes that are creamy and sweet, yet seamless and refined in feel. The extremely long finish lets honeysuckle and verbena notes dance throughout, with a light echo of white ginger at the very end. Best from 2020 through 2040. Collectibles. EGON MÜLLER-SCHARZHOF SCHARZHOFBERGER RIESLING AUSLESE 2017
Prädikatswein

469361 (S) 750mL $871.00

TASTING NOTE: Although this Saar Auslese is still a bit closed, it already shows sensational refinement and elegance. With aeration, the aromas of tropical flowers and fruits slowly emerge. The wine seemingly wraps its tendrils around you and pulls you into its seductive embrace. Better from 2019, but there's no rush. There's decades of aging potential here. TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese is very clear, ripe and generous on the nose, provided with perfectly ripe fruit and a very delicate flinty slate aroma. Lush, finessed and elegant but also straight, piquant and fresh on the palate, this is a very elegant and perfectly balanced Spätlese with a stimulatingly salty finish. Very sensual and seductive. Bottled with 7.5% alcohol and 83 grams of residual sugar. Drink Date: 2017-2040. Score: 93 (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, April 28, 2017)

ANSELMANN EDESHEIMER ROSENGARTEN BEERENAUSLESE RIESLING 2013
Prädikatswein

610410 (S) 375mL $34.00

The Anselmann family traces its viticultural heritage to 1126, but the family did not begin bottling and selling its own wines until 1959. This Beerenauslese will deliver a richly textured, fruity experience. Look for suggestions leaning to tropical fruit (passion fruit), peach and orange, with luxuriously integrated botrytis notes. The sweetness will be balanced by the vibrant, driving acidity that is always the engine of this style.

TASTING NOTE: [The 2015 Vins du Monde competition did not provide a tasting note with their score] Score: Gold (Vins du Monde, 2015)

406231 (XD) 750mL $76.00

TASTING NOTE: Deep ruby with an amber rim. Brooding coffee and cocoa nuances complicate rich dark cherry and blackberry syrup on the nose. Large-scaled, dense and juicy, showing tactile flavors of dark berries and chocolate complemented by a note of underbrush. This long, smoothly tannic wine pulls off the neat trick of being a behemoth while staying light on its feet. Still, it needs a lot of time to show its best. I wouldn't touch a bottle for at least another five years but it may well go on for another two decades after that. Drinking window: 2020-2045. Score: 94+ (Ian D'Agata, vinous.com, Sept. 2015)

MASSETO 2015

730655 (XD) 750mL $690.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Masseto is simply extraordinary. Soft, silky and seamless, the 2015 possesses remarkable balance and harmony from the very first taste. What surprises me most about the 2015 is how fresh and vibrant the flavors are. Sweet red cherry, pomegranate, mint, and wild flowers are all beautifully lifted in this exquisitely perfumed, gracious Masseto. Despite the warm, drought conditions of the early summer, the 2015 is a wine of mid-weight structure, polish and restraint. In this tasting, it positively dazzles. I can't remember ever tasting a young Masseto with this much pure harmony. Other vintages have been super-impressive upon release. The 2004, 2006, 2010 and 2013 all come to mind. But the 2015 has a level of pure sensuality and allure none of those vintages had when young, with the possible exception of the 2004. Drinking window: 2025-2045. SASSICAIA 2015
DOC Bolgheri Sassicaia

480541 (D) 1500mL $533.00

TASTING NOTE: The first Cabernet grapes were picked on September 10th under perfect conditions, with yields a little lower than average. As is usual at Tenuta San Guido, the fruit for Sassicaia was gently crushed and fermented in stainless steel using natural yeasts. After the malolactic fermentation, the wine spent two years in French oak prior to bottling. This is certainly an exceptional Sassicaia, with a sumptuous nose of ripe, creamy black and red fruit with cedar and spice notes. The colour is by no means dark (as is often the case with Sassicaia), and the impression on the palate is one of controlled power underpinned by gorgeous sweetness and flowing elegance. This is a very confident wine with real authority and presence, beginning with a magnificent attack of rich cassis and ripe griotte cherry followed by cigar box and leather notes, and a long finish of savoury bay leaf and minerals. It's deceptively structured, the tannins wonderfully ripe, creamy and finely textured, while the juicy acidity also suggests that this wine has a very long life ahead of it. This 2015 exhibits everything that you'd want from Sassicaia - and more - because of its winning combination of winemaking savoir-faire, world-class terroir, old vine fruit, and an outstanding vintage. It is unarguably stunning. Drinking Window: 2022-2050. Score: 98 (John Stimpfig, decanter.com, Jan. 30, 2018)

TASTING NOTE: A vivid and bright red with intense blueberries and raspberries. Floral undertones and tons of citrus, too! Full-bodied, dense and layered. Polished tannins and fantastic fruit. TASTING NOTE: Castello Romitorio has cool vineyard sites and is one of the few estates that performs consistently in the warmest years. That's why the 2012 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is just so darn good. This estate has tweaked its winemaking style over the years to produce increasingly elegant and streamlined wines. There is finesse here, but you also get bold cherry fruit, moist earth, cured tobacco and grilled herb. The mouthfeel is silky and smooth, with good acidity on the close. Drink Date: 2020-2035. Score: 95 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, Feb. 28, 2018)

FULIGNI BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2012

FATTORI COL DE LA BASTIA AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA 2013
DOCG

628297 (XD) 750mL $62.00

TASTING NOTE: This balanced, medium- to full-bodied Amarone is round and creamy, with hints of dusty spice and dried herb accenting baked black cherry, red licorice and coffee liqueur notes. Tar-tinged finish. Drink now through 2023. Score: 90 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, 2017)

TOMMASI AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO 2013
DOCG

297994 (D) 1500mL $103.00

TASTING NOTE: Complex and beautiful aromas of blackberry, spice and coffee follow through to a full body and silky and polished tannins. Intense fruit is tied into a firm and polished tannin backbone. Beautiful now but better in 2019. Score: 94 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Oct. 20, 2017)

QUINTARELLI VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO SUPERIORE 2010
DOP

986117 (XD) 750mL $116.00

On January 15, 2012, the wine world lost one of its greatest artisans when Giuseppe Quintarelli passed away at the age of 84. He was a universally revered, iconic force in winemaking, and his wine-ageing regimen was among the most rigorous anywhere. He would not release a wine until it was ready, even if this meant waiting 10 years. For fans of Veneto wines, his were must-have expressions. His daughter Fiorenza, his son-in-law Giampaolo and his grandsons Francesco and Lorenzo now oversee production and continue his practice of extended ageing, ensuring the legacy of Quintarelli.

FAMIGLIA PASQUA RISERVA AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA 2006
DOC

628321 (XD) 750mL $209.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2006 Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva Famiglia Pasqua celebrates the 90th anniversary of this family-run winery (1925-2015). This is a monumental effort that shows enormous power and determination on all the senses, from the nose to the mouth. The bouquet opens to evolved notes of barbecue spice, dried blackberry, espresso bean and saddle leather. This is a dark and sophisticated expression that would pair with sharp cheese or succulent cuts of red meat. This aged Amarone should hold forward for the next ten years. Quantities are limited with just 1,925 bottles produced. Drink Date: 2017-2030. Score: 94 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, May 31, 2017)

GIUSEPPE QUINTARELLI RECIOTO DELLA VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO 2004
DOC

722967 (S) 375mL $215.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2004 Recioto della Valpolicella Classico (375-milliliter) opens to slightly musky aromas of moist earth and button mushroom with dried cherry and blackberry preserves at the back. This is a long and silky expression. Winemaking reflects the same process used to make Amarone, only the fermentation is blocked to preserve some of that bitter-sweetness. The name Recioto comes from the local dialect word for "ears" (reccie) because the wine is made with the shoulders of the grape clusters that tend to ripen first and have more residual sugar as a result. The finish imparts tarry licorice, dried fruit and bitter chocolate. The drinking window here is wide open for sure. Drink 2018-2045. Score: 95 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, May 31, 2017)

FINCA VILLACRECES 2015
DO Ribera del Duero

236422 (XD) 750mL $48.00

TASTING NOTE: A solid dose of violety florals, ripe plum and dark berry fruit. Tannins push this wine along while a youthful energy pervades. Structure, concentration and balance. Best from 2020. Score: 95 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Jan. 18, 2018)

CHÂTEAU DES CHARMES EQUULEUS 2014
Paul Bosc Estate Vineyard, VQA St. David's Bench, Niagara-on-the-Lake

319525 (XD) 750mL $45.00

The 2014 Equuleus is the follow-up to the much-lauded 2012. Equuleus is produced only in years when the grapes reach optimum ripeness and quality. Commentary and scores for the 2012 include 93 points from Rick VanSickle of winesinniagara.com, who called it "... smooth on the palate with generous fruit flavours, fine tannins and integrated spices that echo on the long finish." Sara d'Amato of winealign.com awarded the 2014 92 points, saying, "... this incarnation is absolutely enveloping and offers a considerably plush texture ... A classic built to last with firm but not drying tannins." Expect this 2014 to shine through. It was a difficult year for many, but Equuleus took it in stride.

ELDERTON FIFTEEN SHIRAZ 2015
Barossa Valley, South Australia

623017 (XD) 750mL $300.00

TASTING NOTE: Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Fifteen Shiraz has a profoundly scented nose of crème de cassis, black forest cake, cedar box, Marmite, chargrill and dried mulberries with spicy touches of cinnamon stick, vanilla and cloves. Concentrated, full-bodied and packed with berry preserves and spice flavors, it has a firm backbone of rounded tannins and ample freshness, finishing long with the oak poking through slightly. A behemoth at this primary stage, it really needs some time to marry and show its nuances. Forget it in your cellar for a good 5 years and drink it over the next 20+. Drink Date: 2022-2042. Score: 95+ (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Aug. 31, 2017)

BY FARR SHIRAZ 2014
Geelong, Victoria

577783 (XD) 750mL $70.00

TASTING NOTE: 15+yo vines, hand-picked and sorted, 4% viognier co-fermented in open tanks, 20-22 days on skins, matured for 18 months in French oak (25% new). A very elegant shiraz reflecting its modest alcohol, the moderating effect of viognier, and gentle winemaking extraction. Spicy red fruits are already supple, and the balance of oak and tannins can't be faulted. Shortly put, it could be drunk tomorrow. Drink By: 2039. Score: 96 (James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au, Oct. 6, 2016)

LEEUWIN ESTATE ART SERIES CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2012
Margaret River, Western Australia

623124 (XD) 1500mL $145.00

TASTING NOTE: This is a linear and beautiful wine as always with currant, floral, mint and wet earth. Graphite. Rust. Metal shavings. Full body, chewy and tight with reserve and intensity. A truly excellent wine. Just a baby. Screw cap. Give it another three years. But love now. Score: 97 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Dec. 28, 2017)

CHRIS RINGLAND HOFFMAN VINEYARD SHIRAZ 2010
Barossa, South Australia

633339 (XD) 750mL $580.00

TASTING NOTE: Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2010 Hoffman Vineyard Shiraz possesses an extraordinary nose of cassis, crushed blackberries, earth, Bovril and yeast extract with licorice, spice box and dried herbs hints. Full-bodied, rich and densely packed, with a lovely backbone of ripe tannins and great freshness, the long finish here is just incredible. A true "wow" wine, this complex beauty certainly has the potential to hit "perfection" with a little more time in bottle. Drink Date: 2016-2035. Score: 99+ (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Oct. 28, 2016)

DOMAINE NATURALISTE ARTUS CHARDONNAY 2016
Margaret River, Western Australia

634642 (D) 750mL $69.00

TASTING NOTE: Hand picked, whole bunch pressed, cloudy juice wild-fermented in French oak (40% new), matured for 12 months. It's exceptionally fresh and pure, white peach and nectarine at its core. Roasted cashew and citrusy acidity dance around the core, creating a very long and crisp finish. Score: 97 (James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au, Nov. 1, 2017)

LEEUWIN ESTATE ART SERIES CHARDONNAY 2014
Margaret River, Western Australia

634626 (XD) 750mL $99.00

Joe Czerwinski awarded this wine 96 points, calling it "one of Margaret River's (and Australia's) iconic Chardonnays." (robertparker.com, Dec. 29, 2017)

TASTING NOTE: Part hand, part machine-picked, part wild and part cultured yeast, matured for 11 months in new French oak. Incredibly youthful quartz-green colour; a great chardonnay, its intensity and length right up there with the best prior vintages; white peach and nectarine open the batting, pink grapefruit coming swiftly thereafter, creamy/nutty oak almost lost in the crowd. If this weren't enough, the aftertaste is a work of art, complete in itself. Drink By: 2029. Score: 98 (James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au, Aug. 1, 2017)

VILLA MARIA TAYLORS PASS SINGLE VINEYARD PINOT NOIR 2015
Marlborough, South Island

630699 (XD) 750mL $60.00

TASTING NOTE: Aromatic and quite concentrated pinot noir with dark cherry, cassis, violet and spicy oak flavours. Moderately weighty wine with an impressively lingering finish. A robust, flavoursome wine that's good now but promises to develop further. Drink: 2017 to 2023. Score: 94 (James Suckling, bobcampbell.nz, July 24, 2017)

BOEKENHOUTSKLOOF SYRAH 2015
WO Swartland

52076 (XD) 750mL $56.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Syrah (100% Syrah) comes from the Porseleinberg and Goldmine Vineyards and is partially destemmed and aged 18 months in 500- and 600-liter barrels. It offers a beautiful bouquet of blueberries, violets, crushed rocks and pepper to go with a medium to full-bodied, voluptuous, yet elegant style on the palate. With sweet tannin, beautiful purity of fruit, and a great finish, it's another sensational Syrah from winemaker Marc Kent. It's certainly not far behind the more expensive Porseleinberg Syrah, has incredible character, and will drink nicely for at least a decade. Drink Date: 2018-2028. Score: 94 (Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com, March 20, 2018)

CAPE POINT ISLIEDH 2016
WO Cape Peninsula

285239 (XD) 750mL $45.00

Gold Medal winner at Decanter World Wine Awards 2018.

TASTING NOTE: This was Duncan Savage's last vintage at Cape Point, so it's good to see him leave on a high note with this exceptional, barrel and amphora-fermented blend of Sauvignon Blanc with 16% Semillon. Rich, leesy and almost exotic, it's broader than the 2015, with some tropical notes, stylish oak and good balancing acidity. 2018-2021. Score: 95 (Tim Atkin, MW, timatkin.com, Special Report on South Africa,2017)

FAMILIA FURLOTTTI ALTAMIRA MALBEC 2014
Single vineyard, Valle de Uco, Mendoza

628073 (XD) 750mL $44.00

TASTING NOTE: Refined and very beautiful with blackberries, dark chocolate, spices and hints of nutmeg. Full body, soft and velvety tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Real malbec. Drink or hold. Score: 94 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, undated)

BODEGA DIAMANDES DE UCO GRANDE RESERVE MALBEC/CABERNET 2013
Mendoza

627778 (XD) 750mL $47.00

TASTING NOTE: This barrel sample shows incredible depth of fruit with violet, stone and slate character. It's full-bodied but finely structured and long. Superb. Score: 95-96 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Aug. 28, 2014)

CONCHA Y TORO DON MELCHOR CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2015
DO Puente Alto, Alto Maipo Valley

255372 (XD) 750mL $136.00

TASTING NOTE: An elegant and rich-tasting red, full of concentrated red plum, cherry and currant flavors, backed by suave, medium-grained tannins. The finish offers a caressing palate of lush spice, cocoa powder and cream nuances. Drink now through 2024. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. Highly Recommended. Score: 96 (Kim Marcus, winespectator.com, May 31, 2018)

LAPOSTOLLE CLOS APALTA 2015
DO Colchagua Valley

723676 (XD) 750mL $216.00

TASTING NOTE: There is a subtle complexity on the nose with currant, berry, fresh herb and wet earth aromas. Cut fresh flowers, too. Full body, dense and powerful. Incredible character here with such purity and polish. It goes on for minutes. Formed, sculptured yet soulful. A monumental wine for Chile. Unbelievable. More powerful than the 2014 which was 100 points. A blend of 46% carmenere, 30% cabernet sauvignon, 19% merlot and 5% cabernet franc. Made from biodynamically grown grapes. Better in 2022. Score: 100 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, April 26, 2018)

SANTA CAROLINA HERENCIA CARMENÈRE 2011
DO Peumo, Cachapoal Valley

228387 (XD) 750mL $69.00

TASTING NOTE: Over the last few years, Herencia has risen to the top of Chile's Carmenère kingdom. This vintage opens with rich aromas of vanilla, barrel spice, pepper, herbs and black fruits. A full dense palate is balanced, while this tastes dark and spicy, with lightly baked black-fruit flavors that finish intense and oaky. Drink through 2022. Editors' Choice. Score: 94 (Michael Schachner, Wine Enthusiast, Aug. 1, 2017)

KRUPP BROTHERS STAGECOACH VINEYARD BLACK BART SYRAH 2015
Napa Valley

658526 (XD) 750mL $128.00

TASTING NOTE: Very deep inky purple-black in color, the 2015 Black Bart Syrah Stagecoach Vineyard boasts a wonderfully expressive nose of licorice, dark chocolate, bacon fat, charcoal and red roses over a core of plum preserves and blackberry tart, plus a waft of Chinese five spice. Full-bodied, rich, opulent and full-on seductive, it has a lovely frame of velvety tannins and plenty of freshness to lift the long, decadently spicy finish. Drink Date: 2017-2029. Score: 94+ (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Oct. 31, 2017)

STAG'S LEAP WINE CELLARS CASK 23 CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2015
Napa Valley

991919 (XD) 750mL $375.00

TASTING NOTE: Inky purple-black in color, the 2015 Cask 23 Cabernet Sauvignon (a barrel sample) has a crème de cassis, blueberry compote and licorice-scented nose with hints of bay leaves, spice box and fallen leaves. Medium-bodied, it offers lovely restraint with elegant black fruits and earthy layers plus fine-grained tannins and a wonderfully long, minerally finish. Score: 94-96 (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Dec. 29, 2017)

TYLER LA RINCONADA VINEYARD PINOT NOIR 2015
Santa Rita Hills, Santa Barbara County

630640 (XD) 750mL $103.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Pinot Noir La Rinconada Vineyard offers striking purity in its fruit and exceptional pedigree. Super-ripe red cherry, lavender, rose petal, hard candy, spice and floral notes race from this expressive, open-knit wine. The Rinconada is exuberant but also light on its feet. It will be virtually impossible to resist upon release, as it is the sexiest wine in this range. Drinking window: 2020-2030. Score: 95 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Sept. 2017)

ANAKOTA HELENA MONTANA VINEYARD CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2014
Knights Valley, Sonoma County

181131 (XD) 750mL $160.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2014s are 30-year wines, even in such a supple, easygoing and charming vintage. The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Helena Montana has an opaque purple color, a beautiful nose of graphite, creosote, incense, blackberry and licorice, and maybe a touch of charcoal and earth. The tannins are soft, and there is enormous fruit as well as a deep, full-bodied mouthfeel and some coffee in the finish. It should drink well for 25-30 years. Drink Date: 2016-2046. Score: 93+ (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Oct. 28, 2016)

BIEN NACIDO VINEYARD THE CAPTAIN RESERVE PINOT NOIR 2014
Santa Maria Valley, Santa Barbara County

630483 (XD) 750mL $165.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2014 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard The Captain is one of the very finest wines I have tasted from Trey Fletcher and Bien Nacido Estate. Silky, floral and nuanced, the Captain is all finesse. The purity of the red-toned fruit is simply remarkable. As striking as the 2014 is today, its best drinking lies in the future. Drinking window: 2018-2029. Score: 97 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Sept. 2017)

INGLENOOK CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2014
Rutherford, Napa Valley

288662 (XD) 750mL $125.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, which is a blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, is a beauty of classicism and balance. Dense purple in color, with notes of crème de cassis, blackberry, cedar wood and forest floor, the wine is full-bodied, beautifully concentrated and pure, with moderate tannins and the potential for 20-25 years of upside. Drink Date: 2016-2041. Score: 92 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2016)

CHATEAU MONTELENA ESTATE CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2013

709881 (XD) 750mL $225.00

TASTING NOTE: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate opens with profound black and red currant cordial notes over an undercurrent of Indian spices, chargrill, scorched earth and bay leaves. Medium-bodied with wonderful intensity and depth in the mouth, it has a firm frame of grainy tannins and compelling freshness, finishing long and layered. Drink Date: 2018-2050. Score: 96 (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Feb. 28, 2018)

DONELAN NANCIE CHARDONNAY 2014
Sonoma County

456772 (XD) 750mL $95.00

TASTING NOTE: The Donelans produce several Chardonnays. The 2014 Chardonnay Nancie sees about 20% new oak. It was aged 10 months prior to bottling and is a three-vineyard blend, two on Sonoma Mountain and one on the lower ground of the Russian River Valley. Terrific fruit intensity as well as vibrant honeysuckle, white peach and lemon blossom notes jump from the glass, and once the wine hits the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, spicy, pure, and refreshing. This is intense in flavor, but remarkably ethereal in personality. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. Drink Date: 2016-2021. Score: 94 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, March 3, 2016)

PELLET ESTATE SUNCHASE VINEYARD CHARDONNAY 2014
Sonoma Coast

508259 (XD) 750mL $112.00

TASTING NOTE: This is another stunner from Pellet Estate, from a high-elevation vineyard influenced by fog and wind. A wet stone note and crisp, lemony acidity suggest freshness, neither detracting from the body or texture. Score: 94 (Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast, April 1, 2017)

DOMAINE SERENE YAMHILL CUVÉE PINOT NOIR 2015
Willamette Valley

186858 (XD) 750mL $89.00

TASTING NOTE: A lovely entry into Domaine Serene's range of Pinot Noir, the 'Yamhill Cuvée' is quite impressive in this hot vintage. Gorgeous red fruit aromatics mark the nose along with ripe guava, pomegranate, red cherry candy and a touch of blood orange rind adding complexity. The palate shows wonderful poise, with red cherries, red raspberries and teaberry flavors showing beautifully. Poised, with notable weight, this is a spectacular effort from Domaine Serene and one of the finest examples of this Cuvée which I have tasted in quite some time. Drink Date: 2018-2028. Score: 92 (Dr. Owen Bargreen, internationalwinereport.com, April 2018)

RÉSONANCE DÉCOUVERTE VINEYARD PINOT NOIR 2015
Dundee Hills, Willamette Valley

610394 (XD) 750mL $90.00

BERGSTRÖM SIGRID CHARDONNAY 2015
Willamette Valley

623025 (XD) 750mL $150.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Chardonnay Sigrid conjures notions of peaches, pink grapefruit and green guava with hints of toasted almonds, chalk dust, coriander seed and baker's yeast. Medium-bodied with a racy backbone cutting through the silken texture, it delivers a wonderful intensity of citrus, tropical and savory flavors, finishing long and layered. Drink Date: 2017-2025. Score: 95 (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, robertparker.com, Aug. 31, 2017)

AVENNIA SESTINA 2015
Columbia Valley

407957 (XD) 750mL $102.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Sestina is showing very well, offering up a rich, more exuberant bouquet than the 2014 rendition. This emphasizes notes of cassis, black plums, dark chocolate, espresso roast and a subtle framing of new oak. On the palate, it's full-bodied and lavish but controlled, with an ample, more sun-kissed core of fruit and fine-grained structuring tannins. Like the 2014, it's a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. While the 2014 and 2015 are quite different in style, it's hard to choose between them qualitatively. While it needs a few years in the cellar, I suspect the 2015 will hit its peak sooner. Drink Date: 2020-2035. Score: 96 (William Kelley, robertparker.com, June 29, 2018)

TAYLOR FLADGATE VINTAGE PORT 2016
DOP

628545 (S) 750mL $157.00

TASTING NOTE: In 2016 Taylor's began picking in Vargellas on 17 September, followed by Pinhão Valley estate on 23 and 26 September. The 2016 Vintage Port has an aristocratic bouquet with tight wound aromas of blackberry, bilberry, crushed stone, black olive and a light, marine-tinged element, perhaps almost peat-like. The palate is just beautiful with fine, chiseled tannins and a perfect line of acidity. There is that almost "arching" structure one always seeks in a great Taylor's with a gentle but insistent grip towards the finish. It is everything you really want from a Vintage Port. Drinking window: 2026-2076. Score: 97 (Neal Martin, vinous.com, June 2018)

TASTING NOTE: A beautiful young Port, with raspberry and blackberry aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, yet reserved and refined. Superfine tannins. Very long. Best young Vintage Port from Royal Oporto. Best after 2015. Score: 93 (James Suckling, winespectator.com, April 30, 2006)

KLEIN CONSTANTIA VIN DE CONSTANCE NATURAL SWEET WINE 2013
WO Constantia

5033 (S) 500mL $104.00

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Vin de Constance Natural Sweet Wine was matured in 500-liter barrels for around 36 months. It has a beautiful bouquet with honey, quince, pressed yellow flowers and Mirabelle. It has wonderful definition and purity. The palate is very well balanced with a mellifluous texture and beautifully judged acidity as it just sashays along. It fans out on the finish with honey, quince, a touch of rhubarb and ginger, extraordinarily persistent in the mouth. Matthew Day, current winemaker, opined that he thought the 2012 would be the best ever, but the freshness might see it overtaken. This is awesome. Drink: 2017-2050. Score: 96 (Neal Martin, robertparker.com, April 28, 2017)

GRAN PATRÓN PIEDRA TEQUILA
Mexico

539759 750mL $766.00

TASTING NOTE: Patrón's first-ever extra añejo is aged at least three years, and is named for the stone wheel (piedra) that crushes agave to make Tequila. It has an amber hue and a rich aroma that mixes caramel, dried fruit and peppery notes. The palate is silky and rounded, with lots of caramel and oak up front, tapering off gently with anise, ginger and cinnamon. Best of Year 2016. Score: 97 (Kara Newman, Wine Enthusiast, May 1, 2016)
