THE GRANGE OF PRINCE
EDWARD COUNTY
Determination and passion has guided
Caroline Grace Granger throughout
her dynamic life. Spending her youth
between school in Toronto and her
parents’ cattle farm, she moved on to
a successful modelling career that
took her to New York, Paris and Tokyo.
Today you’ll find her wading through
muddy vineyards, amid swarms of
wasps, in search of the best fruit for
her wines. An outspoken advocate of
the wines of Prince Edward County,
Granger’s were the first from the area
to win medals at provincial and
national competitions.
“The idea of family is part of what ties me
to the farm. Also for me, being in on the
birth of a new wine region is tremendously
exciting and a true adventure.”
—Caroline Granger,
President and CEO,

TASTING NOTE: Last year, the Grange won me over with their 2004 version of this wine, and the 2005 is even better. The blend is still the same, 40% each of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon with the remaining 20% being held up by the Merlot. Initially, this wine seems a little closed off, showing only black fruit (black raspberries) and coffee on the nose - but after an hour the fruit begins to poke its way through with raspberries and strawberries emerging.
