Lalande-de-Pomerol - Red Wine

LA FLEUR DE BOUARD

196014    (XD)  750 mL

$50  per btl    $150  per 3-btl. lot

RP: 91-93       DEC: ****       WS: 92-95       JR: 16.5       TJW: 9.2

TASTING NOTE:  Supersilky and round, with lovely berry, licorice and black chocolate character. Full and gorgeous. Like it. Score: 92-95 (WS)

LES CRUZELLES

191395    (XD)  750 mL

$37  per btl    $111  per 3-btl. lot

RP: 90-93       DEC: ***       WS: 90-93       JR: 15.5       GD: 15       TJW: 9.2

TASTING NOTE:  A brilliant effort from proprietor Denis Durantou, this wine (80% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc with a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon) hit 14.5% natural alcohol. Rich mocha and black cherry notes are followed by a powerful, lavishly rich, almost extravagant style of wine that is almost atypical for Lalande de Pomerol, yet the purity, richness, and density are all there. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. (Tasted two times.) Drink: 2010-2025. Score: 90-93 (RP)

SIAURAC

192013    (XD)  750 mL

$25  per btl    $75  per 3-btl. lot

RP: 88-91*       DEC: ***       WS: 88-91       JR: 16       TJW: 9.1+

TASTING NOTE:  A sleeper of the vintage, this is the best wine I have ever tasted from this property. A dense purple color is followed by abundant meaty, black currant, black cherry, licorice, underbrush, and forest floor characteristics. Full-bodied, powerful, rich, and silky-textured, it will provide plenty of pleasure over the next decade. (Tasted once.) Drink: 2010-2020. Score: 88-91* (RP)
