CHÂTEAU DES
CHARMES WINERY
Paul Bosc Sr., recipient of the Order of
Canada, is the legendary founder of
Château des Charmes. As a major contributor
to the advancement of the
Ontario wine industry over the past 30
years, it is not surprising that he and his
son Paul Jr. were actively involved in
developing Ontario’s new sub-appellation
system. It is fair to say that the Ontario
wine industry would not be where it is
today without the vision and determination
of the Bosc family.
“Wine growing is not
what we do; it’s
who we are. This is
our way of life.”

CHÂTEAU DES CHARMES ESTATE PINOT NOIR 2005 VQA Niagara-on-the-Lake
Pinot Noir is quickly establishing itself as Ontario's trademark red. The grape is notoriously difficult requiring specific climatic conditions to ripen properly. The fantastic 2005 vintage was ideal for Ontario Pinot Noir, as this effort by Château des Charmes displays. The dark cherry and mushroom aromas are backed up by a refreshing vein of acidity. It is a great wine to pair with roasted fowl and a rich pan jus.
